Nothing To Write

Nothing to write

But still filled with delight

A secret to share

If any of you care

Something special is coming soon

It’s sending me over the moon!

About “Nothing To Write”:

I have been incredibly busy today but in a good way. And I was wondering what I would share on the blog since I hadn’t prepared anything in advance and didn’t have any ideas. I closed my laptop, thinking about not posting at all today. But then this little poem popped into my head and I was like well now I have to write it down.

It sucks not having as much time for blogging these days but the truth is the reason I’ve been busy is a happy one. I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my book. Or rather, the amazing women I’m working with are helping me put the finishing touches on the book and getting it ready to publish really soon.

It’s a really exciting time because this is my first novel and I literally have put my blood, sweat and tears into it. And I truly hope everyone that reads it feels like it was worth reading.

What did you think of this poem? Do you try to make time for blogging daily or do you take frequent breaks from blogging? Let me know in the comments section located below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. Sooo cute! Love how we both have writers block lol

    1. Lol we’ll get over it eventually!

  2. If I only blog three times a month, I don’t have to take breaks lol it’s just my new schedule, right?

Blogging is something I do for fun anyways,
And if I don’t blog for days
    It’s still okay,
They say just cease the day,
    Enjoy the ride,
    Forget your pride,
    There is nothing to hide
About the fact that I have nothing to write

    1. Lol I think you’ve cracked the code. I think it’s fine to take some days off, life shouldn’t be too rigid.

      1. Time off is legit especially if it serves you well

  3. Yay on getting your book completed, Pooja!! Since I run a photography site its easy to have something to post on the site. Maybe you can just write whatever strikes you that may be interesting to others?

    1. Thanks so much! True, there’s always something to post with images/photography and you have really great ones. Yeah, I think that’s exactly what I’ll be doing! 🥰

      1. 🤙🏻❤️❤️

  4. Too difficult to keep inside – happiness is irrepressible Pooja – lovely to see in another too

    1. Thank you and yes, it’s such a wonderful feeling.

  5. I blog every day. I’ve only been unable to do so a few times, particularly during my three most recent moves (Tampa to Madison, NH, Madison to Miami, and Miami to Orlando). Since my arrival here, a one-day Internet outage prevented me from blogging.

    1. That’s impressive, I think it’s fine that you didn’t post with the moving and outage since that’s out of your control.

  6. A lovely poem Pooja. Hope you get good news soon.

    1. Thanks so much 😊

      1. You’re most welcome

  7. What a lovely, honest little spark of a poem
There’s something quietly magical about “nothing to write” turning into exactly the right thing to write. It feels spontaneous, light, and sincere like a note scribbled straight from the heart rather than the head.

I especially enjoyed how the poem mirrors the moment you describe: full days, a busy mind, yet an undercurrent of joy and anticipation. That sense of something special coming carries beautifully, and knowing it’s connected to your first novel makes it even more meaningful. You can genuinely feel the excitement and the love you’ve poured into your work.

As for blogging, I think posts like this are a perfect reminder that creativity doesn’t have to be constant to be real. Sometimes stepping back, living fully, and returning when inspiration taps you on the shoulder creates the most authentic content.

Congratulations on publishing your first book that’s a huge milestone, and so well-earned
Wishing you every success, and looking forward to reading more whenever something (or nothing) calls you back to the page.
    Vijay

    1. Thank you so much, it’ll be my second book though and first novel.

    1. Thank you so much 😊

  11. Congratulations on finishing your first novel, Pooja. ‘Nothing to write’ turned into a lovely poem too 🙂

    1. Thanks so much. Haha yes, it did 🙂

  12. An achievement Pooj. Well done!

  13. Yep, I think all bloggers know that feeling of wanting to write “something” but having zero idea of what. I used to look down on those who used the daily prompts to write blog posts (and to be honest, I still do, just not as much, hahahaha) because I was like “use your own ideas”. Which sounds great, until you run into a situation just like you describe where you HAVE no ideas. So I try to be a little more merciful now towards those people 😉

And congrats on getting towards the end of finishing up your book. I hope it goes well!

    1. Honestly, I did look through the prompts and still felt uninspired. They’re not very interesting questions imo. Lol, we don’t judge but we judge a little 😅
      Thanks so much!

  14. Hey, if you’d like another pair of eyes on your novel, reach out! 😊

    1. Will do when the proofreading is done, thank you so much! ☺️

  15. It’s a great little poem. Very positive. Good to see you away from the darkness. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Thanks so much, trying my best to focus on the positives 😊

  16. Sounds like an exciting time for you, Pooja! I think it’s okay to take occasional breaks so that blogging doesn’t feel like an obligation, balanced with keeping content out there for one’s audience. I just took a break, but announced it in advance, and tried to keep to the timing of the break. Part of that is that I look on blogging and writing as a daily discipline to keep my skills honed, as I don’t use AI.

    1. It very much is! Yeah, I think blogging should be enjoyable more than anything else. And it’s definitely a good daily habit too when we can.

