My Goals For 2025

My Goals For 2025 | How Many Of My 2025 Goals Did I Keep?

Happy 2025! Can’t believe it’s already here. Since it’s the start of the year and I’m feeling enthusiastic, I thought I would share my goals for 2025:

Enjoy My Own Company More

I’m usually someone who gets nervous to do things alone but this year I want to try to be more independent and do more stuff on my own. I really have gotten to a place where I love myself. And I want to spend more time with me because I’m super awesome and better than everyone else. Lol jk. But I am super awesome…

Take More Risks

I’ve always been introverted, anxious and shy so risks were not something I indulged in much. But this year, I want to take more risks. And honestly, just go for it instead of being afraid and then regretting not taking the chance.

Learn Guitar

I had hoped to do this one last year but didn’t quite get enough time. But this year, I want to spend more time learning guitar. The first step is to unpack it lol.

Publish A Novel

That’s right, this year I want to publish my first novel that I worked on most of last year. I’m super proud of it and I think (hope) that it will be published before the year ends.

Become A Bestselling Author

Obviously, this will come easy once my novel is published… Just kidding. I swear I’m not that vain (or am I?). So, with this one it’s not like I have to become a bestselling author or I’ll put my head in the oven. It’s more like I would love for that to happen and will try my best. If not, life goes on and I will just be super proud that I published a novel.

Post Regularly On YouTube And Social Media

I dropped the ball with posting on YT and social media last year. I don’t know how often I’ll post on social media even this year to be honest since it’s super draining. But I want to get more serious with YouTube. For the month of January, I want to post a What I Eat In A Day video daily on YouTube since it’s Veganuary. If you want to watch those, you can check out my YouTube channel here.

I also plan to do a lot more recipe videos and day in my life videos. If that’s something you would like to watch be on the lookout for that.

Cut Out The Negative

This year, I’m not letting any of the negative, toxic stuff into my life. I hope to have a positive year and I’m just very done with being dragged into drama. So, I will be cutting out anything or anyone that does not positively impact my life.

Exercise More

I think I tried hard to be more healthy last year when it came to food but I wasn’t great with exercising. I mean, don’t get me wrong I was trying to be more active and for a while I was. But not as much as I would have liked. This year, I want to work out every single day. Except when I’m unwell or something, I don’t want to push myself to a point where something healthy becomes unhealthy.

Try New Recipes

I love trying new recipes and this year I want to try as many new recipes as possible. As well as create my own recipes which I have been doing since last year. You’ll see some of them in my What I Eat In A Day videos.

Blog Regularly

Last year, I dropped the ball on posting regularly especially towards the end of the year. Which is fine, everyone needs a break and I don’t want to end up burnt out. But this year, I want to be more scheduled and organised so I can post more. Because oftentimes, I want to publish something and I have so many ideas for posts. Just not enough time to create and share them. So that’s something I want to work on.

Final Thoughts

Those are my goals for 2025, None of them are too difficult and I don’t plan to put too much pressure on myself. I’ll do the best I can. I’ll see you back here in 365 days to see which goals I kept, which ones I didn’t and moan about how it’s 2026 already lol.

What goals do you have for 2025? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be very honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. Ambitious goals, but knowing you a little Pooja. I think very do-able. Good luck!!

    1. Thanks so much, fingers crossed!

  2. all good…..guitar like everything is practise practise, paitence, and one note at a time…

    1. Yeah, absolutely. I think practice is vital and that’s the one thing I didn’t do last year.

  3. Those are some major goals. I’m sure you’ll get most of them finished. If you need a critic partner please let me know. My goal is to publish some short stories this year while I continue to grasp the ideas and actually write my novel 🙂

    1. Thanks so much. I would so appreciate that, I’ll message you on IG when the manuscript is fully ready.
That’s awesome, I really hope you’re able to publish this year and if you need anything at all don’t hesitate to reach out 🙂

      1. Absolutely! That be great! Thanks! Can’t wait 🙂

        1. You’re very welcome and thank you as well!

  4. I came back after a few years and just realized that I didn’t forget your profile, keep doing this!

    1. Oh yay, that’s awesome and happy to see you back here!

      1. Have a great year ahead of you!✨️🎉

        1. You too! 🥰

  5. Happy New Year, Pooj. You and I have at least one goal in common, my friend.

    1. Thanks so much. Fingers crossed we both achieve it. If we’re ever done with editing that is lol.

      1. While editing is one of the toughest challenges I face, my biggest blocks are when I finish a subplot and then must ask, “Well, what happens next?” because I don’t have a detailed outline for the novel. I have an ultimate goal for Jim Garraty, of course…just not a precise road map to get him there.

