Six TV Shows You Need To Watch This Summer
As someone who has social anxiety and therefore has a lot of free time on my hands, I love TV shows and watch a lot of them. I think they’re a fun escape from real life. So, I decided to share some TV shows you need to watch this summer that I have really enjoyed thoroughly:
Beef

Beef is one of the best shows I’ve seen recently. The biggest thing for me is that the plot is really original. The show revolves around two people who begin projecting on one another. It’s funny, amusing, dramatic, touching and pretty much touches most genres/categories. I found every episode to be interesting and there were quite a few plot twists. The show also deals with some very real issues in an interesting way.
My rating: 4.5/5
The IT Crowd

I wanted to add The IT Crowd to the list because it’s one of the best comedy shows I’ve ever seen and yet for whatever reason it’s not very well known. It’s a British show revolving around the IT department of a company. The main characters are amusing, eccentric and get themselves into the craziest situations. If you haven’t seen this show and won’t be watching any other show I mentioned, please watch this one. It’s amazing and I feel like almost everyone will enjoy it.
My rating: 4.8/5
Lies Hidden In My Garden

I just recently started watching this K-drama with my sister and have really been enjoying it. However, Lies Hidden In My Garden is slow so if you like more fast paced shows this is probably not the show for you. The shows central theme is domestic abuse and the different types of abuse that people face. There’s also a somewhat interesting murder mystery and the actors do a great job. The show isn’t done yet but so far it’s been really interesting.
My rating: 3/5
Only Murders In The Building

You’ve probably heard of Only Murders In The Building before since it’s become quite popular. I’ve even talked about both season one and season two on this blog. And I’m waiting for season three. It’s coming out in August which means you still have enough time to binge watch season one and two.
The plot revolves around three residents in a building where a murder takes place. Slowly, they start investigating it together leading to many secrets of their own being revealed. The show is very fast paced, interesting, funny, touching and more. Would highly recommend it to any murder mystery fans out there.
My rating: 4.6/5
Why Women Kill

Why Women Kill is one of Marc Cherry’s less known shows. You probably know his most popular show, Desperate Housewives. Which according to my sister is also very good. But that’s not what this is about. I started watching this show a while back and really enjoyed it. It got cancelled and only has two seasons. However, each season revolves around a new murder so it’s not like you’ll be left hanging. Again, for those of you who like this genre I would very much recommend it.
My rating: 4/5
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

It’s Always Sunny is probably one of my favourite shows of all time if not my favourite show. It has remained consistently funny even after almost two decades. The characters are hilarious, the episodes are always hilarious and since the actors/creators of the show are involved in the writing it doesn’t deviate from what made it funny at the start. Again, this show isn’t well know (although it’s become more famous over the years). At least I don’t think it’s as well known as it should be.
The show revolves around a group of horrible people who live their lives in the most inconvenient way possible. It’s a show about bad people the same way Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm is. If you’re a fan of that kind of show, I would so recommend this one. However, it’s not for the lighthearted. If you are someone who is easily offended I wouldn’t watch this show.
My rating: 4.9/5
