Are WordPress Stats Bogus?

WordPress Is Malfunctioning

I recently shared a post about my grievances with WordPress. Some called it a rant but after some word harsh letters from my lawyers they all agreed that it was simply positive input on how this platform could be improved. Jokes aside, there have been a lot of glitches recently (even for WordPress) and this time they’re actually major glitches. And many of these glitches are effecting our stats and our notifications. Which got me thinking, are WordPress stats just bogus at this point?

Also, I know I’ve been whining about WordPress a lot recently and my apologies. But to be fair, you’re the one that made the decision to follow a blog called LifesfineWHINE so you know…

Well, let’s get into it. Because if you know me, you know I don’t shy away from talking about the negatives as well as the positives. Even if it gets me shadow banned. Which after some harsh letters from WordPress’s lawyers I have been asked to rephrase that as “everything is fine, this is not a sinking ship at all.” Kidding by the way, WordPress’s lawyers have better things to do with their time than send me letters. But still, just for legal reasons, these are just my opinions and not facts. I’m also unstable right now thanks to Mercury being in gatorade or whatever. So yeah, that’s my defence. Astrology and stuff. But like actually though Mercury isn’t in retrograde right now so don’t worry.

And I’m going to stop now before I actually do get shadow banned.

Constant Issues

Back to WordPress, feel free to ignore the last part of my introduction lol. There have been constant issues plaguing this platform for a long time now. Which is so sad because when I first started blogging, almost ten years ago there were almost no glitches. I spent years without having to talk to a Happiness Engineer. Can you even believe that?

There are a bunch of changes being made to the design amongst other things. And bloggers are beginning to feel less and less in control of their own blog. Even those that pay large amounts for their plan and/or unique domain.

The truth is, people are quite unsatisfied with this platform. But because this community is such a wonderful one, many continue to use it anyway. I must admit that I’m one of those. I’m quite irritated with this platform on some occasions but at the same time I can’t let go of this blog because the friends I’ve made here really mean a lot to me. And to be honest, I don’t know if it’s possible to find another platform like this one where people are so kind and supportive.

So, we ignore the little glitches and the little changes. And we ignore when Happiness Engineers try to gaslight us into thinking the glitches are all in our head (more on that later). However, now the glitches are getting worse and it’s time to talk about them.

Are WordPress Stats Bogus?

Recently, I’ve read multiple posts about people complaining about WordPress’s stats and notifications not being accurate. There’s been an issue with Pingback’s for quite a while now and is something several bloggers have mentioned on their blog.

And then, just a few days ago I read this post. Which reminded me that the following count on WordPress has been inaccurate for quite a while now. I don’t know if any of you have noticed this or experienced it on your blog. But basically, some people’s following is randomly going up and down all of a sudden. I had this issue too. My following just kept decreasing despite gaining new followers daily. And then all of a sudden it went up by a lot even though I didn’t gain those many followers. It’s been happening again recently and this time it’s not correcting itself which is so annoying. And it really makes me wonder if our follower count is accurate or just some random number that’s WP’s screwed up system coughed up.

And the sad thing is, many bloggers including the one I linked the post from, have tried to contact WordPress about this glitch but have been gaslighted by the Happiness Engineers into thinking this is normal. It’s not, my followers never randomly decreased and increased till a while ago. Image of WP telling us everything is okay when it’s a total dumpster fire:

This is fine: The artist behind the meme | Street Roots

Also, I don’t blame the HE’s- they’re doing their job and are probably told how to respond to certain queries due to legal reasons.

Next, I read this post which also reminded me of another glitch that’s been happening. The streak count is way off and honestly just random numbers at this point. I didn’t post for like three days and somehow WP counted all three days and my streak continued. Last time I checked, that’s not how streaks works.

They Do Listen!

Are WordPress Stats Bogus?

Look at that, they do listen! Turns out complaining about stuff works. So many readers mentioned how annoying it was that they moved the Reader with no heads-up or anything and now look at this notification I got today. Who says whining can’t change the world?? Fingers crossed they listen to the rest of our complains too.

Final Thoughts

Reading all these posts, dealing with so many glitches this year. It’s all got me thinking, are WordPress stats just bogus? Can we even trust them at all anymore? And if WordPress stats are just bogus, what is going to happen down the line. I know some people don’t care about stats and that’s fine. But I think people should be concerned anyway because providing accurate stats is literally the bare minimum this platform has to do.

And then it makes me think, if these stats aren’t accurate how can we trust the stats they show us about our traffic. Because, friendly reminder, there was a time when they tried to limit traffic to sites depending on what plan they were on.

