What Really Grinds My Gears

Welcome to another “What Really Grinds My Gears” post. As you know, if you have read any of my “What Really Grinds My Gears” in the past these posts are simply a space for me to whine and let some feelings out. They are not that serious. Today, I will be talking about WordPress and what has been annoying me about it. I haven’t whined in a bit so forgive me if I’m all over the place. I get like that when I’m passionate about a topic and I’m out of practice with this sort of post.

WordPress

How WordPress Works

Don’t get me wrong, I love this platform and am very grateful for it. And I want to start by saying that so that you know my criticisms are coming from a good place. I just want this platform to stop ruining itself so that my favourite bloggers stop abandoning it.

AI

Recently, multiple bloggers I follow have talked about WordPress and AI. In particular about how WP is now selling our content to third parties including those that research and train AI. Obviously, when bloggers found out about this a lot of them were quite angry. Thankfully, we can opt out of this. Check out this post to learn how to opt out and stop WP from sharing your content to third parties.

I’m glad that they have that option but here’s the thing. There are some bloggers who are not tech savvy enough to make these settings. And you need to be on a certain (pretty expensive) plan to be able to do a live chat with HE’s. Those on a free plan can use the forum options but I have heard a lot of complaints about that option. So opting out may not always be as easy as they make it sound.

Plus, some bloggers don’t use WP for a while and only come back every few weeks or months. By then, it may be too late.

Instead of having an option to opt out, in my opinion, they need to have an option to opt in. That way, if you’re okay with your data being used by third parties you can opt in. And if not, you don’t have to do anything.

BTW, shouldn’t we be getting paid if our content/data is being used? I’m pretty sure WP is getting paid so why aren’t we?

Greed

What has SERIOUSLY been grinding my gears about WordPress recently is that they are all about profits now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not stupid. I know companies generally only care about profits and I guess that makes sense. However, what annoys me is when companies go overboard with their greed and destroy everything they have worked so hard to create. And I think that’s what’s happening with WP, at least to an extent.

Have you noticed how they offer less and less features with the plans? You have to be on one of the more expensive plans to really even have any benefits these days. I remember when I first started blogging, the free plan had so many more options and features.

The amount of memory you get on the free plan is crazy, the fact that they take a commission for payments on most of the plans is RIDICULOUS (imagine getting like a $10 tip and WP takes like a 10% commission of that) and not offering live chat with all the plans is just cruel considering how incredibly glitchy this platform is. Yes, all platforms have glitches but you should provide sufficient help so that we can solve them.

In my opinion, none of the paid plans except the Creator Plan (formerly known as the Business Plan) are worth it anymore for the prices they’re charging.

Updates

I had to add this section because I wrote this post before the WordPress updates that changed our Reader. Now, I personally don’t have the biggest issue with it. In general, change makes me uncomfortable. And the glitches caused by the changes are annoying but I think as they usually do the glitches will go away after a while when the dust has settled. But the updates being not that useful for users and mostly being design changes does piss off a lot of bloggers. Especially because there are actual changes we’ve been asking them to make for years that they’ve just ignored.

Another thing that many bloggers complain about is how we don’t get a proper heads-up for the updates. I’m sure they post about the upcoming updates but would it kill them to send out an email? Especially considering most users don’t read their articles.

Happiness Engineers And Customer Care

One of the biggest complains when it comes to WordPress that I have had and have seen other bloggers complain about too is their customer care or rather their lack of it. I remember when I first joined WordPress and their live chat option was available to everyone. Live chats with Happiness Engineers used to be available to all plans but now they’re only available to limited and again quite expensive plans. The free plan in particular makes it pretty hard to get decent help which is sad since a very large number of users on this platform still use the free plan.

And what seriously grinds my gears is that even when you pay for the plans with live support from HE’s it’s still not an option sometimes. I needed to speak to them the other day and got this:

I ended up emailing them about my issue and still haven’t heard anything from them. It’s been more than two days. That really pissed me off. You’re making so much money off us, the least you can do is hire enough HE’s to be able to help us in a timely manner.

For the record, I don’t blame the HE’s for this. They do the best they can in most cases. It’s not their fault they’re overworked and overwhelmed. WP needs to step up and hire enough HE’s that are qualified to fix their many glitches and problems.

