My Goals For 2026

My Goals For 2026

I’ve shared my goals every year for the last couple of years. I like it, it keeps me on track. So, without any further ado, here are my goals for 2026:

Publish My Novel

One of my most ambitious goals for 2026 is to publish my first novel. It took years to finish but I think it’s been worth it.

Learn How To Play Guitar

I’ve had this on my list for ages and I want 2026 to be the year that I finally learn to play guitar.

Decrease Screen Time, Especially Before Bed

I have an awful habit on being on social media on my phone before bed. It messes up my sleep and I feel like it’s ruining my attention span as well. This year, I want to decrease my social media time and screen time in general especially before bed. No screens an hour before bed.

Get Healthier

I did sort of eat healthy this year but I wasn’t great with it. In 2026, I want to really focus on eating clean and getting lots of activity throughout the day.

Work On My Relationship With Food

In 2025 I realised I still have a bit of an unhealthy relationship with food especially when I’m stressed out or experiencing negative emotions. This year, I want to eat when I’m hungry and not overeat.

Read Both Fiction And Non-Fiction Daily

I’ve been trying to get back into reading and it’s going really well. In 2026, I want to read both fiction and non-fiction and I want to make sure to read a little daily. Hopefully, my reading time will replace my screen time.

Meditate Daily

I seriously fell off with meditating in 2025. I want to get back into it and meditate daily in 2026.

Treat Yourself

My mum always jokes that I never treat myself and she’s kind of right. This year, I want to do more stuff for me. And it doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Maybe get a massage every few months, do an at home spa day, take a nice long bath. Stuff like that.

Travel

I have plans to travel a lot more this year. Fingers crossed it’ll work out.

Journal Daily

I did this for a lot of last year too and I want to keep up with journaling every day in 2026 as well. My therapist recommended it as a healthy outlet and it’s really helped.

Try New Things

I want to try as many new things as possible in 2026. On NYE, after midnight, my cousin and I were dancing for a while and that was a fun new thing I tried already. I never dance in public, I’ve mentioned that many times on this blog. But I finally did and you know what? It was a blast!

Drink More Water

As I’ve mentioned in earlier posts, I have a hard time drinking enough water throughout the day. Usually, I used to drink like a glass or two a day. Then I tried distance reiki and did start drinking more but it’s still not enough. I want to be drinking 1-2 litres every day.

Final Thoughts

So, those are my goals for 2026. I don’t know if I’ll be able to achieve all of them but at the moment, I have a lot of hope in my heart. Even if I just try my best, I think that’s enough.

What are your resolutions or goals for 2025? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear about them. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. My goals for 2026? Finish that literary project I started in October; hope that the Audible edition of “Reunion: Coda” turns out well; write a new story; stay sane.

    1. That’s exciting, good luck. The staying sane part is the hardest lol.

  2. Good luck with the water drinking. That is super important to a healthy body!

And I hope your travel goal works out. It sounds like you could have a lot of fun 😀

    1. Thank you, I know what you mean. I have so many symptoms of dehydration- something needs to change.

      I’m excited. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

  3. Those are a lot of good goals. I wish you success with them and I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year.

    1. Thank you so much, wishing you the same.

  4. Go forth and complete your goals, Pooja! You can do this!

    1. Thank you so much for the encouragement!

      1. You are welcome my friend! 🤙🏻😎❤️❤️❤️

  5. My main goal this year is to get healthy, lose some weight, eat right, and exercise daily! Good luck with your goals! You’ve set yourself a lot of goals for 2026!

    1. Good luck, you got this!

  6. These sound like great goals! One of my goals is to get my poetry book published.

    1. Thank you! Oh wow, that’s so exciting. Do you have a timeline for the marketing and publication yet?

      1. No, not currently. I’m aiming to self publish and I’m still researching all the things I need to do.

        1. Oh okay, that’s totally fair. Wishing you the best with it and if you ever need any help do feel free to reach out.

          1. Thank you! Will do!

  7. I normally don’t do resolutions, but I need goals for 2026, so maybe?

    1. Maybe this is the year you start?

  8. My goal’s to finish the first draft of my novel by February. Realistically, it’ll most likely get done no later than March. Then by the autumn, send it out to agents.