Have you ever noticed a random decrease and/or increase in followers? Have you noticed any inaccuracies in your stats? Are you also struggling with any glitches on WordPress? If so, how do you combat this issue or these issues? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. I couldn’t tell ya exactly, i know my weekly round up said i had 17 views, which is pretty odd considering

    1. I never know if it’s going to be a good week or a slow week anymore.

  2. I don’t know about our stats, I guess maybe they could be bogus? I do agree word press has had a lot of glitches of late, so annoying and frustrating!

    1. Yeah, I guess we’ll never know for sure but sometimes I wonder. Yes, it’s being extra annoying these days!

  3. It’s crazy because how the heck do you have 3 different writing streaks 😩 thanks for linking my post! Here’s to hoping that they do listen to some of the gripes. I can’t believe they tried to limit traffic to people’s sites at one point. How does one ever grow then organically? I just received the 50k views too and I’m like “ok great, but is it even accurate?!” lol 😆 thanks for your informative posts, always helpful 🙏 perhaps a bit of whining does some good! 😂

    1. Yesss, it’s so weird how most of the streak counts are inaccurate. I was happy to share your post, I think it’s important we’re vocal about these glitches because it’s the only way we’ll see changes. It’s so hard to grow when you can’t trust the stats Thank you! ☺️ Haha yes keep whining 😅

  4. They don’t make it easy on us that is for sure 🙂

    1. Yup, unfortunately they make it harder with each change 😭

  5. I’ve just been going along with the changes/updates and glitches. I mean, it’s WordPress and I don’t think it’ll ever change.

The other day, I received a notification that I was on a blogging streak and it had been my third day in a row. All I could do was shake my head and move on to edit my post I intended to publish the next day.

I hadn’t posted 3 days in a row. But let WordPress tell it, and I did. 🤣😂😆

    This part:

“And to be honest, I don’t know if it’s possible to find another platform like this one where people are so kind and supportive.

So, we ignore the little glitches and the little changes. And we ignore when Happiness Engineers try to gaslight us into thinking the glitches are all in our head (more on that later).”

I have learned, am learning that dumpster-fires are occurring everywhere and those creating them have no intentions of putting them out anytime soon. So, I’m just shuffling along on my side of the community where it hasn’t totally burned down yet.

Let’s hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon. 🙏🏾

    1. Yeah and we don’t have much say in it so I think going with the changes is all we can do. I think I just get irritated because I don’t care that much, I still want to know my real stats. It’s so disappointing to be gaining followers but the number is inaccurate.

Lol yeah, the streaks are just random numbers at this point 😅

True, most platforms have their problems and that’s why we stick with WP. That and the community of course 😊

  6. They do get inventive in their site presentation, but I just search around until I solve changes. I guess stats are not important to me as I’m not here for commercial purposes just the pleasure of blogging. It’s nice to see other sites and many are excellent and worth visiting.

    1. Yes, I think stats aren’t overly important to those blogging as a hobby but sometimes I wish I knew my real stats.

  7. As someone whose site is on private for more than a year now, I’d say it’s a glitch. Let me explain from my viewpoint.

Aside from approved viewers, the stats on a private site record views coming from the site owner. So every time I look at the WP Admin Dashboard (whether to write a new post or check the comments section), it gets logged as a view from the Philippines.

I would understand my stats being skewed given that, but not so much for public sites. Based on experience, WP doesn’t log your own views when your site is public. Nevertheless, I hope that gets ironed out soon.

    1. I see, that’s such an odd glitch. Yeah, your own views shouldn’t be counted as views to your site. Hope so too, there’s a lot of glitches that need to be fixed.

  8. My stats don’t do any of the things you mentioned, Pooja, they just increase once in a while. No problems. But, WP certainly has some other glitches, especially that Block thing. 😂

    1. That’s lucky, glad you’re not having these glitches. Trueee, the block editor is the worst- so glad I don’t have to use it 😭

      1. Me too, good for you on getting the Business Plan back, Pooja. 🤙🏻

  9. Tell me something new 😜

      1. Complete wp is bogus

        Same story every single time

  10. I definitely noticed the weird stats , and also some people will be automatically unsubscribed from my reading list which is sad cause I do try to keep up with certain blogs . So I basically have to resubscribe . I’ve been having to bookmark some blogs that I regularly talk to and read . It’s pretty sad since I definitely want to support them and like reading in the morning or afternoon .

