A Silver Lining Amongst The Recent Disruptions

Unfortunately, I’ve had a bit of bad luck lately and not much has been going right in my life. But life is always about balance. The bad comes to disrupt us but the good comes to remind us that the bad never lasts forever. And like that, even with all this going on in my life a silver lining has come my way.

Writing more was one of my 2023 goals. And although my main goal was to write a book, it was also just to get my writing out there. I was already published in one poetry anthology this year and I am happy to announce that I have been published in yet another one called Glow: Self-Care Poetry For The Soul. I’ll write more about it next week.

My Silver Lining is Glow: Self-Care Poetry For The Soul

A while back, Nicole from Momoetry shared a post about this anthology and how her poems were accepted in it. I decided to follow suit and submit my own poems and three were accepted. I am so thankful to Nicole for sharing this on her blog, it’s literally why I’m in this book. And congratulations to her as well for she was published in this anthology too!

More recently, a big part of my life has been about doing things I would earlier have cowered from. I want to take chances even if that mean I may get rejected. I’ve decided that I would rather take every chance I can rather than regret not taking it.

How To Purchase The Anthology:

You can purchase “Glow: Self-Care Poetry For The Soul” through Barnes & Noble or on Amazon. I would really appreciate it if you would purchase the anthology and support the wonderful writers included in it. And if you do happen to purchase it please let me know how you liked it. Unfortunately, Amazon is not available in Kenya so I’ll need to figure out a way to ship it here. If you would like to buy it and mail it to me (I’d obviously pay for everything) hit me up…

What is your silver lining right now? What are you grateful for? Let me know in the comments below!

      1. It’s not a problem at all I ship things all the time 😊

        1. In that case, I’ll email you about the address. I am seriously grateful! 😊

          1. Yeah I thought about just emailing you but I wasn’t comfortable enough with our new best friend status yet. 😅 Next time

      1. I can imagine 💖💖💖

  5. A book by Indie earth publishing?

I saw it on Amazon, it’s not available.
    Need to wait I guess

But hey congratulations, I’m happy for you.
Yes, I love your poems and it’s a pleasure to read them( along with your blogs).

Will read this book for sure.

So if you don’t have Amazon, how you order stuff? Anything else??

    So no kindle then?

    1. We have Kindle, thankfully. And we go to shops to buy stuff lol. I actually prefer supporting local businesses and small businesses over supporting Amazon so I’m perfectly fine with not having Amazon here. If I really need something I get it from India but like you said the book isn’t available there so need to get it from US 🥲
      Thanks so much!

      1. I will keep an eye on the book and will let you know.
We have few other options but Flipkart and amazon are the major ones. I generally order books from Flipkart. I also like buying from the local, it’s cheaper and it gives option to touch while buying 🙂

I hope this book inspire you to complete your book within this year. 🙂🙏🏼
I want that book Pg 🤩

        1. Thank you so much, my book is like 75% done so should be done before the year ends!

          1. 75% is good enough.

Stay motivated. Get to the finish. I feel writing the end is most difficult part.
            I wonder what it’s about.

Even if it’s about whinning for 200 pages, I would love to read it. 😍

            1. It’s definitely just me whining for 200 pages… how did you know?? 😂

              1. What that book is about?
                A self help?
                or a novel

                you are unpredictable actually

or let’s say you are a pandora box

                1. Lol I can’t even care for myself properly I can’t be writing self-help books 😅
One is a poetry book I want to finish this year, one is a murder mystery and the last is like autobiographical but not exactly. Like based on my life.

                  1. Ohhh all 3 sounds interesting

I trust you with murder mystery

You like killing male characters 😅

Autobiography on you is a good idea, after 30 years. I’ll be stick around to see you get old and grumpy 🤭

Poetry, you are genius with them. 😍
Stay motivated to complete them. I’ll buy them.

                    1. Thanks. Lol I love it but in the book I don’t think any male characters will die 😯

Lol, I’m already old and grumpy 😅

                      Aw thanks, much appreciated 😊

                    2. Best wishes for the books ☺️🙏🏼

                    3. Thanks 😊

My silver lining these days is finding happiness in little moments. It’s been raining in Delhi for few days which is a respite from the heatwave. I am enjoying Sunday looking at the rain, reading a romance novel, while my sister is preparing some hot and spicy snacks to have with the evening tea. 😋

    1. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.

