How Many Of My 2025 Goals Did I Keep?

My Goals For 2025 | How Many Of My 2025 Goals Did I Keep?

Every year, I like to look back and reflect on my goals for the year. So let’s see how many of my 2025 goals I kept:

Enjoy My Own Company More

Definitely did this one. I went out on my own more and did a lot more stuff alone than I usually would.

Take More Risks

Definitely kept this goal too. I did a lot of things that were out of character for me (in a good way). I stepped out of the box in many instances and it was amazing.

Learn Guitar

Unfortunately, with everything else going on my life this year I wasn’t able to even pick up my guitar much. I hope to do so next year though.

Publish A Novel

So, apparently the process of publishing a novel is pretty complicated and time consuming. Why did no on warn me?? Lol, just kidding. I knew it would be. I wasn’t able to publish this year but I did work on the novel a lot which I’m proud of. It’s my writing a novel so there were more unexpected twists and turns than anticipated.

Become A Bestselling Author

Since my novel wasn’t published this goal wasn’t achieved. That and that alone is the reason why I’m not a bestselling author yet…

Post Regularly On YouTube And Social Media

I think we can safely say I didn’t achieve this one almost at all. However, I have high hopes for next year and lots of content ready to post.

Cut Out The Negative

I truly worked hard on this goal and think I did the best I could with it. I let go of so much that was no bringing joy to my life and was instead making me unhappy and anxious. I’m proud of myself with this one.

Exercise More

I did exercise more this year but not as much as I wanted to. I’m hoping to do better in 2026.

Try New Recipes

I tried a lot of new recipes this year and loved almost every single one of them. Goal achieved, tummy full!

Blog Regularly

Okay, I did try with this one but I don’t think I blogged as regularly as I wanted to (6 times a week). But to be fair, I’ve had a tough year and oftentimes life got in the way.

Final Thoughts

Unfortunately, I think I only achieved a couple of my goals for the year but considering how much of a slap in the face this year has been I’m proud of myself for achieving them. And there’s always next year!

How many of your 2025 goals did you keep? Let me know in the comments section below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. Seems like your blogging goal was actually pretty healthy (especially compared to my rate of posting 😂). The simple act of having goals is huge – you’re leagues ahead of those who haven’t chosen any goals at all. You know what you want!

    1. Haha thanks so much!

  2. I don’t recall if I posted resolutions for 2025 (besides finishing and publishing “Reunion: Coda”). I did accomplish that one, though.

I’m happy that you accomplished a lot this year, Pooj. And that novel? It’ll be done when it gets done.

    1. I’m so glad you were able to finish and publish Reunion: Coda, any future goals with the characters?

Thank you and I feel the same way, it’ll get published when it does. I don’t want to force myself to publish before I’m ready.

      1. Aside from releasing an omnibus with the three Jim Garraty stories and uploading the occasional “Oops, I better fix this literary blooper in ‘Reunion: Coda’” fixes? I don’t know, really. There are a few minor episodes in the novel that might lend themselves to the “Comings and Goings” treatment, but I’m not going to force them into the limelight unless they insist on being extracted from their resting place. Storytelling is emotional archaeology, after all.

In the meantime, keep working on that novel and don’t push yourself excessively to finish it. (Don’t dawdle, either! Neither extreme is desirable.)

        1. That’s fair, I think the words come when they do. We can’t force it.
          Thanks, will do!

  3. You did very well, I hope you have a great 2026

    1. Thank you so much, have a great 2026 as well.

  4. Life happens while we’re busy making plans, but once you keep showing up that’s what matters. Still sounds like you made fantastic progress, cheers to an even better 2026 🙂 like you, I fell off the exercise wagon. I hope to be more consistent in 2026

    1. Yup, that’s the truth of it! Thank you so much, I hope we’re both able to be more active in 2026 🙂

  5. You pack a lot in one year 😀 and am completely amazed! I was going to learn sign language (nope), advance in piano (nah), but some big happy results achieved and a mountain more to climb. I’m happy for you and excited for that novel! We’ll get the “band” together eventually ~ lol ((( <3 )))

    1. Thank you!! 2026 is the year we make it in the music biz 😉🤭

      1. YES ~ 😀 It will never be the same (lol) 😉 !!!

  6. 2026 is coming soon, Pooja, go for those goals!

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. You are very welcome Pooj! 💕

  7. It is so nice to hear about the journey you have been through this year. Huge congratulations on the amazing milestone of finishing your novel manuscript! Your honesty about the other goals you missed offers a very healthy perspective for us all. Thank you for sharing the human side of the creative process. The way you stayed focused on what truly matters is deeply inspiring.

    1. Thank you so much, really appreciate your support!

  8. I loved the positivity you were having considering the context of everything you’ve been through! When you factor in all of that context, then you were an absolute ass kicker in my book! Look at you go! You deserve to have the best freaking 2026 imaginable! 💗🎆

    1. Thank you so much! You as well, I hope 2026 is awesome for all of us 😊

  9. I did not achieve any of my goals. Congratulations on achieving two.

    1. Thanks so much. Sorry to hear that, hopefully you’ll achieve them in 2026.

  10. You’re doing incredibly well, Pooja, especially considering all that was thrown at you this year! I’ve often considered how balanced you’ve come across, in the face of different kinds of pressures.

I just looked to see if I posted my goals last year, and it doesn’t seem that I did. I accomplished one of my “in the next ten years” big goals though, just in making the move to WA. 🙂 So I’ll call it a win.