    1. Oh yes, I’ve had that issue too. Certain blogs I look at every single day will no longer be on my Reader. I recommend making a list on the “Lists” option on the Reader. Add all the sites you usually visit to that list. It’ll make it easier for you and they’ll still show up even if you get unsubscribed automatically.

      1. Oh thanks !! I’ll try that out ! I really like keeping up with my friends on here and their blogs .

        1. No worries. I like it too and I think it’s always fun to visit other sites. Having a list makes sure you visit all your fav ones.

  11. Thanks for keeping an eye on these things, Pooja!

    1. Happy to do so, it helps me get in my weekly dose of whining 😅

      1. Well, that’s something for your trouble at least! 🙂

  12. You can’t trust the stats, random notifications, strangers, do gooders, friends, enemies, private bloggers, public ones, LoL it’s a rich men’s world LoL
Especially don’t trust those who say, you can trust me 🙂
Yes, I had some issues as well, inaccurate notifications and site malfunctioning. I wonder if they can figure it out eventually and make the WordPress a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race…

    1. Lol, it that ain’t the truth.
If they do make WP a better place, that would be a big win for humanity.

  13. They have been loaded with so many issues lately, that I’ve come to the conclusion, that we are irrelevant. As long as we stick around, they get paid, they get content, we bring them new customers by our mere continued use of the platform. Until customers start leaving in droves, they won’t really worry about a few moans. This may be my last year on WP. ☺️ Whine on Pooja 👏👏

    1. True, it’s becoming really difficult to even share content anymore. I’m sorry to hear that, I hope you continue on here or at least try self-hosting so you can stay part of the community 😊

  14. True, I am new to blogging and nearly just 2 months completed with WP still I have to contact Happiness Engineer 2 times. The main reason I used their chatbot for my queries, it is completely misguiding. Use WP help section instead.
And experience with Happiness Engineer is also not good because I got response after 4-5 days after I sent them complaint. I forgot about my complaint till then.
After your this article it is confirmed for me that WP is not functioning as expected by its users.

    1. So sorry to hear that. Yeah, Happiness Engineers can be really unhelpful sometimes and these days it takes forever to get anything fixed. There’s been so many glitches recently, I don’t even know what’s working right anymore.

  15. I ignore the stats. That’s not why I blog. 💖📚

    1. That’s good, if you’re blogging as a hobby stats aren’t very important 💕

  16. Yes! The post you linked to (Mitch Teamley) is just one person complaining about it. In the recent past I have compared the numbers and the graph with the number of people listed. You can do that when your number of followers are in the 400’s. The numbers did not match. Then the graph and the noted number of subscribers fell. I counted the people listed and it had gone up by two, and it did not match. I also watched the number of followers for a past date change, which is impossible unless we are time travelers. Maybe there were subscribers who went back in time and never followed me in the first place, like when you go back in time and kill your grandparents so you never existed. Then if you never existed it would difficult to travel back in time to kill your grandparents. Anyway, getting off track, something funky is going on with the subscriber stats. However, my thinking was that it does not matter. Why do you want to know that anyway? On the other hand the subscriber statistics is important for some people, and it is a bit unnerving that basic stuff like that isn’t working.

Unfortunately, like you say it is far from the only glitch. I’ve noticed many.

    1. That’s really interesting. I’m glad you took the time to double check the following count because I really hoped someone would do that. Now we know for sure that their count is sometimes off. Or that time travel does in fact exist. I don’t think most people care too much about the subscribers stats but I do still strongly feel we should get accurate stats. It’s the least they can do. Yes, unfortunately there are many other glitches too. Which is sad because there was a time when glitches were very rare on WP. I went years without having a single one when I first started.

  17. tempted at times to quit here, Pooja… these issues are becoming frustrating. I’ve been given a blank screen way too often in the past few days … comments not going through on others posts ..and in the midst of reading one post I find myself on another post 🤦‍♀️…
lol following doubled in numbers over night…back to normal now though.

We appreciate your *whining” lol…and allowing us to vent here too😬

    1. I know how you feel, it’s so frustrating when things don’t work right. But the community is worth staying for 😊

Haha thanks, always feel free to went on Lifesfinewhine 😉

      1. It’s what keeps us here true…the community.🤍

        pleasure and thanks 😬lol…🤍

    1. Oh yes, don’t even get me started with Elon and AI. I hate the idea of AI being a threat to humans. We’re supposed to use it to enhance our lives not the other way around.

