Head pounding
Hands shaking
Cold and sweating
Out of breath
Barely awake
The darkness
Closing in
Nothing left
To fight for
Only an abyss of darkness
Calling my name

About “An Abyss Of Darkness”:
Honestly, I am not really sure where this poem came from. Sometimes things just come to you, you know. I don’t know if any of the other writers or poets on WordPress experience that. I think this poem has to do with something I was talking to my therapist about recently. It’s pretty much about what it feels like to be in a depressive episode. Where it sort of feels like the darkness is closing in on you. And it really feels like you have nowhere else to go but down. At least that’s my experience with it. I know everyone has their own experiences and descriptions of what depression feels like to them. Even personally, it can feel like a lot of different things depending on where I am at with a depressive episode.
In unrelated news, my blogging friend Aeryn who has been really kind and supportive is hoping to reach more followers before reaching one hundred posts.