    1. Thank you so much, that truly means a lot! I haven’t felt very balanced this year but I’ve tried.

      That’s a big goal to accomplish! 🙂

    2. I hope the move to WA is treating you well. “Hi” from Lynnwood!

  13. You did really well on your goals imho
As for mine I have to go back and look at them, I’m very proud I was reasonable and just kept going, it’s an achievement in and of itself.
My goal is to worry less and relax more. It is something I could always work more on. To make it happen I did some art and breath work, also stretching routine and dance breaks at work.

    1. Thanks so much. That’s awesome, I’m glad you were able to do that. It’s so much harder to be reasonable than we think.
I hope you achieve your goal, worrying less is something a lot of us are trying to do I think.

  14. You did meet more than 50% of your goals. Well done.

    1. Thank you so much. 😊

      1. You’re most welcome my dear friend

  15. A good time for reflection and a reset as time goes hurtling past!

  16. I would say that was quite a few goals and you did quite well. I tried guitar, I sucked.

    1. Thanks so much. I feel like I’ll probably suck at guitar too but worth a try lol.

  17. I don’t think I’m going to make new years goals or resolutions this year, I never stick to them, so I’ll only feel bad when I don’t achieve them, but you should be very proud, you achieved a lot of your goals, and almost achieved others. Xx

    1. That’s totally fair, life rarely goes as planned anyway! Thanks so much 😀

  18. Still quite the accomplishments, Pooja! 💞💞💞

    1. Thanks so much! 💕

  19. You accomplished a lot in a year, Pooja. I don’t make resolutions, but I achieved most of my goals. I’m looking forward to a kinder, and more peaceful 2026, I hope.

    1. Thanks so much. I hope 2026 does bring more kindness and peace too, this year has been rough.

      1. You’re welcome!

  20. Good job. I kept all my goals. I was definitely not eaten by a tiger. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Well, that’s one goal that you truly want to achieve in life lol 😂

  21. I did quite well being productive with my writing and blogging. You have also done well, So let us keep being progressive and optimistic in the new year. I wish you a joy-filled and healthy New 2026 Year!

    1. Thanks so much and that’s great. Wishing you the same, hope 2026 is a wonderful year for you!

  22. “You handled this year with so much honesty and resilience. Even the goals you didn’t hit show how much you grew. Wishing you an easier, brighter 2026

    1. Thank you so much. Wishing you the same for 2026.

  23. I think the goals you kept will help you achieve the others. Inside out, after all.

    1. Thank you, I hope so.

  24. Congrats on the ones you completed. As for the others, there’s always next year!

    1. Thanks so much and yes totally!

  25. Love! So fun to look back on our goals and think about how to move forward. Best of luck in 2026!

    1. Thank you and you as well!

  26. Keep working on the novel, and perhaps 2026 will be the year it’s published!

    1. Thank you, fingers crossed!

  27. I no longer set annual goals for I found them to be too stressful and not the best for my mental health.

Instead I shifted from goal or resolution setting to becoming more mindful of my time and energy, choosing to follow what I find interesting and what brings me joy. I’ve been following this method for a few years now and find it works well for me.

    1. That’s totally fair. And that’s a great way to spend the year!

    1. Thank you so much!

  30. Goal setting is always the way of progress and you are to be congratulated.

    1. Thank you so much.

  31. Congrats on what you did achieve! 🥰 These are fantastic goals and definitely worth being proud of!! ❤️ I’m wishing you the best on your novel and other desires 🙂 I need to sit down and figure out what I want mine to be for 2026. Have a wonderful New Year 💛

    1. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful 2026 as well 😊

  32. Well done with your goals. I find it inspiring. I am not sure if it is the same as goals, but I set some intentions. Most of my renovation intentions were achieved but not so much for my creative intentions.

    1. Thank you so much. Hopefully you can focus on the creative stuff this year 🙂

  33. Well done Pooja👏🤝, you did valuable contribution this year and I wish you all success 2026 year my friend.

    1. Thank you so much 😊

      1. You are most welcome

  34. Hmmm…not only did I not publish any 2025 resolutions/goals, I see that in 20 years of blogging, I NEVER have. Perhaps this is the year to fix that? Having some public accountability has to be a good thing, right?

    1. Yeah, maybe this is the year you give it a try.

  35. […] blogger I respect, Pooja with Life’s Fine Whine, posted a few days ago a review of 2025: How Many Of My 20025 Goals Did I Keep? For most of my blogging tenure, I have not posted such things. The closest I can find is this one, […]

  36. Puja, Impressive optimism considering your tough journey—you’re an absolute champion! Wishing you the most incredible 2026 ahead.

    1. Thank you so much, wishing you an amazing 2026 too!

  37. Congratulations on putting in all you could to make the year good, Pooja. Go easy on yourself with your intentions for 2026; you’ll get there!

    1. Thank you so much, yes I’ve decided that if I achieve my goals that’s awesome and if not that’s fine too. Happy New Year!

      1. You’re welcome. Great stuff. Thank you, too!

  38. Oh wow, this was such a real and honest year wrap-up 😄

Loved how you didn’t just list wins but also spoke about the misses without beating yourself up. That alone shows growth.

Enjoying your own company and taking more risks… that’s huge. Most people never even get there. And about the novel — just working on it through such a tough year is already a big win. Publishing will happen, and when it does, it’ll be worth it.

Cutting out negativity, trying new recipes, still showing up here even when life wasn’t easy… that’s strength.
The guitar, YouTube, bestseller goals… let’s just call them “still becoming” goals for 2026 😊

Really proud of how you handled the year. Sending a big hug and lots of good wishes for what’s ahead 🤍

    1. Thank you so much! 💗

  39. Very comprehensive set of aims. I’m confident that you will attain them!

    1. Thank you so much, fingers crossed!
