Inner Peace

Inner peace

How I crave thee

Just a moment of silence

Just a short vacation

From a mind that is never silent

All I want

Is to sit in nature

Enjoy the peace and quiet

All by myself

Taking in the scene before me

Nothing but trees and mountains

Inner peace

How I crave thee

About “Inner Peace”:

This poem is a response to fellow blogger, Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. I haven’t responded to any prompts for a while since I had other posts lined up. But I got the chance today and was happy to share this one. He has awesome NTT prompts every week, do check out his blog for more.

I’ve decided to switch the comments off for this post because I was pretty busy and was not able to respond to the comments on my last post. And I didn’t want to get too overwhelmed with the comments so I decided to switch the comments off on this post.

Inner and outer peace is something I constantly crave. Between living with more extroverted people and being an over-thinker, peace is a commodity in my life. That’s what this poem was inspired by. When I saw this image I thought, damn wish that was me. I have considered moving to a monastery multiple times, I have an aunt that lives at one. But I don’t know if it will ever happen.

I recently published my first book, All the Words I Kept Inside. If you’re interested and would like to read it, you can purchase it here.
