Diwali And New Years Celebrations

Some of you may have noticed my absence from WordPress for the last few days. I have been trying to post more regularly and consistently for the last couple of weeks but with Diwali and New Years coming up I got preoccupied. And had guests coming over so I let real life take the front seat for now.

For those of you that might not know, this week has been Diwali and New Years. Diwali was on Monday and New Years was on Wednesday. Not all Indians celebrate New Years after Diwali as far as I know, I’m pretty sure it’s just a Gujarati thing. Now, I’m not the biggest fan just because I’m pretty socially awkward and can get a little overwhelmed in social situations. With New Years, so many people come over and my battery sometimes ends up at zero by the end of the day.

But this year has been nice, my neighbours are so generous compared to where we used to live. These ones sent us so many presents. We got lots of desserts and sweet treats including biscuits and homemade mini-donuts. We also got a bouquet, chocolates and a tiny Buddha statue which is perfect because my other Buddha statue broke and it was so dear to me. All these gifts and being around more cheerful neighbours made this time special for us. And don’t worry, we sent gifts too! Anyway, here’s some pictures of some of the gifts:

I hope everyone that was celebrating had a very happy Diwali and wishing you the best for this new year!

  5. Happy new year, it’s almost Halloween here
People celebrate it like there is no tomorrow
I feel out of place every time holidays hit

      1. I’m happy to hear that

  6. Diwali is a Hindu celebration so is celebrated wherever Hindus reside around the world and its not confined to the state of Gujarat. The whole of India explodes with fireworks during the celebration and it goes on for days. All those fireworks going on during the period create a smoke haze that covers the country and takes days to dissipate afterward. It is a time of joy.

    1. Yup that’s true however as I mentioned on the post, only Gujarati’s celebrate New Years after Diwali. Other Indians don’t celebrate New Years at the same time that we do. Diwali is celebrated by a large group of people however New Years is only a Gujarati celebration.

  7. I just woke up and found this post!

    Happy Diwali Pooja!🪔 🎉🎉

So I’m back from the break now. This post is relaxing and made me happy actually. Like social interactions aren’t bad all time.

The festivals make things lighter. We’re able to reconnect with eachother forgetting or giving less importance to our differences.

Hope things are going better with you.
I consider it a good restarting for blogging.

I’m so happy to see you or read you & meet you again.

  17. Indian Traditions Are So Colorful
And Full of Creativity Dear Pooja

    Glad You Are Enjoying Your
    Diwali Days in Kenya

    What i Appreciate Most
    About Indian Traditions is

    That Typically Folks i’ve Met
From India Don’t Push Their Religions
And Other Traditions on Others Making

    Like There is
    Only Way of

    Doing Life

    As of Course
    Some others
    Do Sadly to the Extreme

Yet True Some Folks Are More
Open Minded To Change and Others
Are Not i Suppose the Folks Overall on

    The Creative Writing Path
    Trend More Towards

    Open Mindedness
    And at Least Tolerating
    The Traditional Differences

    It’s All Truly
    Fascinating to me
    As There Are So Many
    Similarities at Essence
Where Folks Get So Tied up in Form..:)

    1. Thank you so much! Yeah, we tend to be pretty private when it comes to religion. It’s a personal experience.

      1. Sadly Here Religion is For
Buy And Sell If A Person
        Wheels And Deals IT

        Enough Dear
        Pooja They
        Can Obviously

        Use The Sell
        In Support

        Of Becoming
        A Super Villain

        Yet Impossible Without
        The Sell of The Target

        Audience

        The Congregation
        Of Group Think In Deed

        Fascinating To Study

        1. Yeah, it’s a sad thing because if they actually took the time to understand most religions strongly favour kindness and empathy towards others. I’m glad you’re living truly freely, not tied down by anything!

          1. Cheers to Kindness
            And Empathy for
