At the end of the world was a mansion
Where the master had waited a long time
For the right person
Every night he attended gatherings
Hoping to find the one
He had all but given up
When a mysterious invitation arrived
He had been invited to the ice queens castle
So he travelled all the way to the other end of the world
He was amazed by the beauty he saw before him

And I don’t mean the mention
The ice queen stood before him
Welcoming him with both her beauty
And her talented playing of the violin

She sat on her thrown and shared stories
They had so much in common
The spark was there
Even this castle made of ice
Seemed to be on fire
From the heat between them
Slowly he melted her icy heart
And she calmed the storm within his

Soon they were married
And travelled the world together
Never lonely again
About “The End Of The World”:
This poem is a response to Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. He has awesome image prompts every week and they never fail to evoke one’s imagination. Do check out his site to see the images he’s shared for this week!

This poem has no deeper meaning or anything. It’s literally just me having fun with words. Trying to write a story in poetry form. It’s a nice little writing exercise for my brain more than anything else. Let me know your thoughts about it in the comments below!