Conclusion

I never thought I would say this, but somehow I still have hope for WordPress. Maybe it’s because it’s become such a huge part of my life and I don’t want to admit that it’s slowly killing itself. Or maybe it’s because even with the bad stuff I still see some positive changes. Either way, I think there’s still hope but only if they make major changes to solve the issues we are having on here. In particular, they need to chill with the greedy behaviour. And they need to stop asking the HE’s to keep pushing their overpriced plans onto bloggers that don’t want to upgrade.

I read this post by Renard that’s really interesting. It’s about why a lot of bloggers are becoming more and more dissatisfied with WordPress and where it’s headed. I wanted to share this post to show that a lot of bloggers are connected about the direction WP is headed in. Because it’s giving Tumblr. Another platform that was insanely popular that quickly went downhill.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Do you think WordPress is going downhill or being mismanaged? Do you think WordPress needs to give more importance on their users and what they have to say about the platform? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you or simply stop by and say hi!

    Thank you.

I’ve only recently started writing here regularly and don’t follow many of bloggers who write about the bts of blogging, so didn’t realize there was a way to opt out of AI training.

I do notice users employing AI to write seemingly entire posts, but hopefully am getting better at filtering those.

    1. Happy to share it.

Yeah, I read about it on someone else’s post too and thought I would share it here so people know they have the option to opt out. Definitely there are more AI written posts popping up.

  2. Pooja, great post. I’ve been traveling the past week and only managed to post one or two things; I must have missed the March 1 announcement.

That is indeed discouraging… WP seems to be going through the typical waning days in the life cycle of a company. I’ve only been blogging here in earnest for about 2 months so I have no frame of reference… but all the things you mentioned do see to be indicative of a sinking hot-air balloon frantically dumping sandbags. Hope WP can reverse this trend. I’ve changed my AI setting, TY 😎

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, it’s definitely discouraging and I’m saddened that they are fumbling such a great platform. They have users that love it here and instead of listening to us they’re ignoring us completely and destroying WP. I hope so too because I really like blogging here. So glad you were able to change the AI settings, I find it so annoying to have to opt out but so glad there’s an option to do that.

  3. An excellent post, Pooja! I agree with you on all points. WP is heading in the wrong direction with the greed and more. Other platforms like Square Space are way ahead of WP in the way they deal with customers and what is offered with their plans.

I’ve considered that platform more than once! I think that the future will see WP losing many users to other platforms, right now seems like it would be a golden time for a new blogging platform to come online. One that has realistic plans and offers the user the ability to be creative with their own blog pages. And, excellent customer service of course.

    1. Thanks so much! I’ve used Square Space before since one of my clients hosts with them and it’s a great platform although a lot less active than WP which is what keeps me here (for now).

I really hope someone creates a great platform because I think we’re all ready to move just not sure where to move to.

      1. That’s what keeps me here too, Pooja. I would move if it was like WP but better managed. Good morning!

        1. Good morning! Yeah, I think lots of people would move if there was a better option.

          1. Good afternoon! It’s raining here now.

            1. Lucky, it’s still so hot here 😢🔥

              1. It’s better than being very cold, Pooja. 🥶🔥

  4. Well, you are well aware of my frustrations with WordPress, and I feel your pain, Pooja. The AI mess is an insult, IMO, and I agree about the option that it should be to opt in and not opt out. Renard has posted several valuable articles regarding AI, and bless his heart for doing so.
With that said, I feel WordPress is the best platform for blogging, and I hope they don’t forget who got them where they are and that’s us.

    1. Yes, I know you’ve been dealing with quite a few issues yourself. True, I find the AI integration and content use really awful. And the fact that they tried to keep it on the down low makes it so shady. I’ve been reading Renard’s posts about it too and as always they’re very informative.
I hope so too. I have no plans to move mostly because I love the community here. I haven’t found that anywhere else.

  5. Hi, Pooja,

I am so glad you wrote this: I’ve been thinking seriously about quitting WordPress since I found out that they are “sharing” our content with AI. But even before that, the changes being made seemed counterproductive and/or annoying and, like you, I am appalled by the growing greed. The ads used to be ugly but still. Now they are using pop ups and flashing horrors that take up half the screen and crash your system. The plans are too expensive for someone who just wants to share some writing and read what others are thinking and writing about.

