Quote Of The Day:

Quote Of The Day, William Shakespeare Quote

What’s Up With Me?

As I am sure many of you have read in my last post, I very recently embarked on a business journey with my sister. Although her and I are vastly different people and often don’t see eye to eye, we are both (I believe) good business women. And I really hope our new business, Clickatripafrica, is a success.

For those of you wondering about my health, I am fully recovered now but the problem is that my cough just will not go away. It’s quite frustrating and I am out of cough syrup. And I don’t want to take more cough syrup anyway because although it was helping me write it was also giving me really bad acid reflux. Something I rarely have and do not want to have more of.

Since it is December (I know this year has gone by too quickly!) I have been thinking a lot about 2023. And in particular I have been thinking about what I want to achieve next year. I already have some goals in mind but I have been thinking about more. I want to have a mix of longterm and short-term goals. That works best for me because I feel like short-term goals help me feel like I have accomplished something and that I am moving in the right direction.

As I mentioned in my last quote of the day post, I have been trying to eat healthy and just wanted to let you guys know that it’s going great! More on that soon.

What are your plans for the week? Let me know in the comments below or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. Great quote! I am trying to focus on one thing at a time so I don’t get caught up in switch tasking (“multitasking.”) Today went really well and I got a lot of the kitchen done (what with unpacking, washing dishes, and organizing to the extreme!) I’m very tired and achy from all the work, but I hope tomorrow goes as well (minus the aches and pains!!!)

  2. I know that soon the cough will go away and you will achieve your short term plans and what better in this colorful environment that is coming with the Christmas spirit. On the other hand over here starting a training for a new job.
    Best regards dear Pooja.

  3. My daughter has been sick for about 2 weeks now. She can’t get rid of her cough either. Everyone in my house was sick, and none of us are completely over it.
My plans for the week mostly have to do with work and trying to write more, spend time with the family, nothing fancy this week. Hope you get over your cough soon.

  4. Try slightly roasting 10 popcorn, 10 cloves. Crush them up into a fine powder and the add holding and honey to the mix and a drop of water and have that daily – if it suits you. It should help get rid of the cough. All the best on your new adventure with your sister and your goals. Agree short term goals make us feel like we have achieved something.

      1. A frog sitting on a lily-pad chain-smoking cigarettes with no care about his health or the environment is what I picture him to be like 🐸😂

I gargle mouthwash but it doesn’t seem to help 😕

        1. No mouth wash, just simple warm water with salt 😀. Do it 2-3 times a day. Also drink warm water throughout the day. Will help.
Now, I picture that frog too, it has 2 secret in it’s nose 😂

      1. I hate my chain smoker’s voice 😭 People state at me and give me dirty looks as if I’m about to infect them but my cough is non-infectious. COME HERE SO I CAN INFECT YOU WITH MY NON-INFECTIOUS COUGH!! 🤦‍♀️

        1. Lol yeah I get looks too but I wear a mask when I go out so people don’t seem to care as much. Hopefully we’ll both be back to normal soon 😬

  5. I wish your sister also blog, she sounds interesting. Haha. I have once heard her voice in a podcast of yours, she sounded fun!!
This business idea is fantastic dear friend, I am happy for you guys. This will open many doors for other talented women.
I am loving what you guys are offering, I enjoy the content on “ClickatripAfrica”. The concept is great and you guys are proving great things.
    .
You know, I also had cough syrup, but I felt it made things worse for me.
Warm Turmeric milk helps at the night.
Along with that gargles 3-4 times a day, but well I know you are already doing that my friend.
I hope you feel better soon.
    .
I am happy to know about your 2023 plans. I hope you succeed in them.
    Keep smiling.

    1. Lol she is a lot more fun than me but unfortunately she doesn’t really write much. Thank you so much and hopefully it will help people explore the real Africa.
Yes, I have been doing that and it is sort of helping but it’s going to be a while before I’m fine.

  6. I agree that short term goals are more manageable. Like reducing ones cough syrup intake … But yes hope your cough subsides soon. My week will be filled as usual with busyness and work, but also with a reasonable sprinkle of Christmas cheer 🙂

  7. Reading your post like hearing from an old friend. I am sorry you have that horrible cough. Your style of writing is very cheering. Keep it coming. Thanks for the lovely quotes too.

  8. Nice quote. I am glad you are better! I am feeling a bit better myself, but this cough is very irritating. Good luck with your business adventure, I am sure it will be a success. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful week.

  9. That font is hard to read and I can read and write cursive. I don’t know what’s up, but I’m trying to understand what I’m reading.

As well, I wouldn’t take cough medicine because it can give menthol poisoning (maybe not. Y’all may not have strange products in Kenya) or rebound colds. I had a teacher that constantly had a cough from when I started middle school to my last year of high school, he smelled like Halls all the time. It is ridiculous, but he wasn’t going to more than that.

I wonder how you feel about this whole year.

    1. Sorry to hear that, maybe if you click on the image and zoom in.

I see, I haven’t heard of that. Perhaps that’s not the case in Kenya because I have never heard of either of those things happening to anyone after taking cough syrup.

This year has been interesting. Lots of ups and lots of downs. I plan to write a full post about that soon.

  10. Love your quote. Is it from Hamlet? I don’t understand why I dislike Shakespeare’s plays (with very weird English), but I often like quotes from those plays. And yes, be healthy and thrive in your business venture. I am coming out of a cold or Omicron right now and my throat has not completely recovered yet. And I can’t believe 2022 is gone and the pandemic has been raging for three years almost. It is like a blink of an eye…

    1. Thanks, not sure if it’s from a play or just a general Shakespeare quote. I don’t like his work too much but I did very much enjoy Othello. I’m the same way but luckily I’ve mostly recovered. It’s just that my cough won’t go away. Yes, time has definitely flown by.
