Highlights Of 2022

Highlights Of 2022

Well, it is officially the last couple of days of 2022. I keep saying this but 2022 has just flown by. It is insane to think that it is already the end of the year and 2023 is going to start soon. Since it is officially the end of the year whether I want to admit it or not, I thought I would share some highlights of 2022. I feel like I have really moved in the right direction towards many of my gaols this year. And I am proud of myself for that. So here are my favourite highlights of 2022.

Getting Published In A Magazine

Mindful Melody

I have to start with my biggest accomplishment and highlight of 2022: getting published in a magazine. This was the most exciting this that has happened to me in my writing career. Except this blog of course. But for like actual writing, this was a huge step for me in the right direction. I really hope I get more writing opportunities like this one in 2023. You can check out the post I wrote about getting published by clicking here.

Going To The Spa For The First Time

Serenity Spa Nairobi Kenya Review

I wrote a post in July about how I wanted to go to a spa since I had never been to one. And luckily I was able to do just that with my bestie. She had just finished her final exams (she’s a dentist now you guys!) and I wanted to treat her to a relaxing experience. So we went to Serenity Spa and it was everything we could ask for and more. This was definitely another major highlight of 2022.

Celebrations With The Family

I talked about this in my Diwali and Happy Holidays posts, but I haven’t been able to celebrate things with my family for quite a while now. For those of you that don’t know, I was living in Canada for the last few years and only moved back to Kenya in 2022. This year I got to celebrate everything with family like birthdays, holidays etc. It was really a wonderful thing.

Created Two Businesses From Scratch

Okay, technically I created one business and co-created the other. At the start of the year I really did not know what I wanted to do as a career. I was pretty lost. I have a degree in liberal arts and I’m a history major. So not a lot of job options in the market lol. And even if they were, I knew I wanted to work for myself and have the freedom of doing exactly what I want to do.

I thought about it long and hard and eventually I realised the things I was really passionate about were blogging and writing. So I decided to pursue work in that field. I created my Lifesfinewhine’s services page and began offering services I knew bloggers were looking for (and asked me about frequently). This was a huge success for me and I couldn’t be more thankful. If it wasn’t for Lifesfinewhine and my wonderful Lifesfinewhiners I would never have had this opportunity.

More recently I co-created a travel business with my sister called Clickatripafrica. We organise trips for those looking to travel in Africa. We partnered with lots of different people and offer a large variety of experiences and destinations. To be fair, my sister put in a lot more work for this business than I did but I’m still a partner and I’m still going to count it as a highlight lol!

Getting A Haircut

This may not sound like a big deal to most. And definitely not so much so that it makes my highlight post. But I actually advent gotten a professional haircut in so many years and finally I got one this year. I think it’s been like at least half a decade I’ve been cutting my own hair. So this was a very exciting and also scary experience. But I wanted a complicated hairstyle this time with bangs and knew I would mess it up if I did it myself. And to be honest I’m very happy with the results.

Conclusion

These are officially my highlights of 2022. These moments are what really stand out to me when I look back at this year. This year has been filled with firsts and has certainly had its ups and downs. But overall, it was a very productive year. Minus the month I was sick lol. Other than that, it’s been pretty great.

  1. I actually remember reading this blog.
I think I’ve started reading your work from may or before that 🤔
At first I didn’t understand what to expect from you, because 1 day you were talking about SWS, another day something entirely different, but soon I realised the variety you are giving, and that’s when you became my favourite blogger.

Honestly, as a reader, it’s very proud to see that my favourite blogger is accomplishing so many great things. I was ecstatic to read your article in the magazine, it’s a huge thing.
LIFESFINEWHINE is not just a site, it’s an emotion. Your work, your site is helping so many people. In future, I will take your services about site building and SEO, I have that planned. For now, I want to say you keep sharing and keep shining like this.
I remember your trip to spa along with dentmistry (I hope I spelled her site’s name right). It was good to see you happy then.
I also remember, your blog about new haircut, it was great actually. Yes, it’s a big deal.
Last but not the least, I am happy about your and your sister’s new business venture. I’m loving what guys are offering. I see pics on IG regularly, and that makes me joyful. Also say Hi to your sister from my side, let her know that I would love to hear her again in a podcast.
Yes, you have been sick, it was terrible. Plus your hand was hurt. But, I hope things are better now.
    .
This is surely your last blog for 2022, well it’s 31st here already, but not the last blog from that I’m reading from your side.
Take care buddy, always stay happy 🔥🌀💥

