Something Amazing Happened And I Can Finally Share It Here!

woman in white long sleeve shirt using silver laptop computer | Something Amazing Happened And I Can Finally Share It Here!

I have some amazing news to share and I’m so excited to finally share it here. It’s something that happened last month but I couldn’t share it till January. So, recently I joined Bluesky which has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for me as a writer. I met so many people in the writing community there. And one of the people I met, T.C. Westminster, recently started her own magazine. She was accepting flash fiction submissions for the magazine and the topic for the month was “End Of The World.”

Now, I have written short stories before but never flash fictions for a magazine. But last year was all about trying as many new things as possible so I submitted my response with not a lot of expectation. However, she was so cool about it and said she really enjoyed my submission. And that it was one of the best pieces she had read. I was questioning my writing skills at that point a little so the vindication was amazing.

I would be really appreciative if you took a minute to read the story as it is one I am particularly proud of. It didn’t take me long to write, it’s only 250 words, but I was really in the zone when writing it. You can read the story here. There are also great submissions from other writers too, you can read all of them here.

Check out T. C. Westminster’s book here. It’s a fantastic psychological thriller you’ll love.

What did you think of it if you decided to read it? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would love it if you took a minute to check it out here.

  29. That’s so cool! I’m on Blue sky as well, yet I always struggle to reach followers. I’ll definitely check this out. I started focusing on writing short fiction more last year and it has really benefited my skills and abilities 🙂

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it’s a little more difficult to reach followers on Bluesky but once you immerse yourself in the writing community and follow some likeminded people you’ll start growing and reaching a larger audience. That’s great, short fictions are definitely a good way to improve your writing skills. 🙂

  30. Congratulations!! 🎉 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    1. Thank you! ☺️

  31. Pooja, I’ve complimented you on your writing before. I really enjoyed your book of poetry, as you know. You are an incredible talent, and this latest story is additional proof. Stay well and have a great 2025.

  34. Good story, you all me scrolling up and down looking for more :-). But then again you did say only 250 words.

    1. Thank you. Lol haha yes that’s the problem with so few words a lot is left unfinished.

  35. Good story, you all me scrolling up and down looking for more. But then again you did say only 250 words.

            1. No worries 😊

  37. Congratulations, Pooja! 👏 I read your story and loved it. You build a mood and paint an excellent desolate landscape very quickly (I know you have to) but then change directions in a couple of words. Loved it! 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the story 😀

      1. You’re welcome! I’m glad you found a great writing community, too. It’s going to be a good year. 🙂

I loved your story. So captivating and beautifully written! I look forward to reading more 😉.

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it! 😊

      1. It’s my pleasure, Pooja! 💕

  40. Oh wow, I remember you saying you had something to share and you kept it from all of us. Congratulations to you as I know how much this means to you. I actually rather love the story before those big feet get the best of you or maybe you’ll grow wings!~. 👏🦋👏💓

    1. Haha thanks so much, hopefully the feet are good news not bad 😅

      1. Exactly, then I’ll read part 2.. lol 😂

  41. I like the story. Not that it’s a likable situation, though at the end there might be a note of eagerness in the narrator’s attitude. Or is it apprehension? I am reminded of dystopian stories I read a while ago, when a spate of them appeared (before the current spate). What I read was thoughtful, clear, concise. As is your style here. Congratulations!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, I think the narrator is both afraid and eager when they hear the footsteps.

  42. Off to the races and out in the lead ~ Brilliant start to the new year! <3

    1. Thank you, yes a great way to start the year especially because I want to focus more on my writing this year!

  43. You should be proud; it is a riveting read! Congratulations on your publication, Pooja! 👏🏻

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😊

  44. congratulations! I just read End of Days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Quite dystopian, with a good creepy ending. Well done! I wish you continued success.

    1. Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!

  45. Your short story is wonderful, Pooja. It was descriptive and led us to an exciting end with questions!

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!

  46. Edge of my seat, which is a great energy for 2025! Congratulations! <3

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!

      1. Very much. 🙂

  47. Wow that’s really cool. Congratulations

    1. Thanks so much.

  48. Congratulations, Pooja! A compelling and intriguing read. Well done!

    1. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

  49. Congratulations my fellow Jedi. Hope those footsteps are friendly ones 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, haha yes one can only hope 🙂

  50. Felicidades 💐

  51. Cool story Pooja contrats!

    1. Thanks so much!

  52. And the footstep belonged to???

    1. That depends on your imagination 🙂

      1. I have a very vivid imagination Pooja 🙂

  53. Love the story, Pooja! It’s very “Twighlight Zone”! 🙂 The only critique I’d offer is that if it were my story, I’d have considered switching the order of the first two paragraphs. The first line of paragraph 2 is more of a hook, and you don’t know what’s happening for that entire paragraph, so it builds suspense. But I really enjoyed it. The part about the “Push” sign is ingenious! It adds humor and at the same time an eerie realism. It’s hella hard to write something that tells a story in 250 words. Kudos! (But now I want the rest of the novel, LOL!)

    1. Aw thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the story. And very appreciative of the feedback 😊
The push/pull thing just came to me and I was like perfect little humour break from the intense story 😅

      1. That little bit is so relatable. For me, it was what got me invested in the character. She (?) didn’t seem two-dimensional at that point, which you might expect in a 250 word micro-story. Great detail!

  54. Congrats! Nice story too.

    1. Thanks so much!

  55. What a great story, Pooja! Very engaging. And congratulations on your publication in the magazine. That’s exciting!

    1. Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!

      1. You’re welcome!

  56. This is so cool!! I loved your writing, it makes me want more 🤣. I need to know what happens next but I guess that’s just the beauty of leaving it there, our minds can take it in any way. You fit a lot into so few words. Such a great achievement ✨️💗

    1. Aw thanks so much! Haha yes, I leave that up to your imagination 😅

  57. Congratulations! I read your short short and it captivated me to the end. Thank you for introducing us to the magazine. I’ve been looking for new resources like it. Keep on writing.

    1. Thank you, I’m so glad you enjoyed the story. And I’m happy to share the magazine, it’s a wonderful place for readers and writers.

  58. That was a tease of a bigger story Pooj. I liked it. I could visually see myself walking along the streets and see the destruction as well. Congratulations on having it posted in the magazine too. Your writing is very good in my opinion, you should not doubt yourself.

    1. Thank you so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I really appreciate you saying that.

  59. Congratulations Pooja!!!

    1. Thank you so much!

  60. I reposted this on my Bluesky! I appreciate the follow.

    1. Thanks so much, I so appreciate that!

  61. […] of you may remember the last post I did about sharing my story to Bunker Squirrel Magazine and getting published in their January […]