So…I hope that today I’ll have at least a clue about ‘What happens next.” I have a bit of a cold, y’see, and it’s not letting me concentrate.

        1. Oh yes, that is something I struggled with too when writing my first draft. I never have a detailed outline either and even if I do it goes out the window pretty early on.

Get well soon, get some rest first!

          1. Back in July of 2023, I thought I had a great idea for a “dark moment” subplot in the “Present Day” portion of the novel. I didn’t outline it, but in my mind it was almost a sure thing to add to the narrative…once, of course, I finished one of the “Jim in high school” chapters.

Well, once I closed that 1980s bit and began thinking about the next one, I had to start that “dark moment” subplot….and realized that the planning involved wouldn’t be easy to manage, at least not by a first-time novelist. (I would have had to research, among other things, the process a Columbia University professor needs to follow to get “emergency leave” in the middle of a semester. That was more trouble that it was worth, plus it centered on a tired trope – the female lead is in physical danger! So, I ditched that idea and moved on to the one I ended up using instead.

            1. Yeah, some of our ideas seem perfect at the time but when we get to adding them to the story for whatever reason they just don’t work out.

  6. Wow! That’s a big list! And there’s only 12 months in 2025, apparently. I think that I’m at the other end of things, I guess, having devoted a lifetime to achieving virtually nothing, but doing so as stylishly as possible. I like to quote Henry Miller (without comparing myself to him) as follows, ‘I have no money, no resources, no hopes. I am the happiest man alive’, but to which I would add ‘absolutely no ambition’.
Good luck to you though, buddy!

    1. Thanks! You know, happiness is always the ultimate goal so good job.

  7. Great goals, Pooja! Your attitude toward being published is wonderful. Sometimes, the Universe gifts us with what we want in ways we never expected it! Not putting too much pressure on yourself is the best ever New Year’s Resolution!!

    1. Thank you so much! That’s so true, the universe always knows best that’s what I’ve learnt recently.

  8. Best of luck with all your very admirable goals Pooja. 🥹🥹🥹

    1. Thanks so much 😊

      1. Most welcome

  9. These all sound like great goals, and I wish you good luck with them.

I don’t usually set goals; instead I set overall intentions that are less specific but still involve working on myself.

    1. Thanks so much. That totally makes sense, as long as you’re growing as a person do what works best for you.

      1. Exactly! Whatever works for each of us. 🙂

  10. I wish you luck and motivation

    1. Thanks so much, very much appreciated.

  11. Pooja, I hope that you achieve each goal! Enjoying your own company is one thing that I excel at, living by one’s self is most peaceful. i hope you learn to play a guitar of some kind, I choose the Bass guitar. Do publish your novel! 👍🏻😊❤️

    1. Thanks so much, fingers crossed it all goes well! Oh nice, bass guitar is very cool 😎

      1. It is cool! I love the low sounds.

  12. Happy 2025! Very doable goals I think! When we throw perfection out the window and just do the best we can, we surprise ourselves! Some goals will be more complete than others, and that’s okay! We can continue the growth the year after and the year after that too!

    1. Thank you! Absolutely, we have to just do our best and not put too much pressure on ourselves otherwise it defeats the purpose.

  13. Nice list, I wrote my goals but honestly I have only one goal,my goal is not to be too focused on them. I mean it’s good to have them and still live freely to enjoy yourself every day. Goals are for framing your thoughts right, approaching life as an adventure

    1. Thanks so much. That’s great, I think life very much is an adventure so approaching it as such makes a lot of sense.

  14. Lots of good and very ambitious goals! If you even accomplish half, I’d say you are super accomplished! Definitely enjoying your own company more, so you can finish that novel, and become a bestselling author! ✍️ lol 😜 wishing you all the best always and you got this! 🙌

    1. Aw thank you that’s very sweet of you to say! Hehe yes, more me time means more time to write 😅

  15. Best of wishes and luck, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much.

  16. Those are great goals. The novel is an exciting one. I’ve written a book as you know, but it wasn’t a novel. A novel is a bit more challenging, but you can do it. You certainly showed your talents in your amazing and powerful poetry book. I am looking forward to reading it and wish you a great 2025.