I’m seriously considering moving to Buttondown–even though I would miss the community here.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, I think a lot of bloggers are quite frustrated because of the whole AI mess. And the fact that they were so shady about it makes it worse. The greed is getting crazy, the price of the plans vs what they offer is ridiculous and I can’t believe they expect regular hobby bloggers to pay such amounts.

I would recommend Vocal, I really like that platform and they pay a very decent amount per view even if you have a free plan.

    2. Or you could consider self-hosting so you would still be part of the community but not have to deal with any of the WP crap.

  6. 🤔 First of all, thank you for the shout-out, Pooja.

Personally, I dislike the idea of Automattic selling the user data of bloggers on WordPress and Tumblr to OpenAI and Midjourney (I did not see that coming).

By default, users should have been opted out instead of them being opted in.

Automattic is behaving like a voracious wolf.

Also, all bloggers on the paid plans should have access to live chats with the Happiness Engineers.

WordPress.com is treating us like second-class citizens.

The only WordPress that grants us real freedom from all of this atrocity is WordPress.org (The self-hosted version of WordPress).

If Automattic continues with its greed bloggers on WordPress.com will go elsewhere to blog.

    1. Happy to share the post, I thought it really expressed what many WordPress bloggers are thinking right now.

Yes, them selling our data doesn’t sit right with me at all. They’re being unnecessarily greedy. I think everyone should have access to live chats even those on the free plans. It’s crazy that the free plans don’t even have the email option.

  7. Looks like they have invested a lot of money into marketing the platform. I’m not sure if it’s going up or down… Honestly it might just stay where it is. It doesn’t bother me too much because life is too short to care about minor things like that, Instagram is not going away so I will find you there Pooj!

    1. Yes, you can always reach out on IG if either of us no longer uses WP although I’m not planning to go anywhere any time soon. I just hope they make some positive changes soon!

  8. Unfortunately, AI with all its downsides is now a permanent feature not only on social media sites but all over the internet. Just be very careful what you share about yourself on social media. It has crept into media in general and politics specifically and it’s hard to know in media reports what is truth these days. AI writes speeches and I suppose in future it will be interesting to see if universities can judge a thesis that was actually researched and produced by the person seeking a degree.

    1. AI has definitely complicated a lot of things, not only is it being used to spread fake information lots of companies are also stealing content to teach AI. Including Google which uses our documents Google Docx to train AI. I think there are some platforms created to stop use of AI. I had to turn in my assignments there first to make sure it was really written by me.

      1. Well, that’s encouragement to know you can’t get a fake degree now as there’s a defense against some fake stuff.

        1. Yes, there’s pretty good defence so students can’t use it in assignments etc.

  9. Well, since my daily prompt reply today featured a gorilla giving a WP logo a swift kick in the ass, I think you know where I stand at the moment 😄
Mind you, I’ve only been here a few months, and even I have seen some things that annoy and piss me off.

The AI thing, I have heard that if you opt out, any content you create after that doesn’t show up in Reader or other feeds. I saw comments on a few bloggers pages where they opted out, noticed that their posts weren’t showing up anymore, and felt compelled to opt back in in order to be seen. I cannot vouch for this 100%, but these bloggers had no reason to lie about it that I can think of. Sadly, I would tend to think it is true, and I would also suspect other platforms are doing similar, or will be very soon.

Also, the amount of time I have been magically unsubscribed from people’s blogs, and they from mine, is highly annoying. One of my followers has resubscribed to mine about 6 times in the past two weeks and she is not the only one. I have also become randomly unsubscribed from pages a lot lately, eventually catch up the fact, and have missed 5 or 6 days content.

    1. Lol yeah, we’re on the same page lol 😂

The AI thing has frustrated so many bloggers. Personally, I turned it off and still show up on the Reader but I wouldn’t be surprised if some bloggers are experiencing a glitch after changing the settings. I know Google is selling the content on Docs and I’m sure other platforms are.

Omg yes, I get unsubscribed from blogs all the time and I see people resubscribing to me often too. It’s so freaking annoying!! 😡

      1. Ah, perhaps I will take a shot at opting out too if you’re still showing up in Reader. Worst case, I’ll turn it back on.

The sub thing is downright stupid.

        1. Yeah, most people I know that opted out are still showing up for me. So, it may just be a glitch that a few bloggers experience. Worth a try, I think.

The sub thing bugs me so much because every time I bring it up to the HE’s they just gaslight me about it.