That’s wonderful, my cousins are visiting India right now and they are very grateful for the rain too after so much heat. What a lovely way to spend your Sunday 😊

  16. Congratulations!!

    1. Thank you so much!

  17. This is exciting, Pooja! Congratulations!

    1. Thank you so much, it’s definitely so exciting!

      1. You’re most welcome, Pooja!

  18. Congratulations on being published Pooja! Silver linings are a nice reminder that good things can happen in the midst of dark times. They give you enough hope and patience for the good things to come. I think my silver lining has been my level of faith that good things are coming. Through hoping and believing, good opportunities are starting to come my way.

    1. Thank you so much! I absolutely agree, silver linings remind us that there is good even when things look down.
I believe that good things are coming your way too. Stay faithful.

      1. You’re very kind, thank you as well. Keep focusing on the silver linings and finishing your book ❤️

        1. Thanks 🥰

  19. Way to go, finding the silver linings! It’s like you are turning into an optimist!😁

    1. Thank you! Lol not that optimistic but maybe a little less pessimistic 😅

      1. Oh, I don’t know about that… 😜

  20. Woo! Congratulations on being published! Awesome news, my friend. 💕🌻 That’s a great feeling when you take a chance at something, and it all works out.

    1. Thank you so much! It’s an amazing feeling 😊

      1. You’re welcome! 🥰

  21. Congratulations to Nicole and and everyone who’s involved in this anthology!🎉🎉

I know a lot of people are publishing their writing (poems, stories and selfhelp etc.) in the form of books.

I have already a large syllabus of the college and the competitive exams.
It gets difficult to help people, sometimes, that way.

It must be interesting to contribute to ‘a team work’. But time don’t allow me. And it goes with the mindset also.

Here’s a highlight from this post:
“I’ve decided that I would rather take every chance I can rather than regret not taking it.”

    Thank you, Pooja.
I hope you enjoy ‘a full sleep’, tonight and throughout this week. (😂Lol, it has a negative meaning also. But I don’t mean that.)

    1. Thanks so much, I totally understand. I didn’t do much when I was a student too. It gets really busy.

Hah thanks, I haven’t been able to sleep well in days so hopefully tonight will be different 😫

  22. I think it’s wonderful you found your silver lining. Great post!

    1. Thank you so much!

  23. Congrats. Keep looking for silver linings. They are always around!

    1. Thank you so much and yes they are!

  24. This is wonderful news, Pooja! Congrats, and I look forward to reading the book and your contributions. There’s always a silver lining. We just have to be open to it. 🩷

    1. Thank you so much! I absolutely agree, there’s always a silver lining right around the corner 😊

  25. Congratulations, Pooja. Keep writing and keep publishing. I know you can do it and be the best self-reflective and self-healing poet out there. I think you have inspired me into a positive person so far and I am sure there are so many others who feel the same way. I think you should put the links of the two books of poetry anthology, which include your poetry contribution, in your homepage. Just my humble suggestion and please don’t think I am officious. LOL.

    1. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words. You also inspired me to get out there more and step out of my comfort zone and write about things I was not comfortable writing about before.
That’s a very good idea, I will definitely add them.

  26. Girlllll….congratulations! Happy for you!🥂

    1. Aw thank you so 😊

  27. Congratulations!! I am so happy for you! Silver linings are blessings when we acknowledge them and it leads to even more good things.

    1. Thank you so much! I think so too and always try to be mindful when something good happens.

  28. Congrats for getting published! And thanks, too, for your post’s words of silver lining optimism! To be sure, Eleanor Roosevelt also had that outlook when she said, “Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present!”

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of your publishing success story!

    1. Thank you! I love that quote and I couldn’t agree more with it. Focusing on the present is so vital.

  29. Wow that’s great !!! Congratulations 👏🏼
    Keep it up 👍🏼

    1. Thank you so much!

  30. Congratulations! So happy for you. I can not think of person who deserves it more! Blessings and Peace.

    1. Thank you so much!
