Lenore

Lenore

He’s out there once more

Right outside my door

Like me he waits evermore

For our dearest, Lenore

Like him, my spirit too is sore

To her, I gave my soul

But she said it was rotten to the core

That she could take me no more

And now we shall see her, nevermore.

About Lenore:

This poem is a response to fellow blogger, Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. He has some great picks this week but this image just stood out to me today. He has awesome NTT prompts every week, do check out his blog for more.

This poem was, obviously, inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s, Lenore. Read it here. When I saw this image, I knew I had to respond. I haven’t been able to participate in his NTT prompts as much as I would like recently but I knew I needed to share this one. Poe is my favourite poet and Lenore is my favourite poem by him. It’s absolutely brilliant. And every time I see a raven, my brain just automatically thinks of this poem.

I guess this could be called my little tribute poem inspired by Poe. I’m actually pretty happy with it. Sure, it’s not the greatest poem I’ve ever written/will write but it was so much fun to write.

Also, comments will be switched off for this post. I’m a little busy so I think that’s for the best. And apologies that I couldn’t stop by your blogs today. Will do so tomorrow. Hugs!