I’m glad there’s folks like you in this world, we need more kindness! Thank you so much ☺️

  19. honestly im not sure since im not very good at keeping track of anything related to my blog lol my site was down for a month most likely due to not updating my plugins? oops
but that really sucks if i had the stats u had i would be really upset…
actually i have lost some followers too though? at least i think i did but im not very active so i understand it
my stats were not always high either… i understand why many people have a wordpress site but they use different ways to see their stats and they dont rely on wordpress for those things

    1. Oh yeah, you have to be super careful with updating plugins. It’s a pain but needs to be done.

Yeah, I think having other ways to see stats is a good idea. I use Google Console.

  20. There are constant little irritants on WP. But on the whole they are okay

    1. Yeah, I agree. As a whole, it’s a decent platform at least in comparison to others I’ve used.

  21. All I know is that my views suddenly dropped off a cliff. They are a quarter of what they were.

    1. And I’m willing to bet it had something to do with Blaze being introduced!

  22. I’ve wondered about stats too, they’re not accurate for sure, and no one is out their mind lol… I think wordpress is certainly collapsing slowly, as a company they need to work on how to manage their platform…otherwise it’s gonna be more hectic and people will move to other platforms.

    1. I agree, they need to really work on addressing these glitches because people are getting frustrated by them and are already beginning to leave.

  23. Yep, we didn’t use to have all these glitches. WP used to be a stable platform. It worked.
Now? You never know when you log in what you’ll be facing or if you’ll even be notified of stuff. Or if basic things will even work. Extremely frustrating…

    1. It was such a stable and easy to use platform. I miss those days. I don’t know if things have changed for you but I logged in today and the colours were different and I had to change some settings.

      1. I’ve been hit by the unfollow bug in the last few weeks. I stopped following 2 or 3 people and I finally asked one of them today and they hadn’t removed me, so it was wordpress. Sigh.

No changes to report today. I feel they do it in rolling waves. So I’ll be on the lookout for those changes coming my way.

        1. Yeah, it may change later. The colours are so annoying for me since I’m partially colourblind and it’s sort of messing with my eyesight.

I’ve had to refollow a bunch of people. Even those I visit daily. It’s extremely frustrating.

  24.     I don’t know if it applies here, but there seems to be an algorithm disease going around like a fauci lasagna that’s spoiled. What I noticed on Facebook is that I got suspicious notices that said something like : you had 13 views to your page this week, or day, or whatever. But the thing is that it was always exactly “13” over and over. Then it was exactly 163 every time. Then 169 several times in a time unit. Apparently there’s the same cluster of noble friends and gangs that always sit a bars that accommodate 11, 13, 163, and 169 chairs. Never “two, four, six, eight… who do we appreciate” as the song goes.
I haven’t posted on WP in a while, but the last time, I had to do New Post, Save Draft and then there was no Publish button. So I had to go to all posts, drafts, and then after finding the listing for the latest draft that I just made, going to the options dots and choosing “Publish”.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter at the moment because I don’t feel like writing anything because all the “likes” are from advertisers and I’d rather have eggplant caponata and anchovies with wine or something, maybe provolone or Parmesan cheese… 13 of them.

    1. That’s so true, every platform has so many glitches. Instagram is even worse. It’s almost unusable these days.

  25. I have been on WP about 10 years and I definitely liked it better in the early years. And yes, all of a sudden I have noticed that little reminder about the reader! Nice going!

    1. Same here, I’ve been here about eight years and I miss how it was. But I’m okay with them changing things, I just wish they would change things in a way that made it more user friendly. Thanks!

  26. I guess I’m a basic blogger, because I don’t notice these things at all. lol. Except the Reader icon, but I didn’t have a hard time with that change.

Idk. Maybe being a little bit older and having been on the web longer, I’ve seen so many platforms come and go, take giant nosedives and stop being fun/useful altogether, I find WP to be the most stable (I’ve had some variation of my blog here since 2009) and the least addictive/loud/harmful. The hiccups here seem mild in comparison to what’s going on the rest of the web; at least for me.

    1. I totally get what you mean, compared to other platforms I really don’t mind WP as much. It’s still useable and the community here is really nice. Which is rare for the internet lol.

  27. I’m glad I don’t focus of stats because I know I would be pulling my hair out. But I’ve notice that when I do get a new follower sometimes the number of followers doesn’t change. I never really said anything because I always thought WP’s system was slow at updating the numbers 😅

    1. Imagine having to explain it to your clients, I’m this close to literally pulling out my hair lol 🤏🏼
Yeah, I think it’s not just slow it’s like broken so the count is always a little off 😭

      1. WP really needs to up its game and work on all its problems.

  28. Amusing post. Yes, WordPress stats are bogus in more ways than one. They are certainly meaningless. My 12 year old granddaughter has demonstrated for me how she can post an unflattering picture of me on one of her social media accounts and get hundreds of likes right away!

