Marilyn Monroe Quote

Quote Of The Day

Marilyn Monroe Quote:

marilyn monroe quote if you can't handle me

What’s Up With Pooj?

Remember how I mentioned I had started working out. Well, to everyone’s surprise including my own, I’ve actually stuck with it so far. And I don’t plan on stopping any time soon since I actually enjoy it so much. I feel better mentally, physically and spiritually. Just not financially but that’s unrelated. Well, there have been some totally unexpected results from the working out.

Now, just a little backstory before I get to the results. I just started working out because I sit a lot for my work and wanted to be more active. I’ve also been feeling a little weak, physically (due to some health issues), so I thought this would help. My goal wasn’t to change my body or lose weight because I like how I look right now and feel I’m healthy enough as I am. Weight isn’t really something I think of as a measure of health.

Okay, so onto the results. The workouts have made my butt so round. It’s so funny because I had this patch of cellulite that made one cheek a little flat at the bottom (sorry if that’s TMI lol) but it’s just totally gone now. And it hasn’t even been a week of working out. I’m so happy with the (unexpected) results! I do 15 mins four times a week and thirty minutes three times a week. I also do yoga daily.

  1. Marilyn was an amazing woman, it’s sad that she passed so soon. I’m glad you are rounded out, Pooja! Keep up the good work too. ❤️😊

    1. She was, it’s definitely sad that she passed so young and had such a difficult life. Thank you, I’m loving the workouts and the changes ❤️

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja. ❤️❤️❤️

  2. Congratulations on the good results from working out! Becoming healthier is a process, but it will yield dividends for years if you keep it up! Many of the age related illnesses we see nowadays can be lessened with moderate exercise!

    1. Thanks so much! Yes, I very much agree- a healthy lifestyle can keep away so many mental and physical health issues.

  3. Oh man. They used to have a gym at work and I’d go 1-2x per week, plus yoga. It all helped me surf better. Then I retired, Covid came around and I found how awesome it was to binge NF while laying on the couch.

The gym’s open again. I tried once but it was like slogging through thigh-deep mud. But you’ve inspired me. Not for a cellulite-free butt, lol, but to help me go for those bigger waves 😎🏄‍♂️

    1. Yesss, definitely go back to the gym. It has so many benefits even minus the rounded butt lol. I’m sure it’ll be great for your surfing again 🏄🏻‍♂️

  4. One of her best quotes! Good luck on your health journey.

      1. Fingers crossed, something else comes up

        1. Don’t worry, I’m sure it will.

          1. I’m glad this one did not work out due to remote location, it’s totally cool yet in the middle of nowhere

  7. Glad you are enjoying your workouts, Pooja. I swim twice a week and go line dancing once a week, but I often dance at home. I like the way it makes me feel – I have so much more energy.

    1. That’s great, it’s good to always remain active. I’m sure she’ll do wonderful with the workouts!

    1. Thanks so much!

  12. That’s great indeed. Working out has so many advantages

    1. Thanks, yes it absolutely does.

      1. 🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  13. I find that quote to be disturbing. Mainly because the mindset behind it is totally self oriented. You can’t be that way and make a relationship work.

    1. I guess it can be interpreted as selfish.

  14. I’ve been watching the latest Marilyn documentary. So it’s interesting you shared quote of hers today..she was a complicated soul, with a complicated childhood. I wish we could get an honest biopic of her. But Hollywood will forever be about showbiz.
The week has started off busy.
Loving the enthusiasm about the vanishing cellulite… 👏👏 Stick with it. Proud of you, Pooja.

    1. Yeah, she had a really tough childhood and life in general. It’s so sad. True, I wish we saw the real her in movies/books.
      Thanks so much 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja..

  15. omg 1 week.. amazing.. I have a love hate with marilyn. Love her even tho she’s an enigma but with my dad’s obsession and “her” having to be at his B.D. party EVERY YEAR.. I’M OVER IT. I’m currently looking for an impersonator for his 90th. 😂😘🥺

    1. Lol I can imagine why that would be annoying. I think there’s so many impersonators for Marilyn he would love that 😭

      1. Totally… we’ll see.. 300 for 20 min.. i will tell him to pay if he wants her.. lol🥺😂

        1. Lol yesss that’s on him 😅

          1. I’LL SAY!!🙌🏽

  16. My goal is to work out 30-60 minutes a day. I usually walk, do yoga, or use weights in a pool. I do feel better when I exercise and I also sleep better. Keep on going, Pooja. You will feel better and for longer.

    1. That’s great, being active really helps a lot with health. I’ve been sleeping better after starting workouts too. Thanks so much.

  17. It’s a prudent quotation and also wise, I think. We have a need for tolerance and acceptance, after all. Sad coming from a life tinged in tragedy and taken by the same. I guess she should be famous for her work. Speaking of which, I’m glad the working-out has been so satisfying. This week I should make appointments to see specialists. But mainly I’m feeling an odd combination of stress and laziness. Maybe they go together. I hope your week continues to go really well.

