Taking A Couple Days Off

Taking A Couple Days Off

Hey, everyone! Unfortunately, I woke up with the flu today and have not had a lot of energy. I’ve been trying my best to have herbal remedies and eat/drink things that will keep my immune system at its best. However, I still feel pretty wiped out both mentally and physically so I have decided to take a couple of days off from blogging.

I don’t think I have the energy to create and share content or to visit other blogs. So, I’m not going to. I always say, blogging should be something we enjoy doing, it shouldn’t feel like a chore. And if I force myself to continue blogging while I’m not doing well it’s going to turn into a chore and I don’t want that. Which is why I thought it would be best to just take a couple of days off to focus on myself.

Generally, I tend to get a little depressed when I’m not feeling well but I’m happy to say that was not the case this time. I think this has a lot to do with my Stoic practices, they’re teaching me to be more neutral and moderate. When I woke up feeling ill, I thought to myself, “it is what it is, at least I’ll get some time to rest and eat healthy.” I’m obviously not happy to be sick but I’m also not sad, I’ve accepted it (yay!).

I wanted to share a Stoic quote about this topic:

“To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of its strength and burden.”

— Seneca
