Quote Of The Day

Albert Einstein Quote

What’s Up With Me?

I know I’ve been sharing interviews on Mondays but I’ve decided to start sharing interviews twice a week instead of one.

Did you miss my quote posts where I drone on about myself for no reason? Good, because I did too.

I had an okay day, it wasn’t bad it was just weird. Sort of full of inconveniences. But in the end it was good. It was actually my parent’s anniversary today. They’ve been together for more than three decades now. Technically, they’re not legally married but still it’s nice that they’ve been together for so long.

I’ve been busy working on my second book now that the first one is done. I’m at thirty thousand words so I’m like halfway done. It’s a murder mystery/thriller novel. I think that genre is my strong suit so I’ll stick with it for my first book. I’m also working on another book which is at like 20k but it’s very different from my usual writing.

You can preorder my first book, All The Words I Kept Inside, here if you are so inclined.

Also, who has been watching season 3 of Bridgerton?? Please let me know in the comments I need someone to talk to about it. This season has been so good so far!

  1. Regarding Einstein’s quote, I think it at least seems valid. Happiness and a goal both seem (and/or are) intangible and motivational. This shared intangibility and motivation/ability to motivate seem like they last longer than people and things, and these qualities help make his quote/advice feel more convincing. Thankful you shared his quote and for your post, glad your day was good, and wishing your parents a happy anniversary!

    1. Thanks so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the post and quote. I agree, I think goals are often more longterm as well as stable compared to people that are constantly changing.

  2. It is better to live for something that is worth trying.

    1. Yes, exactly. Well put.

  3. I know it’s strange, but I’m not crazy about Einstein! I’ve heard that he didn’t give his wife credit for anything. She had helped him as much as Madam Cutie had helped her husband. The only difference was that he gave her credit, while Einstein did not! Unacceptable!

    1. I think he was a bad parent too from what I’ve read…

  4. It’s an interesting quote, wise I guess… That’s great you’re writing your books, in what way is the other one you mentioned different, in style or genre? are you enjoying the process? Best wishes.

    1. 30 years is really impressive too ! That’s awesome. 🙂

      1. It is, thanks!

    2. Thanks so much. The one that is being released in July is a poetry book and the book I’m working on at the moment is a thriller/murder mystery.

  5. I love Einstein and his immigration story! It’s very inspiring.
I’m glad to hear your writing is going well.
Happy anniversary to your love birds, I mean, the parents!!!
The big event from last week was going to the concert, ATB was in Portland which made my month, it’s incredibly lucky I Saw the ad on the day of and was able to get the tickets. Their first and best hit was released in 1997. When they finally played it last night I cried, remembering my high school days, Donetsk and all this jazz… Very nostalgic and still very popular even here in the US.

    1. Thanks so much!

That’s so interesting, I love that people still remember and enjoy their music. I think a lot of people will have memories attached to it.

      1. This is what it looked like, younger and older people showed up, I was surprised they all did, very diverse crowd mostly foreigners

        1. That’s wonderful, I like that younger generations are finding older music and enjoying it.

          1. Me too, it was awesome

  6. How many books are you working on 😝

    Great thing
Looking forward to all of them.

The song is okay, didn’t understand a word
    But music is nice.

    1. Lol, I need to work on multiple books otherwise I get bored 😅

      Thanks so much 😊

  7. Impressive work on your books, Pooja. Writing two different books at the same time must be very difficult.
The Einstein quote is wonderful. We should not rely on other people or having ‘things’ to make us happy. If we can’t be happy in ourselves, we will never be happy in a relationship.

    1. Thanks so much. I find it easier to write two at a time because if I focus on just one I lose my motivation/inspiration. This keeps it fun and interesting for me.
I so agree, we need to find our own happiness first.

  8. I like the quote. Trying to achieve a goal or goals will keep you going and can give you a purpose. People can disappoint you, leave, or die, and you can lose things. On the other hand a good supportive family is important to your happiness as well.

    1. I agree, I think it’s all about balance but focusing on goals instead of just people definitely helps.

  9. Happy Anniversary to your parents. Wow, you are keeping busy.

I am feeling guilty for not keeping up with my creative work.

I find the quote interesting in the fact that it is from Albert Einstein because one of the teachings from A Course In Miracles is; no person, place or thing is my source.

I am getting my house ready to list for sale on June 3rd, but got a call from my realtor saying they have someone who wants to look at it tomorrow so a little panic is setting in at the moment. I got a fortune cookie at supper time that said, good luck is headed your way, so fingers crossed.

    1. Thanks, yeah I’m trying to get the words out there before writers block hits lol.

Don’t worry, we all have ups and downs with our creativity. Some days I write a thousand words and other days I write nothing.

Oh wow, fingers crossed it works out well and you get a good buyer for it.

  10. Wow, 2nd and third book – how do you find the time Pooja? x

    1. I try my best to write whenever I can, it’s something I try to prioritise 😊

  11. I like this quote and agree with it 💯 %. People change, have their own priorities so don’t expect anything from them.

    1. I think so too, people change and people come and go. You can’t rely on them fully.

  12. My thoughts are, we are simply self-preservational biological algorithms in a constant discriminatory tweaking to a perfection neither life or love alone fails to provide us. Find who and what you positively love and live it.

