Mughal Restaurant Nairobi At JW Marriott Review And Experience
Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Mughal Restaurant. It was my sister’s birthday so we planned a little surprise dinner for her. The restaurant is located at the JW Marriott Hotel. Since it’s a beautiful place, I thought I would share my review and experience with you guys. So, here is my Mughal Restaurant Nairobi at JW Marriott review and experience.

The Ambiance
Before I start the review, I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to my cousin brother. He took all the pictures on his phone and went out of his way to make them look this good. They seriously look like they were taken by a professional. I told him he’s my personal photographer from now on, lol.
The ambiance was incredible. The amount of work that has been put into designing the restaurant and JW Marriott itself is phenomenal. And it was worth the effort. I mean, look at this place. And the photos don’t even do it justice, it looked even better in real life.

Just Me, Myself And I
Of course, I had to get a million pictures of myself since I was all dressed up. And from those million, I found a handful of ones where I look cute lol.
My sister thinks I look a bit like Kim Kardashian in these pics, what do you guys think? I don’t look like her in general but I can sort of see it in these pics. I think it’s because I look a bit more tan and the lipstick shade.
The Food And Drinks
We started with drinks. My cousin brother and I just got some soda. But my other cousin and sister got some fancy drinks they loved. Unfortunately, I forgot the names of the drinks.
For starters, they gave us this papad and makhana (Lotus seeds) for the table. And then we ordered the vegetarian kebab platter to share. It had veg kebabs, tikka paneer, tandoori broccoli, salad and stuffed mushrooms. It had a lot of vegan options on it which was awesome. If I remember correctly, the only non-vegan thing was the tikka paneer. Weirdly enough, I think my favourite thing on this platter was the salad.
For the main course, we ordered the corn kofta curry and paneer tikka masala curry with garlic and regular naan. I don’t really eat much garlic anymore as it gives me acid reflux. So, I just had the regular naan with the curry. Everything was delicious. The kofta curry was so different than any I’ve had before. I loved it so much.
Next, we ordered some vegetarian biryani. It was really good too but the seasoning was a little less for me, personally. But overall, still very delicious. And the quantity was impressive.
Finally, we ordered some gajar halwa as a dessert. It came with a side of ice cream. I didn’t have any since I hate carrots and the dessert wasn’t vegan anyway. They even wrote “Happy Birthday” for my sister which was so sweet. And they sung happy birthday too. It was awesome. And according to everyone else at the table, the dessert was as delicious as their other dishes.
Final Thoughts
What can I say, it was all pretty perfect. Other than the biryani, everything was so perfectly seasoned. It’s very difficult to get Indian food just right, especially at restaurants. But Mughal Restaurant did a fantastic job. I would so go out of my way to recommend it. Yes, it’s on the pricier end but it’s worth going to at least once. Maybe for a special occasion. And take your cousins with you because they’ll say it’s their treat and your wallet will thank you for it lol.
