A Blast From The Past

Yesterday, I had a blast from the past and wanted to share it with you since it made me laugh. For those of you that read my last post, you know the ordeal with WordPress had left me feeling down. And I decided not to post yesterday and just relax instead. Which I think worked out really well.

I decided to do some cleaning to clear my mind and found some old notebooks of mine. Most of them had poems or story ideas etc. But one of them had a list of 100 things I am grateful for. Now think of that crazy coincidence. I was a teenager when I wrote that list and haven’t thought about it much since. And yesterday I happened to clean up something I hadn’t even touched in ages. And I happened to find a list of 100 things to be grateful for. Let me tell you, the universe really provides you with what you need sometimes.

But that’s not even the fun part. No. 94 just said “my butt.” I think I ran out of stuff towards the end and I ended up writing “my butt” but (no pun intended) I loved that the most from the list. And funnily enough that’s one of the few things in my life since then that I am still grateful for lol.

A Blast From The Past
The list in question
A Blast From The Past
#grateful lol 😅

This was exactly what I needed to see to lighten my mood and I am grateful for my gratitude list. I’ve actually decided to continue adding to it.

Have you ever had a blast from the past? What are you grateful for? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Gratitude is the way to go ✨

I once came across a bunch of old letters I wrote, I was thankful my writing has improved since then lol I used too much short-hand.

Thanks for sharing, got a chuckle from this 😅

    1. Haha glad it made you chuckle, I laughed when I read it too 😅

Same here, I’m so glad my writing has improved. Most of the writing I found was not great…

  2. Good to hear that this blast from the past made you forget your ordeal with the WordPress. Sometimes, the most ordinary or simple things do help us in the most unexpected way.

  3. Well a good thing to cheer you up….

    So the theory that
Cleaning and managing the cupboard is good for mental health is truth. ☺️

All I want for you is to keep smiling dear friend 🙂😀

      1. I don’t undertand what gem are you talking about, hahaha

But dear friend, I was upset to know that you cried, Because you felt helpless.

I hope they fix it soon.
Please take good care of yourself and smile more often, definetly looks good on you.

          1. Samosa sounds delicious…

            Bon appetite

I’m not happy at all, as my new blog post is not visible to the readers.
I can see it, it’s up on the site
But damn, I cannot see others seeing it or not. I’m pissed.

I have 3-4 mails with sadness engineer 🥹

              1. I guess I need to do that

I’m annoyed that, upgrade is making things more typical for me.

I wonder why the hell my post is invisible to people. I can see it, and it’s on the site 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know what they will say, there’s not issue 😑

                1. That’s so weird. Can you ask the people who can’t see the posts to report to WordPress to prove there is something wrong? As you know they also kept denying the issue for me as well but it helped when people reported it themselves through their site.

                  1. For you, I have a proof that
Even people can’t turn on the email notifications for your posts.

I have mailed them and when they will say anything about that, I’ll share that pic.

                    1. They already told me what they believe the issue is but it makes no sense so I have no idea what the fuck is even going on. I’m just so done with this situation.

                    2. Ummmm

                      I hope it resolves

                      Have you tried plugins?

And for now, focus on the samosas and maybe a post on “WIEIAD”
                      That would be great. 😋

For now, don’t let it take away your peace.
Sorry for bringing this up 🙇🏻‍♂️
Will share you the mail of their response.

                    3. Plugins can’t help. It’s an issue on WordPress’s end and they are the only ones who can resolve it unfortunately 😕

                    4. Yeah, and they just refuse to understand that. Like how are our email followers supposed to give them proof. And why do we need to give them proof. They need to check themselves.

                    5. My conversation is going with them
But I feel that conversation is similar to talking to a wall 😛
I’ve shared a screenshot with them. Let’s see. I just want this sort out. Not as a follower but as a friend.

                    6. Well my issue is fixed
Looks like there was no issue at all. The guy showed me a screen recording. I’m convinced. I’ve even asked atleast 10 followers so everyone is saying the same stuff.

Even the guy who was helping me on this case is following me now 😅
                      So he confirmed.

About you I’ve received an email ( I had 2 request with them, 1 is about your issue).
I have shared a pic with them, they have responded. I will share that mail with you.
I do hope that it gets fixed soon. I know it’s not a good thing 😕

                    7. I’m glad that issue was fixed. It’s shocking to me when WP actually resolves something for a change lol 😅

                    8. Yeah, I even typed your full URL but still it was an empty screen. So weird. Hope it’s just a glitch and fixes itself so you don’t have to deal with Sadness Engineers again.