    1. Thank you. Yes, I think a novel is challenging in a different way and has really taken a lot of work. But I think even with a book like yours that’s non-fiction it takes a lot of work. Have a wonderful 2025.

  17. Great goals! Wishing you all the best in 2025

    1. Thank you, wishing you the same!

  18. All doable… I think.you got this Pooja. Best wishes for 2025. 💕

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  19. Good luck 👍
    🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

    1. Thanks ☺️🙏

  20. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year filled with love and laughter.

    1. Thank you, wishing you the best for 2025.

      1. Thanks

  21. Go ahead, this is your year..booja Happy New Year to you, my love 🆕🎁🙏🏻😍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

    1. Thank you so much, happy new year 🥳😊

  22. Sounds like ambitious, but good goals!

    1. Thank you!

    1. That’s so wonderful, I’m a very anxious person so I admire that you were able to leave the anxieties behind. That’s not an easy thing to do. Thanks!

  24. Those are great goals. I have not been active on my You Tube channel so intend to post there more often for 2025. I have a lot of work to do on my house yet, but I intend to focus on my creative work first and put renos as a secondary background project. Also a top priority is to read “All The Words I Kept Inside”, as soon as it arrives 🙂.

    1. Thanks so much. That’s great, good luck with YouTube. Renovation never ends but glad you’re not spending too much time on that. Yay, I’m very excited for you to read it 🙂

  25. All admirable. As for me – I want to travel the world, write more and photograph wonders, read, love my family and enjoy life with friends.

    1. Thanks. Wow, that’s a great goal and hope you can do just that!

  26. Best of luck with youtube. Video is a total time suck and I hope you can manage the time well 🙂

    1. Thanks so much. Luckily, I created the videos last month and have them ready. Just need to post 🙂

  27. For the last ten years my goals were always to write better and lose weight. Now they are to figure out how to sell what I wrote and resist old age.

    1. Selling what we write is always the hardest part. I think with resisting old age, it’s all about your diet and lifestyle. At least in my experience, changing my diet made me feel amazing.

      1. I have to admit, cutting back on dairy did wonders for my immune system, and I’ll never go back to fast food.

        1. Yeah, healthy eating makes a huge difference.

  28. I cannot settle on any resolutions this year. Two thoughts that keep coming to mind is “Be here, now” and the acronym D.I.N.K. (Do It Now, Kiddo) So I want to mull those around for a bit.l

You have a lovely list, Pooja! I can’t wait to hear more about the novel! One trick I do with my blog posting, (since I also work full time and at times work is all consuming) is set myself an easily attainable schedule and try to have at least 3 posts scheduled out. That way when a prompt strikes hot and flows, I can either reschedule what I had written for that week to a later date, or just post a bonus post for the week. Anything over my once/week schedule I consider gravy. This also allows me to put time in on writing some of my longer works and other projects instead of only writing content for my blog. 💞

    1. Hmm I totally get that, sometimes we just have to do our thing instead of setting goals if that makes sense.

Thanks! That’s actually really helpful, thanks for sharing what works for you. I want to try to keep posts scheduled too so I’m not left fumbling at the last minute and can write when I’m in the mood to.

  29. You got this! 💪

    1. Thank you! ☺️

  30. Those are major goals, Pooja, and I feel you will meet them. Good luck! ❣️

    1. Thank you so much, fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja!

  31. GREAT GOALS Pooja. I am confident that you will crush them or some of them. I pray GOD comes through for you on these goals. I forgot to tell you something, its 2025 so I am no longer a Comedian anymore, I will be sending jokes but not consistently as last year sister, I am a MAN now so got to be serious, haha. Anyways, go get them POOJA, YOU GOT THIS!

