The End Of The World

The End Of The World

At the end of the world was a mansion

Where the master had waited a long time

For the right person

Every night he attended gatherings

Hoping to find the one

He had all but given up

When a mysterious invitation arrived

He had been invited to the ice queens castle

So he travelled all the way to the other end of the world

He was amazed by the beauty he saw before him

The End Of The World

And I don’t mean the mention

The ice queen stood before him

Welcoming him with both her beauty

And her talented playing of the violin

The End Of The World

She sat on her thrown and shared stories

They had so much in common

The spark was there

Even this castle made of ice

Seemed to be on fire

From the heat between them

Slowly he melted her icy heart

And she calmed the storm within his

The End Of The World

Soon they were married

And travelled the world together

Never lonely again

About “The End Of The World”:

This poem has no deeper meaning or anything. It’s literally just me having fun with words. Trying to write a story in poetry form. It’s a nice little writing exercise for my brain more than anything else. Let me know your thoughts about it in the comments below!

  8. I think I like the Ice Queen, and the concept of the Ice castle too… What kind of clothes do we actually wear when visiting such a castle?
Am never one for poems but this one is good… they say, words when written by the right person always find a way to the heart and mind.
    Good job, Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much, you can wear whatever you like in the ice castle because it’s magically never too hot or cold. Glad you enjoyed this one.

  9. Beautiful post 🌹🎸

  12. Comforting to know a woman’s cold heart can be melted by male heat. I presume you imply that the man loses his heat in the process. LOL

    1. Lol or she gains some heat 😅

  13. It was a well executed exercise Pooja. When I saw the heading of your post, immediately I the song “It’s the End of the World as we Know it’ by REM began playing through my mind. 💕📚

    1. Thank you so much. Oh I love that song but I didn’t even remember it when writing this 😅

  14. I like the story. It sounds like the second law of thermodynamics, but I guess that would take the romance out of it. 😀

    1. Thank you so much, it’s a fantasy world so I’m going to pretend thermodynamics don’t matter there 😉

  15. That’s a great story, fun and imaginative and the pictures are great

    1. Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed it.

  16. wow…weaved your wonderful words to the images so well… great, Pooja 🤍💫

      1. pleasure…as we enjoyed too🤗

  17. Wow! Well done! I saw a little similarity between the prison and the ice castle but the plot eluded me… way to go, tying multiple pieces of Kevin’s artwork into one story 😎👍

    1. Thank you so much! It was so much fun and I just felt like these images went so well together 😊

  18. Wonderful share

    1. Thank you so much.

  19. she hoisted her skirt

                    2. and for my sanity. in the eighth grade, i had an english teacher named geraldine. she forced me to journal and published several of my poems in the school year book. i took it as a validation

                    3. That’s great, I think most of us poets/writers start out like that. I won a poetry competition at school as a kid and have loved writing ever since.

                    4. nice. but i did not like writing at the time. trust me.

                    5. When did you get into writing?

                    8. or redundant lmao

                    9. No it’s still impressive, I write like one and need a week off lol.

  21. Eerie, I don’t know if I saw this post and didn’t register it (I’m pretty sure I haven’t looked at WP in the last 24 hours) or if we’re just on the same wavelength today, but I woke up and spent 20 minutes generating AI images of “The End Times” 🤔