                    9. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon. This is so ridiculous, I mean you just upgraded and already you have so many issues.

                    10. Noooo this is a club I don’t want you to be a part of. I hope your journey on WordPress is much easier than mine.

                    11. Haha I hope
Because I have less knowledge than you, and I get overwhelmed dealing with it.

Just in 2-3 weeks I have 2-3 issues with wp. And, shared 10-20 mails with them.
Or maybe this was before too and I never cared 🤷🏻‍♂️

With some plugins, I’m getting more support from them rather than wp. Like rank math, monster insights, wpbeginner are helping more instead of sadness engineers 😛

                    12. I didn’t have much knowledge starting out either, I just had to learn because of the Sadness Engineers not being very competent at their job and taking forever to fix my issues.

I’m getting more support from a platform I don’t pay for than with WP lol 😅

                    13. Haha true 🤷🏻‍♂️

Infact these mediums respond very quickly and help properly.

I’ve learnt a lot through wpbeginner.
I don’t know when I subscribed to them, but they send some useful information. I shared once with you. Maybe it can help.

  4. Okay but what’s the #1 thing you’re grateful for! 😅I have a lot of journals from many periods of my life and some of them are very awkward to read. I was so cringey as a teenager especially. So much smarter and “better” than everyone else. Lol

And I haven’t forgotten about your blog, the day got away from me but thankfully it’s the weekend and I’ll be able to do some work I actually enjoy, like helping fellow bloggers.

    1. It’s so funny, the #1 thing was getting to 100 followers on WordPress 😅
Yup, teenage journals are so super cringe. Mine are so emo, I swear I’m going to have to burn them and throw the ashes in a river. I can’t have what happened to Napoleon happening to me. (he wrote a bunch of stuff and hated it and explicitly said he didn’t want anyone to read them and now they’re displayed at a museum in France lol)

Don’t worry about it, do it when you can. I’m just happy someone who actually know what they’re doing is helping me lol 😅

  5. Love your idea of 100 things to be grateful for. I probably should compile a list of 100 things I learn to deal with in a narcissistic family. LOL. And now to think of it, each of us has come with 100 blessings, although some of the blessings are mixed with thorns.

  6. What a great way to end the week, on a high note, discovering a blast from the past as you say. Sounds optimistic! 😉

I’m doing well, too. I’m grateful for my life and health, family and friend connections, and all the time I’ve been able to spend with my little grandson lately.

  7. So true that we are given things when we need them. You needed this awesome list to make you feel happy again.
I’ve never been grateful for my butt. Perhaps it’s time that I should be? 😂😂😂

  8. Enjoyed your post. Glad you are feeling better today.

I have some old notebooks that I have been meaning to go through, but never seem to make the time.

Before my Mom passed away in 2011 she gave me some old letters that I wrote to her when I was in College. It seems to me like a completely different person wrote those back then which I suppose is not far from the truth. They were good for a laugh in any event.

    1. Thanks so much. It’s interesting to read our old writing because it really is like we were a different person. It reminds us of how much we have changed since then.

  9. That’s a good one! You are brave to open up your old journals…I used to write in them diligently, but I cannot bear to reread them. I end up shredding it and starting new ones; the cycle continues.
But blogging is different. I don’t mind reading what I wrote years ago. Weird!

    1. I try to avoid rereading them as some of the old stuff I wrote makes me cringe but this was a fun find. Lol yeah, with blogging I don’t go back and read either. And I don’t want to either haha!

  10. I’m grateful for my wife, my children and my mental health. I say health it’s more illness than health. But I’m still grateful for it…why? Because it gives me skills that I otherwise wouldn’t have; empathy, understanding and the strength to go on 🙏
Sadly I’m not grateful for my butt. It’s a little older than yours and not as good as it once was 😳

    1. That’s a lot of things to be grateful for. And it’s good to look at our mental health issues that way. It helps us grow as people and gain more skills.
All butts are beautiful so be grateful for it no matter what 😉😅

  11. You’re gorgeous and I LOVE your outfit!
I laughed at “butt.” I love my butt too, even at 59, it’s holding up! (Keep doing those donkey kicks and you’ll have a butt you love forever!) *wink*
Your post reminded me from a few summers ago, I had lunch with a girlfriend who showed me all the notes I wrote to her as a teenager. I was being bullied in school and took out all my anger in the notes, but in a humorous way. I drew photos of the bullies and made up names for them. When she showed me the notes I laughed so hard at my younger self.
I remember blogging about it too; there’s a photo of me with reading glasses, looking at the notes smiling.