    1. Thanks so much. I hope so. I hope you have the best 2025 and as long as I get at least a couple of jokes I’ll be happy lol 😜

  32. Last but…Happy New Year to You dear Pooja🫶🌹🤗

    1. Happy New Year to you as well! 😊🤗💕

  33. An inspiring list Pooja! I believe in you! 🙌🏻🦋

    1. Aw thanks so much! 💕

      1. You’re very welcome and thank you for inspiring! 💕

  34. Rich Roll has a short vid on YouTube about resolutions and how it’s about small changes throughout the year, not big huge goals all at once….I’m following that…….and as for the guitar, lots of you tube vids, but find someone to teach you the basics, and practise in the long you’ll be glad you did…and a really weird question..how do you pronounce your name?…

    1. Interesting, I’ll check out his channel. Yeah a lot of great tutorials online for guitar. I found a good basic one I want to try out.
      It’s pronounced like Pooh-Jah

  35. Great goals 🙏 good luck 💯🧡

    1. Thanks! 😊

  36. best of luck with your goals for 2025, and congrats on publishing your book of poetry!

    1. Thank you, much appreciated!

  37. Good goals, Pooja! Go for ’em!–though I don’t really need to say that. You write about your goals likably, which I think is important. In fact, as much as possible, go likably.

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I want to have goals that I enjoy working on not ones I feel forced to keep.

  38. Great goals! I hope you get to accomplish them all and then some. Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks so much! Happy new year 🎉

  39. Happy New Year my fellow Jedi. Hope you reach your goals. I like a saying- if you reach for the stars, you will touch the sky

    1. Thanks so much, I love that quote too. Hope you have a wonderful year too.

  40. Good to have goals but our achievement doesn’t depend on us alone. We need to have the cooperation of a lot of people around us so add to the list motivating others to help me achieve my goals. 🙂

    1. So true, not only those around us but the cooperation of the universe because sometimes we can do everything right but life has other plans for us.

  41. May you accomplish all your goals and have lots of fun doing it dear pooja! Happy NewYear. ❤️🎈

    1. Thanks so much, Happy New Year! 🥳❤️

  42. Sounds like a worthy endeavor and doable Pooja! I love what you’ve done so far! Happy New Year!!!!! 🥂 xoxoxoxxoo ❣️

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I think they’re all doable minus becoming a bestseller. That one is a little more ambitious 😅
      Happy New Year! ❤️

  43. Such a good balance of goals, Pooja. It really feels like you have aims toward a full range of life. <3 Re recipes, have you come across Derek Sarno before? https://youtu.be/HPholqcK8_8?si=NlaAB2sHEXn-MQXB I think I'll try more of his recipes this year. Love the vibe of his videos too, just to watch and be encouraged.

    1. Thanks so much. No, I hadn’t seen his channel before but just subscribed because I see some great stuff. Thanks for the recommendation!

      1. Most welcome. Glad I could introduce him, since he just seems to be a very genuine person with deep feelings about living life in kind ways.

        1. Yeah, he does seem like a genuine person which I love because a lot of people on the internet aren’t that way.

          1. Entirely true. I also find his movements really soothing, the way he chops and cleans. ha

            1. I like the sounds too, it’s so calming.

    1. Thank you!

    1. Thank you!

  44. Wonderful goals! May the year reveal to your heart its abundance!

    1. Thank you so much, I hope you have the best 2025!

      1. You’re welcome!

  45. Happy New Year Pooja. Great to hear about your first published novel. I will definitely checkout your YT channel. I hope you accomplish all your goals this year. Stay healthy and happy always 😘

    1. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. Hope you’re doing well, it’s been a while 😊

  46. Great goals Pooja! Good luck

    1. Thanks so much!

  47. Great goals Pooja…all the best with them!

    1. Thanks so much!

  48. You have a full wish list, Pooja. May you see your goals become reality.

    1. Thanks so much, fingers crossed.

  49. Happy New Year, Pooja! Best of luck with your goals. ❤️

    1. Thanks so much! ❤️

  50. Wishing you the best of luck with all of your goals! Especially getting published, thats so exciting! ✨️💗

    1. Thank you so much! 😊💕

  51. Yessssssss I love goal setting! Let’s goal girlie…. you got this!

    1. Thank you and I love goals too!

  52. Learn guitar. They say it is an easy instrument to learn to play and difficult instrument to learn to play WELL. Just learn it faster than I have. I am taking lessons…AGAIN.

Here’s a fictional blog post which is actually autobiographical.

    https://laerdm.wordpress.com/2024/01/22/repeated-restarts/

    1. I’ll check it out, thanks for sharing.

It’s definitely far from easy but trying my best at it.