          1. Of course they do. 🙄

  10. Thank you for this very informative post. I did what you suggested and went to the website that explained how to prevent third party use of my data. I checked the box. I’ve been training neural networks and decision trees using training sets, as a student a long time ago, as well as an engineer at my work, and we always purchased (or asked for permission) our training sets. You don’t use people’s stuff without asking them, even if it is just for training purposes. I can add, I was working in robotics and embedded systems and I don’t know much about the web or word press, I definitely need help in that area.

I haven’t been on Word Press long enough to make comparisons with the good old days, but I’ve noticed some issues. As an example, I am using the twenty sixteen theme because the twenty twenty theme I started with did not have a side bar. Well, what I did not realize right away was that the photos are not lined up in the twenty sixteen theme. As a result many of my posts look ugly. This is a bug they promised to fix when I asked about it. But after all this time they have not fixed it. I’ve also noticed problems with commenting but that seems to be working now.

    1. Happy to share it. So glad you were able to change your settings. I find it quite unethical that they didn’t ask us or have an opt in option instead of an opt out one.

Yeah, the themes here are so glitchy. I used to use the twenty-twenty theme for one of my clients but recently changed it to a better one for the same reason. I knew the HE’s wouldn’t help so I decided to just change the theme altogether.

  11. I agree with the opt in instead of opt out idea.

I had excellent help from the HEs, but that was over 5 years ago when I first set started my site. I have not used them since then. Maybe if they fired the HEs and hired Happiness Engineer Relief (HERs) they would have better service, lol.

    1. Yeah, I think the opt in option would be so much better. And the fact that they automatically opted us in without our consent till we pick to opt out was a very shady thing to do. I mean, they could have gotten tons of content before people started to opt out.

Haha yes, HER’s may be the way to go for better service lol.

  12. Thanks for letting us know what the new update to look forward to

    1. My pleasure.

  13. WOW! I Had no idea about the AI thing. That’s terrible. We should all write to WP demanding it should be opt-in. I went straight there and ticket the box. It’s outrageous.

And yeah, I never read their articles; maybe I should but I assume they would be ad-like.

    1. Yeah, a lot of bloggers had no idea about the AI stuff since WP was very shady about it. I found it so frustrating because they could have gotten so much content before people started opting out. We absolutely should write to WP but I wonder if they would even listen.

They are very ad-like and mostly push the paid plans and Blaze.

  14. And thanks for this post!! You’ve alerted a LOT of people to the potential selling of their work.

    1. Happy to do so, I know a lot of people weren’t aware of the AI stuff so I wanted to make sure they knew!

  15. Thoughtful, thanks.

    1. Thanks so much.

  16. I agree that the management of WP needs to offer the option of opting in for AI to use our content instead of telling us that we can opt out of it.

    1. Yeah, that would have made so much sense than forcing us to opt out considering people may not even know about that option.

      1. Yes it would be the honest thing to do.

  17. Jerks gotta jerk. Thanks for the heads up on AI!

    1. Yup, absolutely. No problem!

  18. Oh don’t get me started
the new update is typical and not smooth

My rank math Plugin is not working, WTF
I wonder if WP has to do anything with it.

Every time I come here to blog, there’s something new and WP is making it impossible to share.

    1. Yeah, the updates often mess with some of the plugins and cause all kinds of glitches. For me, I’m unsubscribed to many of the blogs I used to follow and now have to re-follow everyone. So annoying.

      1. 😩

        Rank math is not working
        What I do 😢

        I’m so pissed
Everytime I blog, there’s something new and complicated for me. 😭

        1. Urghh so annoying, you’re just going to have to contact the HE’s 😭

          1. Oh that’s stressful 😦
Last time I almost had a fight 🫣😔

  19. Thank you for the shoutout Pooja, appreciate that.

This whole fiasco has me seriously unhappy with automattic right now. So I’m taking a week off next week from blogging so I don’t do something I’ll regret, like nuking my blog and leaving.

    1. Happy to do so, thanks for letting us know how to opt out.

I think a lot of bloggers share your frustrations, the AI thing seriously pissed me off and the more I think of it the more annoyed I get.

      1. I’m not a business like you, so in one sense I can just leave. But with 24 years of book reviews and posts to my name, I “can’t” just pick up and leave. Coupled with how much work I’ve put into my blog over the last 5 years, it feels like I’m damned if I stay and damned if I leave.
And I’m on a paying plan too! Given, its mainly to get rid of the ads for anyone following me, but still….