    1. Thanks so much. True, that’s how it is online. Use the right tags and you’ll get tons of likes. Your granddaughter sounds smart, she knows how it’s done haha.

  29. I’ve noticed the streaks are inaccurate. I have a calendar at the bottom of my blog that shows the days I posted and the streaks don’t coincide with my calendar.
I don’t feel WordPress is as stable as it used to be because of the block editor. I use an FSE theme and it seems the subscribe widget has errors, yet it is part of the original theme. I commend the programmers that created the themes, but it seems they should be sure they are working properly and keep them updated.
With that said, I just work around the glitches and enjoy the WordPress community.

    1. Yeah, the streaks are pretty random. Mine make huge leaps completely randomly.
True and adding blocks to everything including newer themes is only making it worse. I think blocks were so unnecessary and things were fine as they were. Yes, it’s wonderful that they create these awesome themes but they need to update them and make sure they’re compatible with all the blocks and widgets.
Yes, the community is very much worth sticking around for 😊

  30. Good there are some things working and you’re preaching to the choir here, Pooja.. Glad it’s not just me. TG, I’m glitch free at the moment❣️

    1. Haha yes, I’m so thankful you’re glitch free for now and hope that continues!

      1. 😹😅 I hate to jinx it but let’s see how long it lasts. 😾

        1. Hopefully a long time 😭

  31. I’m glad the lawyers are okay with your, well, un-rants. Aren’t you, simply and metaphorically, grinding gears? As you know, I share your existential responding to updates. Anymore, it’s a situation of let’s find what’s been made harder or nonexistant, now. I noticed a tiny thing in that something red (the frame around an image to insert) is now blue. Maybe it’s a response to red-ink conditioning, though frankly I liked the greater noticeability of the red. You note something more important regarding stats, and to treat them in a bogus way is like saying numbers do not matter and maybe didn’t need inventing in the first place. On the positive side, as you also note, the Reader icon. I’ve never really known what the Reader is or for (I know, probably outrageous not to know), but now I’ll have an easy way to find out. Great work by you, as always.

    1. Yes, they are definitely not rants lol. I’ve noticed some major colour changes with the stats page but that could just be my site glitching. Or I’m being punished by the WP overlords lol.
Yeah, I mean even if some people don’t care about stats it’s really about ethics. Lying to your users about their stats is just awful.
This is your sign to have fun on the Reader (not that you can actually find it). Thanks so much.

  32. With you, Pooja! Interestingly, not everyone has the same problems–or fixes. E.g. I didn’t receive the Reader move notification. And my Subscription data has been further and further off since the start of the year, with no corrections in sight. Congrats on your new book, btw!

    1. That’s definitely interesting. That could mean the causes for the glitches may be different too. Something to think about. Thank you so much, it’s my first book so everything is still very new and exciting.

  34. Thank you for speaking for all of us, Pooja.

    1. I’m happy to, I can live with the other glitches but not having accurate stats really bugs me. It’s the bare minimum they could provide.

  35. Wonderful Post, I hear the frustration in my husband voice every night and it’s always WordPress

    1. Thanks so much and I understand your husbands frustrations, this platform can be so annoying.

  36. I have noticed my stats seem to randomly increase which is kind of strange since I have not posted anything new in quite some time.

    1. You should check the source of the stats because it could be coming from Search Engines.

      1. I have noticed my spam numbers are up so that my be it.

        1. Oh yeah, that could be it.

  37. I don’t see the eyeglass icon for the reader. My media isn’t coming through on my posts anymore like they were at first. I don’t know what to think about WP anymore. I rarely write on WP. I do like the community though. Hopefully one day they will get it right.

    1. That’s very frustrating, sorry you’re experiencing that. Hopefully they get their act together and do better.

  38. This is hysterical, Pooja!! OMG, I literally laughed out loud! I’m one of those people who don’t pay attention to stats, but I agree with you that it’s important. If a platform is going to claim to provide this, they need to follow through accurately. But when Mercury’s in Gatorade, you know, stuff happens. . . . (I strongly advise against drinking Gatorade with mercury in it, by the way, just so the lawyers know. . . . 😉 )

    1. Lol thanks! Yeah, even if you don’t check stats they should still provide them. I mean, it’s the bare minimum. Lol, I’m with you on that 😅

      1. Totally agree. I do occasionally check them, but since I’m not trying to monetize, It’s just for personal interest. Still. C’mon people. Do what you say. I’m calling the EPA. There’s mercury in my Gatorade.