    1. That’s exciting, I’m sure it’ll go smoothly and I hope you’re able to find the right agent for you.

  9. Get that guitar going! I’m a music teacher, though, so I have that bias going for me 😂

    1. Thank you! Well then you know the importance of playing at least one instrument 😅

  10. You’ve totally got this! You’re going to kick this year’s ass! Show 2026 who’s the boss! 😎

    1. Thank you so much! ☺️❤️

  11. Great plans/goals, I’m sure you will accomplish all.

    1. Thank you so much.

  12. One of my goals for 2026 is to drink 1.5 litres of water daily. It’s a challenge to get it in especially on days when I’m super busy.

    1. Fingers crossed it’ll work out, drinking enough water is so important.

      1. It really is but I also remind myself that eating fruits like watermelon also helps contribute to the water intake.

        1. That’s true and it’s supposed to be 8 glasses of liquid so juice etc counts too.

  13. Sounds like good goals.

    1. Thanks so much.

  14. Happy new year, Pooja! You have great plans for this year. Wishing you the best!!

    1. Thank you so much, wishing you the same!

  15. I think dancing one song a day is a great workout, only 3.5 minutes that make a huge difference. I wanna do it more often at work. It’s pretty cool!

As for the food, I learned that if you stress out chewing gum before / after the meal might help. It calms you down and helps the digestion.

I eat healthy most of the time but I want to try and eat with good thoughts/ slow breathing. They are more important for my overall wellness. Strange as it may seem, you can eat junk food and feel better if you are at peace and feeling happy. As opposed to eating good food and thinking bad thoughts, stress eating and rushing it. I’m working on it which is not an easy thing to do, with so many years of bad habits eating fast and angry

    1. Yeah, it’s like a full body workout!

Interesting, I’ll give it a try. It’s true, eating mindfully is important. Habits are hard to change but some changes are needed in life.

  16. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  18. Writing goals is easy; attaining them is harder. My goal is is relish every moment as much as I can. This is a 4000 week holiday in reality – not even a blink in eternity. Life is short. Embrace every second and wring it dry. From sunrise to sunset, full moons, stars, rocks and crashing waves, holding hands, love and creation, the flames of a wood fire, the taste of a fine wine, the softly chewed flavour of a special meal. Delight and relish. It’s precious. It’s the little things.

    1. So true, this novel was so much harder and more time consuming than expected. So agree, life is so short and so precious. We have to live it while we can.

  19. I wish you success in achieving all these goals.

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate it.

      1. You’re welcome my dear friend

  20. Good luck with your goals.

    1. Thank you so much.

  21. I love the idea of the ‘treat yourself’. So many times I treat myself as an afterthought….sounds like I need to steal that idea as well. Now to figure out what that looks like for me! 💞

    1. Agreed, we rarely put ourselves first but I think 2026 is the year we should consciously try to treat ourselves sometimes! 💗

      1. Sounds like a plan! Now to mull over what that looks like…..

  22. Very ambitious goals. Hope you can achieve them. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Thanks so much, fingers crossed 🤞🏽

  23. Those are all good goals! My goals are to get more exercise, eat healthier, and drink more water, as well. I wish you much success, Pooja!

    1. Thanks so much and best of luck with yours too!

      1. Most welcome! 😊

  24. Happy New Year. Wishing you a successful and amazing 2026. Crush those goals!

    1. Happy New Year, thank you!

  25. Congratulations on the dancing! What a brilliant way to cross over into 2026, Pooja! I’m seriously excited about that. :))

I’m still musing about my 2026 goals, even though it’s January 2nd. It’s a big change of vibe for me, to be sort of moseying into the new year instead of being ready a month ahead! 😀

    1. Thank you! It was so out of character for me but brought me so much joy 🤩

I feel you, I’m one of those people that plan ahead too but I think the right goals will come to you at the right time!

  26. Happy New Year Pooja! 🫶🏼
Those are some great goals. I hope you meet each one.

    1. Happy New Year and thank you so much! 😊

  27. Wishing you the best, Pooja!

  28. You’re off to a wonderful start! 📝🌟

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

  29. I like the “no screen an hour before bed”, I don’t even have the phone in my bedroom…More Reiki in the works for you my dear!

    1. That’s smart, I wish I could do that but I need mine for my alarm lol. Maybe this is the year I switch to using a clock. Yes, I think so!

  30. My goals include practicing Pilates and putting more effort into my looks again, for myself. You have solid goals. Good luck with them!

    1. That’s great, good luck with your goals too!

  31. Love these goals! The no screen hour before bed is something I need to take up. ❤️

    1. Thank you, so many of us do! ❤️

  32. Great goals. I wish much fun for you while you work on achieving each of them. My main goal for 2026 is to wake up enjoy every day.