    1. Lol you were just like why is she posting so randomly?? And then you were like oh that’s her niche 😂

Thanks so much, yes things are looking up now. My last blog will come tonight since my primary audience is in the US and their time zones are different. Take care too 😊

      1. At first I didn’t understand what’s going on.
I felt like multiple people are writing.
The blog was long, I was wondering what’s going on.
Because I remember you talked about 2-3 things in the same blog.
Then when I read your blogs regularly, I started loving them.
I come to know that you are a sweet heart and you are leader 😊

          1. Oh I love your content!!
I have accepted that there are 4–5 writers inside you and they come up with something different every time.
Well, how many niches do you work on? 🙂

  2. Congratulations on all of your yearly success, Pooja. I also haven’t had a haircut at an actual barber or salon prior to 2020. I cut my curls myself and I think I’ve gotten pretty good at it. Happy new year friend 🙂

  3. The first half the year was the same as the year before except I no longer had a dog and a cat that could die in one miserable for all year. But the second half of 2022 things came alive….for the most part. There are still those daily stressers, mainly loneliness. I choose to be single and I choose not to go out much. But the loneliness pf social media just tears me apart. And I can’t stand tv anymore. Not much of a fiction reader. Never had much in the way of hobbies. It’s neverending.

    1. Sorry about that but glad your year picked up for the most part. I’m single by choice at the moment too and I know it’s not easy especially with social media.

      1. I really don’t mind being single. I prefer it. I’d rather have a best friend that likes to hug a lot. I mean, the only thing a man could give me that I’m lacking is companionship and hugs. I can also get that from a best friend. But I don’t have one.

        1. My best friend moved recently so feeling a little lonely too. Sending you virtual hugs. I know it’s not the same as real hugs but I hope it makes you feel better.

  4. Way to go! My 2022 was also filled with ups and downs, but mainly ups. I took final exams, cried about those exams, and ended up passing them. Then I went on to enjoy life after high school and before college, which is still happening right now. I finished a novella: something small, but I’m proud of myself nonetheless and how it came out. I did a lot this year, and I’m happy with how much I achieved.

I’m really happy for you and what you did this year, Pooja. Hoping you go on to do more!

    1. Glad it was mainly ups and that you passed the exams. Congratulations on your achievements this year and hope next year is filled with more achievements for you. Thank you!

  5. Getting published had to be thrilling, starting you own businesses is really bold, how you grab life is inspiring and your kind heart is your asset! Wishing you many blessings and continued success! ❤️

  6. Congratulations! The travel organizing company looks great. I will be reaching out when we are ready to do a big trip! Would love to put something together with driving. Happy New Year!

  7. Such great highlights and getting published would also be on mine. The hair looks good too. Mine would probably be getting a professional job offer. To me that is a big deal as I have never done anything rewarded with a greater salary than minimum wage.

  8. Congratulations on all of your successes in 2022. You worked hard, and you deserve every blessing you received. I hope 2023 is even better for you. God bless you and your family. Stay safe. Happy New Year!🎈🎊🎆

  9. I think you did much more in 2022! You certainly made me smile many times when I read your blog or instagram – too many times to count. Book the next spa trip with your bestie and enjoy. Congratulations again on being published – many more to come I hope!

  10. “Congratulations to the magazine that Pooja G. wrote their article!”😄🔥🎉🎉

I really liked the picture in which you’re holding the magazine.

More fashion senses and talents should be explored.👍👍

You can do multiple things, independently, when needed.

  11. We can barely see you in that mirror picture from the Spa, lol. Also I noticed that hairstyles is a trending keyword with this post title. What a long year! It’s been fun to be here reading about it as you went through it!