    1. That makes sense, I think that’s the key to a happy life.

  13. Thirty odd years of commitment is amazing. Wow. Congrats on your book again btw. Idk why you haven’t advertised it on your podcast Pooja G. I don’t care if it’s even just a prop lol.
Bridgerton?… The first season was great, and then life caught up with me lol but I’ll get back on it. I have a couple friends who don’t shut up about it, so they’ve been harassing me to catch up.
Good luck on the next two novels you’re working on. I absolutely love world building, and novel writing always excites me. Currently have three manuscripts doing the rounds. So press on.. and keep writing. 🙏

    1. It is, 30 years is so long.

Thanks so much, I’m setting up a new background for the podcast and the book will be there in that one. And I need to talk about it more but sometimes I forget because I want the interviews to be about the person I’m interviewing and now me lol.

You absolutely need to catch up with Bridgerton, season 2 and 3 are even better 😃

Thanks so much, same here. I love writing and creating new stories. It’s just o fun. Three manuscripts is amazing, good luck to you as well.

      1. Thanks Pooja..lemme know when the new background is up..I’ll plug it as well for you. 🙏

        1. I so appreciate that, thank you ☺️

          1. You’re welcome. 🙏

  14. happy anniversary to your parents, Pooja 🎉

2nd and 3rd sounds great and all the best with this…. 💫
    a wonderful quote shared🤍🌷

    1. Thanks so much 🤗💕

      1. most welcome 🤗🌷

  15. 2 interview posts a week now? My goodness, you have been busy! I won’t say no to it though. Being exposed to new bloggers is nice, even if some of them I have zero intention of following.

As for Einstein. Well, I kind of agree and disagree. I’ve seen what happens to people when they focus on a goal and suddenly they meet it. They’re life seems to end, bam! But if they can then get a new goal, things seem to be ok. But the people who focus on other people, like a mom on her kids or a guy on some sports star, yeah, that doesn’t usually end up happily.

    1. That’s fair, I think it’s fun to listen to even if you don’t end up following them. They all have very different niches so not all of them will be right for you to follow.

I get what you mean about the quote, I think at the end of the day it’s more about balance and finding your own happiness.

  16. absolutely correct, thanks.

    1. Thanks so much.

  17. My thoughts on the Einstein quote: Sometimes we cling to people, thinking that they are our happiness or happy ending. But in reality, it is the accomplished goals that make us happy. People betray, but a fulfilled goal is pure happiness!

I wish you the best in your second book publishing !! 😄🎉

    1. That’s so true, accomplishing our goals and finding success brings us a different sort of happiness. Thanks so much 😊💕

      1. You’re welcome !! 😊💕

  18. Great to hear book 2 is in the works. Congrats!

    1. Thank you so much!

  19. hey gudka
    you cannot become gupta
less you read all ya mail
billy s was a bi sexual plagerer
and all al s quantam theories
were ripped off from mrs einstein
    bagel label
    that swiss patent fool
    drool
    ovah u tho. lmao

    1. Lol he wasn’t very nice to Mrs. Einstein 😭

      1. nope men are children pooja that s why you like your sister s company better. i presume.

        1. You presume correctly.

          1. it s obvious and understandable too.

            1. Yeah, it’s just easier sometimes as a woman to be around other women. At least for me.

              1. of course.

  20. Season three is so good! Can’t wait to see the next four episodes.#TeamEloise

    1. It is, I’m loving it so far!

  21. The Einstein quotation is smart. Tying oneself to a person would seem to have more with that’s person goal than with one’s own. And what’s the other one? A thing. Could be an idea, even a good idea, or a cause. But such things are tools and should not become the main thing. Continued congratulations on your new book. And now you’re writing a mystery. Grand! That’s a favorite genre of mine (mysteries for adults, poetry, young-adult literature, and spirituality are my genre-kinds these days). Yesterday was a holiday here, which for me was no big deal. I mean, it was nice with less traffic outside my windows. Mostly at present, I’m trying to concentrate on finding a new place to live. No exciting plans. Sigh. I hope your week has started pleasantly. Happy Anniversary! to your parents.

    1. I agree with you about the quotes. People are more flaky and it’s best not to rely too much on anyone.
Thanks so much, mysteries are my favourite too and I’m excited for this one. I hope everyone enjoys it when I publish it.

I see, wishing you the best with moving and finding a new place. Hope you find a wonderful place.

