Cave à Manger Review And Experience

Cave à Manger Nairobi Review And Experience à Manger

Last week I shared this post about our time at my absolute favourite restaurant in Nairobi called Cultiva. Well, after Cultiva we decided to grab some dessert and keep the party going. Not much was open so we ended up going to Cave à Manger which looked like a beautiful restaurant and had good dessert options. Here’s my Cave à Manger review and experience.

Aesthetic

It’s so funny because when we first reached the building we were like are we in the wrong place? It looked really not inviting. But the restaurant is all the way inside and we decided to give it a go. So we kept walking and it turned out to be so beautiful inside. Talk about not judging a book by it’s cover lol. Also, it was December hence the Christmas decor.

The Food

These are the desserts we ordered. I honestly can’t remember the names, my apologies.

I wish I could say they were great but they were okay. Not bad but also just okay. Sort of disappointing because I remember them being on the pricey side.

Final Thoughts

The place was so lovely but the desserts were pretty mid. I did see a lot of people coming in for dinner though so I’m assuming the food might be really good. And maybe we just picked the wrong stuff to try. The service was good, the place was nice and the vibe was on point so I won’t say it’s a bad place to try out or anything. I just thought it was a bit expensive for what we got and the desserts were not something I would go back for.

    1. Cultiva is amazing, definitely one of the best restaurants here! Have you tried Slate Restaurant? It’s so good, probably my second favourite after Cultiva.

      1. No I haven’t been to Slate but I will now that you’ve recommended it. I love Dawn!! I’ve gone 3 weekends in a row. Check it out … it’s at the Promenade!

        1. Ooh I’ve always wanted to go to The Promenade- will definitely check it out thank you for the recommendation!

  7. In my head I was reading the restaurant name Mang-er and thought what a strange name, but then realized it was French so would be pronounced “mawn-jay”. It is been a long day, lol. I love the xmas tree.

    1. Haha yeah, it’s pronounced the French way. Some days are just like that, hopefully this one will be more relaxed.

  10. If the food/dessert at a restaurant isn’t good enough to go back for again, well, that usually means the place wasn’t that good to begin with.