        1. Exactly, if you offer something you should follow through with it. Not the mercury, they should really put a warning on this Gatorade bottles!

  39. I think when you’re someone that really cares about stats other than putting out content ..you may tend to worry abit..last year when I started I was worried about stats and numbers and was averaging 100 views daily on WordPress and 500 page views daily ..I soon I realize I have to be more active and patient and specific..sometimes when i use analytical platforms my engagement tend to be higher than the one on WordPress..Thanks for sharing this…

    1. It’s true, it’s good to be active and concentrate on your content too. Thanks so much.

      1. You’re welcome 🌼

  40. Personally, I don’t bother looking at the stats because it’s not going to change what I’m doing. It just causes anxiety and self-doubt. But I do agree that there are a lot of glitches on WordPress. I’ve found that sometimes, I just need to get out of WP and reboot the computer.

    1. That makes sense, I think sometimes computers are not compatible with the platform and that can cause issues.

  41. Fascinating and thought provoking blog post and question Pooja. To be honest, these days and in fact this year 2024, I noticed the glitches here on WordPress which is now called the “Jetpack App” and it is so annoying to see the glitches because they are affecting our work as Creative Bloggers and we don’t really get to enjoy the experience of blogging anymore.

Also, I believe these Engineers behind this platform need to avoid making additional changes and just leave things as they are.

Lastly, I like your sense of humor Pooja and I like to laugh so thanks for that😂😂. To add a joke in this comment, here is one “Stop whining and complaining about the glitches and just delete this blog and forget about blogging because the glitches are making us cry and what better way to stop a crying baby by just giving it candy and in this case delete this shit”, haha😂😂😂😂

Have a great Friday my friend. Hope you like the joke

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, the glitches are making it so much harder for us to blog. True, I wish they would just leave the platform alone.

Haha thanks so much. Love your addition, made me chuckle 😅😅

  42. I never know what they gonna do or be up to, thing is some of the folks whom I’m cool with such as yourself I see on other platforms and I’ll always show the love beyond here, glad to meet many great talents such as yourself, this place could really take things to a whole different level if they wanted to. This is the apartment building you live at because folks are cool, however the Slum lord property owner is A Jive turkey

    1. Yup, that’s exactly it. Love the community but annoyed by the overlords.

      1. We think the same and FYI I feel that way on all platforms of social media, it’s very dare I say Matrix.

  43. Terrific and true 👍

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  44. Hi Pooja, 2cents. I think, as a whole, the internet, now more than ever, is unreliable. Moreover, it’s impossible to know what is intentional, what is a mistake, a bug, or a feature. Also, the information available is overwhelming. Add to that the infusion of money – in every aspect – and I’ve no doubt it is a large factor in the declining mental health [and general intelligence (IQ)] of the population. World wide!
That said – it’s become impossible to live and function without it. Unless one goes completely off grid and total self-sufficient.

    1. Yeah, I agree. We’ve never had so much information or contact with others throughout history until the internet. Of course, it’s going to lead to mental health issues as well as declining concentration spans. But yes, we rely on it so much.

  45. Funny you should write this because I feel a huge down fall inn engagement and I don’t know why.

    1. Yeah, I feel it too. WP isn’t as active as it used to be.

      1. Uggghhh! You’re right!

  46. I’ve had some weird follower count issues too, so thanks for sharing and making me feel less alone. I’ve had convos with the Happiness Engineer quite a few times, and yeah they listen, to be honest. I think these glitches are what make the platform more interesting (like a content idea 😅)

    1. Yup, definitely not just you experiencing that. Haha true, it gives us something to whine about 😉

  47. […] are SO MANY glitches on WordPress these days. I recently talked on a recent post about a glitch with the followers/subscribers count as well as the one with the streaks. Other than […]

  48. Oh yes! WP stats are ridiculously inaccurate. My husband is a PhD biostatistician. He thinks, in terms of accuracy/honesty, that WP should eliminate their bogus stat counts all together and encourage people to check out Google Analytics. I posted several times about other ingrained WP errors. Check out this post:

    1. Yeah, I agree with him. I always check on Google Analytics and the stats are very different from what WP shows us. It’s a shame because stats can be important. Will definitely check out your post.