        1. Yeah, it’s a lot of information to let go of and it would suck to lose all of it. Maybe you can use a different host and move to wordpress.org instead.

  20. dare if you dare sang scott

    1. I dare lol!

      1. annie from melbourne notes ur correct. some of her comments would not post. who knew? how does that make you feel?

      2. from the stp 2010 rip scott. love stp!

  21. In your first paragraph on AI, I think you have a typo. You wrote “WordPress is not selling…” when I think you meant “WordPress is now selling…”.

I can understand why they are doing this and it’s for the same reason that opting out is pointless… AI will get your posts whether or not WordPress sells them (via third party mirrors and web crawlers). They may as well get paid for it if it’s going to happen anyway, lol. Of course, they should pass the cash on to the writers. I’m sure for most of us this would equate to about a penny, but at least you’d be getting paid for your work!

    1. I changed it, thanks so much for letting me know.

Yeah, I get that but I still feel like it’s unethical. But it’s inevitable since we have like no rules with AI. I feel like we should… 😫 I’d take a penny lol!

  22. Great post Pooja. As with all corporate entities, they will make as much as possible off their users, including our content. Next up will be the vani cannibalizing of the platform before it dies….this is of course a very very slow death. Only long term users will recognize these changes.

I’ve opted out of the AI sharing. If I’m not making money off my content, no one should. 🤫

    1. Thanks so much. Very much so, it’s literally only about profits for them which is so disappointing.

Same here, I’ve opted out but who knows how much of our content they took before we did that 😭

      1. So true. That’s quite scary. 🥺

A & J PEI Treasures/E Jean Simpson, BEd, BA, MA

    Thanks for the info!

    1. Happy to share it!

  24. Thanks for raising this issue. I absolutely dislike the new interface of WordPress. I just opted out of the AI. It’s a cool feature for those who want to use it, but at least WordPress should remain AI free.

    1. My pleasure. I feel the same way. Our content should have been protected by them but instead they chose to exploit it.

  25. I agree. WordPress is not about providing service; it’s about profit! It is costing far too much! I’m going to get out at the end of my contract. Eight years!! They are far too expensive!

    1. I couldn’t agree more, it’s ridiculously expensive and doesn’t even have much traffic these days!

  26. I have three free blogs on WordPress and I have been happy with them. I enjoy blogging. So when I decided to add a fourth free site I figured it would be just as simple as the others were for me to do so many years ago. However, this time it was like fighting an immovable force and I could not figure out how to set up the free blog. WordPress gave me confusing steps to follow and in the end first of all it looked like I could begin to post on the site but could not figure out where the post went. Then the theme seemed odd and finally a band appeared on top of my new site about payment after which time if agreed that banner would disappear. Yet, WordPress agreed I had created another free site. Right now I have not been back to check on my new site but if it is still as confusing as it has at first seemed I am unsure of what to do or who to ask or anything? Years ago it was easy on WordPress now it seems an uphill climb,

    1. Yeah, I have noticed that every new change is making WordPress harder and harder to navigate. What we could once have done in a couple of clicks now takes forever to do. It’s so unnecessarily complicated now. I wish you the best with all your sites, hopefully the issues on the new one were fixed.

  27. Thank you for the information and links and for sharing your perspectives, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the post.

      1. Your link was helpful – thank you!

        1. Oh good!

  28. I’ve been using WordPress for twenty years and wordpress.com as a host for ten. There have been annoying things before now (including blocks, plan degredation, and useless AI crap) but overall I’ve been quite happy.

Selling off hosted IP is a bright line for me, however. I’m going to move my current site to a different host, and I may switch away from WordPress entirely. (It looks like Automattic, and not the open source project, is the problem. But Automattic’s closely involved with the open source side, so…)

I’m honestly not sure what Automattic’s end game is? Sell off customers’ IP, then try for an IPO à la Reddit? Do they just want to get out of the hosting business?

    1. Yeah, I think it’s just getting worse. I mean, it was bad but this was just so unethical. Automattic is definitely the problem, in my opinion. They destroyed Tumblr and are not doing the same thing to WordPress. What was once a vibrant and active platform is slowly being destroyed for profits.