  17. Last week I realised I was so busy and tired that I forgot to prep content. Same thing happened this week so I know I have to find the time this weekend to create my posts.

    1. Yeah, that happens when we get really busy and too tired to create any content.

  18. Congrats on completing your book, Pooja, and I love your poem. Most of my posts are in response to prompts from fellow bloggers, which I end up of posting every day except Sunday. I use Sunday’s for scheduling, and blog maintenance. Also, I need time to write for PoetrySoup, and Spillwords Press. Three of my poems were just accepted for PoetrySoup’s upcoming anthology.

    1. Thank you so much. Yeah, that makes sense to take a day off every week. And congratulations on the poems being accepted, that’s great.

      1. You’re welcome, and thank you, Pooja.

        1. You’re most welcome too.

  19. I’ve nothing to say, but yesterday, I went and said it anyway. Perhaps you heard not every word. Was I unclear? Perhaps I slurred. And so tonight I might just write something simple, something trite for you to read as here I bleed my heart out on which you might feed and feel me care. But dare I touch you anywhere? Because, as always, I’m just here , and, as always, you’re just there.

    1. Sometimes we have the most to say when we have nothing to say.

  20. Pooja, exciting news about the book! Can’t wait to hear more 😎

I try to blog regularly, but it’s draining creatively and mentally. I try to check in on folks who’ve responded to any of my recent posts and read their content thoroughly. But there are so many talented and nice people in WP land that it takes time.

So sometimes I’ll just duck into my burrow for a week or so to recharge and get the creative juices flowing. To me, the relationships are just as important as the writing and I don’t like to let great stuff go by unrecognized 😎❤️

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I think forcing yourself to do anything, even stuff you enjoy, can be draining. Agreed, it’s important for most bloggers to read other people’s content as well. 😊

  21. Even though I don’t post daily, I try to write daily on my posts if that makes sense. I never want to fall out of the routine.

That’s great news about your book. I’m so happy for you!

    1. Yup, totally makes sense- you want to make it a habit to write daily. Thank you!

  22. A novel! How amazing – congratulations! 😍

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. So welcome! Enjoy seeing it out in the world!! xx

  23. Waiting for the secret.

    1. Coming soon 🙂

  24. I blog daily! My day isn’t complete if I don’t write! I look forward to reading your book when it comes out!

    1. Thank you so much!

  25. I like your poem. It definitely conveys the excitement of your pending book. I have not made any time lately for blogging. I have been learning more about YouTube and music recording, so that has been taking me down some strange rabbit holes of distraction. I have to focus more on doing than learning how to do. Just like the Nike ad says, “Just do it” 🙂

    1. Thanks so much. That’s cool, I get like that and neglect blogging when I’m otherwise preoccupied too. Sometimes those first steps are the hardest. 🙂

  26. You turned nothing into something. Amazing! Congrats on the novelll🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

That’s great. Good luck with the process.

    1. Thanks so much.

  28. So — even with ‘nothing to write’ you still have something to share that is valuable! Sometimes it happens that you don’t have something specific to write — but that’s OK! And, congrats on the book!!!

    1. Haha yes, it seems to. Thank you!

  29. Congratulations on your nove I try to blog regularly but l get distracted with a lot of other things.

    1. Thank you so much, I’m the same way and get easily distracted too.

  30. Congrats on your novel! I try to write every day but blog only Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays so I can focus in a bit more and not feel tugged in too many directions. Gives me space to work on other projects with more focus like my book and sharpening my writing tools by learning too.

    1. Thank you so much and that makes sense to leave time aside for other stuff too!

  31. Excited for the book!!!

  32. Yayyyy it’s coming soon!!
    ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Very soon! ❤️

  33. Excellent poem Pooja, listening to hindi melodious music is one way to overcome writing block, best wishes for your coming book👍👌

    1. Thanks so much. Music certainly does help with writers block ☺️

  34. Happiness is free 💋🌹🌺

      1. That’s prefect

  35. great poem – short, sweet, rhyming, and to the point!

I know all too well what it is like to have nothing to write 🙂

congrats on nearing the finish line with your book!

    1. Thanks so much! Haha yes, I know you know the feeling well but great to see you writing again 🙂

      1. it does feel good to be blogging again, but this time without as much self-imposed pressure 🙂

        1. Yeah, I remember you were blogging daily for quite a while. That’s a lot. This time, I hope you have fun with it 🙂

          1. It was fun back during my daily blogging, but I got a little obsessed 🤓

            1. That happens sometimes 😅

  36. I don’t post daily, but I do try to read daily. (I’m currently 5 days behind in the reader, lol)

    1. Lol I try to keep up but most of the time I’m late to posts too.

  37. You are most welcome, exactly Pooja

  38. Enjoy the excitement and expectation of what comes next, dear Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much, trying to do just that.

  39. I like the poem it’s cute. So many times lately I sit and ponder what to write.

    1. Thanks so much. I think most of us writers experience that.