    1. Thank you!
Lol, that’s awesome. Yes, exercise helps keep things looking good 🤭
Yeah, it’s crazy reading our old stuff. It’s like we were different people haha. What’s the post called?

  12. Ha ha! I enjoyed reading this.
It makes me happy to see my fellow blogger happy.
More I wonder, the teenager Pooja was clever since the beginning.
She knew which blog titles were trending on the internet: “100 things to be grateful for.”

  13. I make lists and then revise it every month. I am terribly moody and sometimes that helps me because I go with the flow of present instead of sticking to the list. On my recent list is practice mindful eating. ✌️

    1. Same here, reading the list when I’m down helps a lot 😊 I’m trying to practice mindful eating too. I end up overeating sometimes and want to stop that.

  14. Haha that’s so great the list cheered u up!! My blast from the past is that I’ve found some letters I wrote to my future self to open at particular times and I’m a bit scared to open them as don’t know what mood I was in when I wrote them 😅

  15. Thanks for the chuckle, Pooja! Maybe things do happen for a reason, so in this case, to uplift your mindset. 🙂 Great photo of you, too! My gratitude list is endless, but since I’ve been dealing with new foot pain recently in my right foot, and having to refrain from walking, I’m grateful for my feet. It’s easy to take things for granted that we do every day so naturally. I empathize with those people who have lost a foot, leg, or arm. I’m okay, doing what needs to be done to heal. But it certainly makes you think. Take care and enjoy your weekend. 🩷

    1. Haha yes, I think things happen for a reason! Thanks and yes it’s true that we don’t appreciate what we have till we no longer have it. I hope you heal quickly. Enjoy your weekend too and give your foot some rest 😊

    1. Thanks! Yeah you should, I decided to continue writing things I’m grateful for as well. I think it helps us be grateful and remember the good when things are not looking great.

      1. Absolutely, I wanted to share that I am grateful for the WP community and all the support I get here. Sometimes it’s the only thing that keeps me sane in this insane world of fake pretentiousness.

        1. I’m glad to hear this community has had a positive impact on your life. I feel the same way, even when I feel like I’m at rock bottom blogging helps me feel better. The people I’ve met here are some of the kindest and sweetest.

  16. Yes, I have recently started a project to rewrite a story from memory, that I wrote in 1996, and had lost all written copy of. In these first few weeks, all sorts of things – material and less tangible – are returning as I retrieve and upgrade the story template

    1. Wow, that’s really cool. I wish you luck with it. It’s funny how we remember so many things unconsciously but we don’t really realise they’re there till we make a conscious effort to remember them.

      1. Archetypes… the words we use are details. Like parables or fables. Essentially the core is eternal… we each tell it differently. Like covering a Bob Dylan song

  17. Believe me! I wish your butt all the best! I remember one time I was really stoned. I wrote down what I believed to be a life changing revelation and tucked it away in my dresser drawer. When I was straight again, I went into the drawer to read what I had written. It said: ‘The room smells funny!’ Hehehehee…

  18. Amazing post Pooja. The way you write your headlines, very creative and unique “A BLAST FROM THE PAST” , that’s a captivating and spectacular title to write about because some don’t like to talk about the past they want to move past from it as fast as possible.

Also, as for the 100 things you are grateful, your butt is not what I imagined and expected but hey that’s what you grateful for so it counts right?😂😂😂😂. Plus, the last picture you look good , like the outfit🔥🔥🔥😍

Lastly, I hope you become grateful for the rest of the year and may all your dreams and goals come true and make you happy😊

    1. Thank you so much, glad you enjoy the titles. I try to keep them fresh. I was surprised to see that on my list too but teenage me was happy 😅

Thanks so much and hope you have a great rest of your year too 😊

  19. I am grateful for all of my family, my WP family, my advisors, my children, my husband, Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit, my grandson. I am grateful for my life and all of my blessings.

  20. Wow. I love this😊.
I need to start writing me a happy list of things to be grateful for, maybe that’ll cheer me up sometime in the future 😂…
It’s funny the next item on the list is makeup😂. Teenage you was something else