I understand wanting to move, many bloggers have and some have quite blogging altogether. You can either self-host which I think is the best option as you won’t lose your audience etc. Or you can move to another platform, have you heard of Vocal? I’ve had good experiences there.

      1. Hi Pooja, because I’m an occasional writer on WP I never needed any assistance. But what you are saying about WP and them not replying back to you made me think. It does almost sound like so many other companies where they want your business/money but are no longer willing to reply back to you when you expect it . A coworker of mine has called this company over and over again in need of their help. Thankfully she hasn’t paid them anything yet. My thoughts are, if you aren’t willing to do all aspects of the business then why are you in that business in the first place. With WP, they should be willing to give at least all their paying customers top assistance.

        1. Yes, that’s a big issue these days. These companies want people to pay them but don’t want to provide appropriate customer care which is ridiculous.

  29. Love the idea of opting in instead of opting out! I’d support that in a second. <3

    1. Yeah, I think opting in would make so much more sense! Thanks ☺️

  30. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  31. Very well said. I completely agree with you that WordPress is getting worse day by day. I didn’t know that WordPress was selling our content to third parties. This is completely unacceptable. Bloggers work hard to create content. Selling someone’s content is like selling someone’s creativity. In my opinion, AI is a big threat to content creators.

    1. Yes, very much so. It’s so disappointing. AI is a big threat even in general but much more so to creators.

  32. Hi puja,
How are you ? Hope all is well !
I am here after long time just scrolling and get your post that remind me my past days on wordpress.com free version . I got so much issues that my free version gone and I had to shifted to self hosted . Now all ok . No disturbing anymore .

    1. Hi, hope you’re well and I am too. So glad to see you here again. So sorry you experienced those issues not he free version but glad it’s okay now that you’re self-hosting!

  33. Since I am on a free plan, I guess I am getting what I pay for! But I am never tempted to upgrade because I hear a lot of complaints from people who do.

    1. Yeah, honestly if you’re blogging for a hobby the paid plans aren’t even worth it anymore. There’s barely any memory being offered and the features are basic.

  34. Yeah, I opted out of them selling my info thank to Renard with the info. For the first time I noticed the change to WP, I was gone for a little and when I came back, I was like WTH 😊.

    1. Yeah, this change was a bit of a big one and much more noticeable. Glad you were able to opt out too 😊

  35. Oh no! !!!! I’ve been hearing about 3rd parties and I want NO part of it❣️

    1. I know, same here- they need to stop selling our content! 😫

  36. Fascinating stuff about the What Grinds My Gears. A lot has happened huh😀

Well, talking about AI, I hate it so sue me😂, Okay but seriously, artificial intelligence is a cheating mechanism that lures Writers into deep trouble. Better just write using your own brain power🙏

    1. Thanks so much. Yup so much has happened 😅

AI needs to be reigned in because if we don’t control it now it’ll be too late. Just my opinion though. Writers and all creatives are going to have a problem when AI is perfected. Jobs will be lost all over the world.

      1. Indeed Pooja🙏
In other words, we are doomed. In my country called Swaziland/Eswatini, the electricity company has raised units and tariff prices so consumers will be hard hit😭

        1. Same in Kenya, it’s already messing with prices 😫

          1. That is bad. Let’s pray to God, the situation gets better and not worse🙏

            1. Yes, hopefully it’ll get better. In Kenya, they are going to start charging for electricity in dollars which is so crazy because we don’t even use dollars here. They just want us to pay more. But yeah, I hope things improve.

    1. My pleasure!

  37. The new WordPress format has affected my keyboard and two keys don’t work (only in WordPress) so commenting is now tricky.

    1. Oh no, that’s annoying. Hopefully, that glitch is fixed soon.

  38. I agree with what you said, because I’ve written posts about it too. WordPress are getting really greedy and that is a common thing amongst companies who want to grow even further then they probably need to.

    1. It’s really sad to see that happening to WordPress but yes they seem much more focused on profits than their users.

  39. Yes. I hate all the new editions and changes WP made recently. Why try to fix what isn’t broken? I feel they should leave us know, if there is going to be new updates, by emailing us, I’m paying for a plan, and a domain too. I love my blog, and I want to keep being able to successfully blog, but WP makes it harder and harder these days to do it. X

    1. Yes, the least they could do is send out an email and let us know about the upcoming changes. They just happen randomly and always cause some glitches or the other.