    1. Yes, I think we need someone who will stick by us when times get tough. Her life was definitely tragic and have you heard about how she was buried? Or rather how Richard Poncher paid to be buried above her? So sad.
Thanks so much. I think we’re sometimes laziest when we’re stressed. It makes us procrastinate. Have a good week, make that appointment!

  18. Great quote and music 😊👍

    1. Thanks so much 💕

  19. lol, BUTTS!…..one of my running minions, a newer runner has complained to me that the more she runs the smaller butt gets….I pointed out to her to head to the gym and start doing squats….but, as well, all of us seem to comment on the size of her butt after every run…I guess the butt of a joke…and now at some time during our weekly runs we discuss the ideal size of a butt…it’s kind of getting out of hand…

    1. Lol my sister likes to joke about my butt too 😅

  20. About the Marilyn Monroe quote. I agree that we need to be handle each others ups and down. Last week I spent traveling with my son and his wife in Scandinavia, Sweden and Norway.

    1. Yes, I think it’s best to be with someone who can handle the ups and the downs. Oh wow, how fun. Hope you had a great time traveling.

  21. Good for you for sticking with your workouts. Showing up is half the battle! I’m glad you’re seeing great results too. I haven’t played that long in so long. Thanks for the throwback.

    1. Thanks so much and yes absolutely! Starting is often the hardest part. Glad you enjoyed the song. I hadn’t heard it since I was in high school but saw it in my recommended the other day and thought I’d share it here.

  22. Keep up the good work 🙂

    1. Thanks so much 🙂

  23. Love the quote, she is such an icon. Glad to hear your workouts are going well.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, she absolutely is.

  24. Giggling at this. I want a rounder butt too. Congratulations! 🙂

Love the Marilyn quote. You always find some great ones.

    1. Haha thanks! I can send you the glutes workout I do daily if you want, it’s so insanely simple you don’t even need a gym or equipment.

Thanks so much, glad you liked the quote 🙂

      1. I’d love that and would definitely try it. 🙂

        1. Sending it on IG now!

          1. Send you a message there. 🙂

        2. What’s your IG handle?

          1. stephbecause – It’s private but I’ll approve you of course. 🙂 I’ve followed you for years lol

            1. Lol omg I must have forgotten to follow back because I usually always follow back bloggers. Let me send it 🙂

  25. Great job on getting more fit, and I’m glad you aren’t tying that to weight. That’s not an indicator of health, in and of itself. I always feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually when I’m more active. Getting sick and then injuring my hip has limited my activity and I’ve been feeling it, but got out yesterday and felt great.

I liked the quote. It is a great reminder that we must accept ourselves and others as we are, good and not so good.

    1. Thanks so much. Oh absolutely, weight shouldn’t be a concern as long as you have a healthy diet and lifestyle. I feel better after being more active too. Sorry to hear that, it sucks when you can’t be as active as you would like. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, I think so too. It’s important to embrace the bad with the good.

      1. My pleasure!

And thank you. I’m getting better but it feels so slow. I did get out for a long bike ride today. It was sunny and unseasonably warm (27C, and 10 degrees above normal), a beautiful autumn day. Pushed myself a fair bit and am tired but in a good way.

I hope you have a good rest of the week!

  26. Okay – MM’s life is complicated. Did she intentionally overdose? or accidentally? Did the CIA kill her? to protect the president?
I’ve a picture of her smiling large in my ever changing cafe.
She made some great movies (the misfits). Who knows?
    The quote …/
Hang in there, Pooja, seems you’re moving in a good direction.
    Cheers.

    1. Yes, her life was quite complicated as was her death. She was beautiful but so tragic. Thanks so much. Have a great weekend.

  27. I am glad your workouts are going well. Maybe you will be able to do Jedi tricks soon 🙂

    1. Haha I hope so 🙂

  28. It’s great that you are enjoying your workouts! Keep it up.

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. You’re welcome! I started exercising in small increments on my stationary bicycle and it’s not as bad as I thought. lol

        1. Yeah, it’s tough the first couple of days but it gets better once your body gets used to it!

  29. Great quote. I like the attitude. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  30. One piece of advice I give to guys in the dating pool is to run away and then stay away from girls who proudly share that quote. Lol. I used to see it shared a lot on my social media timeline by women who seemed to kind of permanently live in “at my worst.”

    1. Haha that’s fair. I think quotes are often purposely misconstrued to explain and even excuse bad behaviour. Like this quote is about finding someone who loves you both when you’re happy and during low moments. And yet people can definitely use it to excuse being a bad partner.

  31. It’s good to workout. When i started, i loved it but my schedule makes it almost impossible to stay consistent. Keep it up!

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, it’s hard to stay consistent.

  32. Lovely quote. It is great that you stuck with the routine of keeping yourself healthy. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you so much!
