Recently I had the opportunity to try distance Reiki with a fellow blogger on WordPress that offers Reiki among other things. I’ve always been curious about Reiki and I’m trying to do new things this year so I was really excited about it. I thought I would share my experience with you guys today.
If you’re interested in learning more about Reiki and booking a session- read more about it here.
Peace/Relaxation
You may not know this about me (you may have guessed though lol) but I’m someone with an extremely active mind and tend to ruminate on things. It’s something I’ve been actively trying to work on but I honestly just have no chill. I have the hardest time sitting down and doing nothing. My mind tends to wander off, and it doesn’t help that I no longer meditate daily. It’s been a rough year and being alone with my thoughts isn’t something I’m always able to do.
During the distance Reiki session, I was told to find a quiet, calm, and comfortable space, and did so. Usually, I have a hard time shutting my brain off but it felt almost effortless during the session. Both my mind and body felt at ease. My shoulders were no longer stiff, my wrists and hands no longer felt overworked, and my mind stopped ruminating and overthinking. I felt this calm wash over me, like a breath of fresh air. This feeling remained after the session ended and I’ve noticed a significant decrease in my rumination/ruminative tendencies.
Hydration
I thought I would also talk about how the session affected me aside from helping with relaxation. Firstly, as you may remember, I’m a very dehydrated person. I don’t drink much water, I drink maybe two or three glasses a day on a good day. Honestly, I just never feel thirsty that often.
However, I think the distance Reiki session helped me connect my mind and body better because I noticed that, for the first time, I actually felt thirsty and have been drinking more water since the session. At least 5 glasses a day.
Screentime
I have a (bad) habit of scrolling through social media, especially before bed. I think it’s because I’m tired at the end of the day and just need a distraction from my thoughts. But I’ve been trying to reduce that for the last few weeks, and on the day of the session I actually didn’t even get on social media at all before bed. That was definitely a first for me.
Overall
I was very satisfied with the distance Reiki session and felt that I got what I was looking for from it. My goal was to better connect my body and mind and be more relaxed/at ease, and that’s what I got. I would really strongly recommend giving Reiki a go if it’s something you feel you will benefit from. Especially if you’re like me and tightly wound, treat yourself to a relaxing Reiki session.
Reiki And Other Services
If this sounds like something you would like to try out, LightSoul Holistic offers a number of different types of Reiki sessions- in-person, remote, and virtual. They also offer crystal healing, transpersonal hypnotherapy, and past life regression. If you’re looking for relaxation, letting go of the past, trying to stop ruminating, or just want to treat yourself to some self-care, I think any of these would be a great option.