    1. Thanks so much. I hope this is the most enjoyable year for you.

Hope you meet most of your goals. Happy 2026!

    1. Thank you! Happy 2026!

  34. My uncle Tim taught himself how to play guitar when he was a youth. I play ukelele and harmonica. I’d like to learn how to play those instruments and more this year. I’ve been listening to Wendy Jones guided mediations each morning for four days in a row and they’re really helping to calm my mind and thoughts. Plus I enjoy, reading on my kindle first thing in the morning instead of scrolling online 🙂

    1. That’s so cool, wow. I’m so glad, I’ve been trying to get back into meditation for the last two days and so far so good.

      1. Cool beans. Happy to help 🙂

  35. Nice new year resolutions. I pray you get strength to achieve all your goals for 2026,❤️Pooja❤️

I didn’t see any relationship goals.

    1. Thank you so much ❤️ No relationship goals at the moment 😅

      1. OK. You’re welcome 😅

  36. Wow, your list of goals is quite long! The nice thing is many of these can be done quite gently.

My daughter started buying the flavor packets and big drinking containers for her and her youngest daughter when they decided to switch from drinking sodas to drinking more water. I drink tea with lemon and during the winter months I add a packet of EmergenC to help fortify my immune system. I tried drinking water only but felt tired, so I went back to my tea.

I wish you well in accomplishing all these things, remember to have fun, or find ways to add fun into those activities!

    Blessings to you!

    1. Thank you so much!

I tried the flavour packets but they didn’t work for me, I didn’t like them that much. I prefer tea or juice too.

      Will do!

  37. Wow Pooja, that’s a very ambitious plan. I think many of the things will help the others, eg, expanding your reading preferences and trying something new will give you more to write about. Guitar is def a great one, even knowing 3 or 4 chords will be satisfying and let you sing at the local coffee shop… hey, cmon, gotta admit, it’s new 😂 But seriously, very calming and enjoyable.

Good luck with the novel! 😎

    1. Thank you so much! That’s true, I think they’ll work well together. 😊

  38. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! I’m sure you’ll accomplish everything on that list ❤️

    1. Thank you so much! 😊❤️

  39. Amazing list… I will definitely join in on a few 😎

    1. Good luck 😊

  40. You’ve made amazing strides, Pooja! Congratulations and your book coming soon is to be commended! ❤️🙌🏽❤️♥️

    1. Thank you so much!! ☺️❤️

      1. Always! I’m your biggest cheerleader or nightmare.. hahah

  41. Publishing the novel, guitar, journaling, meditation, healthier food, kinder relationship with yourself… this isn’t “do more” energy, it’s “live better” energy and that’s such a refreshing shift.

And the screen time before bed one… totally with you on that, it quietly messes up everything.

Really rooting for you this year. Even if a few slip, the mindset you’re walking in with already feels strong. Wishing you a year of steady progress, small joys, and lots of good chapters ahead

    1. Thank you so much, so happy to read your lovely comment. 😊💗

  42. I like how a lot of those goals are small ones. So many people set goals that can be hard to complete. Now, I did not say that your goals are easy though. For the new year I have only one definite plan so far and it is to finish writing another book. Otherwise 2026 will be a continuation of 2025 but only better.

    1. Yeah, I wanted to keep them doable. Good luck with your book, that’s a very exciting goal.

      1. Thank you. I am looking forward to your novel but like I said in the past, for me writing a novel would be too much. I get bored quick and lose interest. You should be proud of yourself Pooj.

        1. Thanks so much and that’s totally fair.

  43. These are all really good goals. And congratulations on your book publication!

    1. Thank you so much!

  44. Happy New Year 🎉

    1. Happy New Year 🥳

  45. Such good goals and I especially approve more treating yourself first and dancing in public (lol) = Happy New Year ~ <3 !!!

    1. Thank you so much- lots more dancing to come lol! Happy New Year 🥳

  46. Getting healthy is also a goal I have. It can be hard to keep things going. Life can through you curveballs and before you know it, that healthy routine is not so routine anymore. Some good choices have helped me. Doing the stairs instead of the elevator and even replacing junk food with healthy snacks.

    1. True, sometimes we have the intention to be healthier but life has other plans. That’s great, even eating healthier and taking the stairs can make a difference.

  47. my goals for 2026 are to get healthier so i can enjoy a cruise we have planned for later in the year

    1. That’s a great goal and I hope you’re able to do that.