      1. Thank you! Here’s hoping.

  22. Love the post and love the selected quote!…maybe to add something, it is important to focus on a goal that belongs to you – that is your personal desire, ambition or something that make you happy. The goal should not be one belonging to someone else because otherwise you end up connecting your life and sense of fulfilment to other people’s goals. Not saying that other’s goals (such as family and friends) do not matter, but love yourself and value yourself, that’s the road to happiness… 😉

    1. Thanks so much. Great addition, I think goals need to be something that make you happy for yourself.

  23. I like Einstein’s quote. Goals should be tied to oneself and moving forward. People come and go and not always reliable. Congrats to your parents and also to you and your writing 2 books, Pooja. You set a good example of perseverance for lifetime goals.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote. True, people can be flaky and relying on them alone for happiness isn’t a good idea. Thank you so much 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja!💗

  24. I love this quote, Pooja, and it speaks the truth. People can disappoint us, but if we set goals and reach them, accomplishment is a confidence builder. Congrats on your books! Can’t wait to read them. I finished “Glow” and will include it in a book review post in June. I’m slow on reading and reviewing this year. Life has intercepted in many ways. But it was a moving collection, and I loved your poems. Have a good week ahead! ❤️

    1. Thank you so much, I so appreciate you reviewing it! I understand, reviews take a while to write and you’ve been busy and going through a lot this year. Thanks and have a great rest of your week too! ❤️

      1. You’re so welcome, Pooja! Yep, it’s been a year! But I will get it done. I also forgot to say Congrats to your parents! We’ve been married 35 years, together 36, so their long-time relationship is relatable and commendable. 🙂 🩷

        1. Aw, that’s so nice. It’s so cool when people are together for so long, it’s not common these days ❤️

  25. You go, Girl! You are on a roll.

    1. Thank you so much!

  26. Great!

  27. Great quote… kind of like the one where we can’t rely on others for our happiness. Congratulations to your parents!

And wow, you’ve got a lot going on with the authoring thing.

We noticed the new season of ‘Bridgerton’ is up, but we haven’t started it yet. Still watching the old series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ but are nearly finished it. ‘Bridgerton’ will probably be next.

    1. Thanks so much!

Yeah, Bridgerton is great and this season is really interesting. I’m loving it so far.

      1. You’re welcome! I look forward to watching the series. The previous two seasons were terrific.

        1. I feel like this season is somehow even better, it’s my favourite so far.

          1. That’s exciting! 😃

  28. Love the quote and congratulations to your parents, Pooja! 3 books, seriously.. that’s sooo cool Pooja! I’m impressed❣️

    1. Aw thanks so much!! 😊💕

      1. You’re so welcome. bought and arriving soon. You’re right… my book should have been more.. lol 😂❣️

        1. 😅😅

  29. I guess Albert did practice what he preached and look at what he accomplished in life to improve our knowledge.

    1. True, I think he very much focused on his goals.

  30. Wow! You are doing some serious writing! Congratulations on your first publication. I can’t wait to read it. Hugs, C

    1. Thank you so much!

  31. When I first read it I thought Einstein was saying to tie your life to a goat. It made a lot more sense the second time I read it.

    1. Honestly, now I kind of just want my life to be about a goat but they scare me too much…

      1. They are kind of scary.

        1. They’re just so random and unpredictable which is what freaks me out.

    2. Puts a new spin on ‘life goals’ = ‘life goats’!
      Linda xox

      1. They’re both legends in their own fields!

        1. Yes! Too true! I think that he had enough of a sense of humor, and her enough self-confidence, that they would enjoy dinner together! Linda xox

      2. Certainly does.

  32. Ach! I’m so behind! Love the Einstein quote on so many levels. “To thine own self be true.” And congrats on 30K words, that’s amazing!! 😎

    1. Thanks so much! Absolutely, we need to follow our own path and dreams. 😊

  33. Pooja <3 … Amazing work! Love the quote, still hinky about giving credit where credit is deserved, but Einstein was a genius. I can't believe your parents aren't married, but serious congratulations on a beautiful commitment shared. They must be so proud of your achievements! 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! Yeah, Einstein did a lot for science 😊

  34. LOVE that you can put Einstein and Kylie Minogue in the same post! Linda xox

    1. Haha thank you!

  35. My husband just finished reading his book

    1. That’s so cool, did he enjoy it?

      1. Yes! he loved his autobiography

  36. It’s not necessary that all the things said by great people are always true or suit us. I’m not convinced with the view of Albert Einstein. Maybe he was too obsessed with his work. Family, and people are all important in life. Only work can’t keep you happy in life.

    1. True, often it’s about properly balancing the two. Actually Einstein was known for being awful to his family and only focusing on work.

  37. True about Einstein’s qoute, purpose comes first, though we might be pulled to make others happy more often but at the end of the day, we can’t quench all their thirst for they need to quench for themselves… congrats to your parent’s anniversary.
My week seems dull I planned alot of stuff but it didn’t go right maybe I’ll need more time to fully cope with my new schedule. Anyways wishing you success in finishing your books and Goodluck in posting the podcast twice a week.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote and yes absolutely. In the end, we should be the ones doing things to find our happiness. We shouldn’t rely on others for it.

Thanks so much and hope your weekend is good.

      1. Thanks and you’re welcome

A & J PEI Treasures/E Jean Simpson, BEd, BA, MA

Nice quote. Happy Anniversary to your parents!

    1. Thank you!

  39. Great quote, but I prefer another quote of his. “There are two unlimited things; The Universe and Stupidity. And I’m not sure about the universe. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Lol that’s a classic one 😅

  40. I’ve just bought a dolphin and put it in the bath. I slightly misheard. I thought Einstein said everybody needs a porpoise.

    1. Tell the dolphin I said hi, lol.
