Annette Funicello Quote

Quote Of The Day

Annette Funicello Quote:

Annette Funicello Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

So much has been going on with me recently. Last week, we had some cousins over because they recently moved to Nairobi from Mombasa for uni. They’re a lot of fun and although this was only the second time I’ve hung out with them, it was nice.

Yesterday, my mum’s cousins came over for a while. This was my first time meeting them as they’re from the UK. But they were so lovely and extremely friendly. And they brought so many gifts, I’ve never received so many gifts from any relatives. Some people are just so generous.

And today is a special day because it’s two of my favourite cousins birthday. They’re brothers and born on the same day but different years. It’s extra special because one of them is turning 18 which is a big one. Although we won’t be able to spend the day together as he’s off to uni, I hope he reads this and knows we all wish him a very happy birthday!

I’ve been doing so much so much socialising recently I feel like I need a break lol. Like it’s been fun but I’m too much of an introvert so now I need some me time. I think I’m burnt out because I keep having this recurring nightmare and wake up having a panic attack… Anyway, it’s been a busy week.

What I’m Listening To This Week:

  1. Yay! Happy Birthday to your cousins! 🥳🎊🎉🎂 You’ve had such fun and exciting adventures lately I see! I really hope you get that down time you need though soon. Them nightmares need to get hell outta there now! Lol.

    1. Thank you, for sure it’s been an exciting time! Lol agreed, the nightmares are annoying 😂

  2. Wow Annette…she was a wise Mouseketeer(I think she was “Wednesday!! Anything-Can-Happen-Day” hehe as I recall:) I’m that old :)…saw her on a round Raytheon TV in black & white..

    1. That’s so cool you saw her back then 😊

      1. PS love the quote:)

        1. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

  3. The quote is right! I remember movies jerin them, she was very beautiful.

    1. Absolutely and yes I think she was very beautiful back then.

  4. Great quote

    1. Glad you enjoyed it.

  5. That’s a great quote to remember!

  6. I appreciate the quote; it’s truthful. Thank you for sharing it!

And Happy Birthday to your cousins! I hope they’re able to truly enjoy themselves! 🙌🏾🎊🥳🎉👏🏾

    1. Glad you liked the quote and thanks, they both had good birthdays! 😊

      1. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

  7. I was sick with the flu most of last week, so this week is a recovery week, sigh.

    1. Oh no, hope you’re better now.

  8. “And they brought so many gifts, I’ve never received so many gifts from any relatives.”
This actually sweet. It feels good when people feel genuinely, and act accordingly.
Being a guest or welcoming someone as a guest, are healthy practices.

“They’re brothers and born on the same day but different years. ”
This is beautiful. They can celebrate their birthdays together.
I’m studying history at present. And my challenge is remembering two dates which looks similar. For example: 1st July 1869 and 1st July 1896

“I think I’m burnt out because I keep having this recurring nightmare and wake up having a panic attack… Anyway, it’s been a busy week.”
    It happens lol.😂
Seeing two many causes me instant burnout as an introvert. And I feel desparate and vulnerable, to quickly run away at ‘my safe space’ (BIG RELIEF…).

    1. I agree, guests bring a lot of joy and presents too haha. For me, I never had a difficult time with dates when studying history my issue was that certain history just didn’t get me interested 😂
It’s true, most of us seem burnt out these days. It’s a part of life 😭

  9. I think this quote is very true. Nobody’s life is perfect, yet they can be happy. I’m glad that you are having fun meeting cousins.

    1. I think so too, as humans we all have our imperfections and that’s okay. Thanks so much.

      1. Very right. You’re most welcome

  10. Another quote by Voltaire comes to mind “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good”. Perfect is not what one should strive for, wonderful will certainly suffice. I used to listen to that Pink Floyd song a lot when I was young.

    1. I really like that quote too, it’s very true. I was really into Pink Floyd as a teenager and when I saw this song in my recommended I wanted to share it here too. Glad you were also a fan.

    1. Yup, as long as I have some me time I don’t mind family being around. I think when we stop expecting life to be perfect at all times, it gets so much easier and less scary. At least in my experience. Thanks as always for stopping by! 😊

happy birthday to your cousins 🎉

…and hope those recurring nightmares ease up, Pooja … 🤍

    1. Thanks so much and still having nightmares but fingers crossed 🤞🏽

  14. Love the quote! Sometimes I think we all need to remember to enjoy the imperfect b/c waiting on perfection can be exhausting.
Glad to see you’re feeling better and socializing more…enjoy your recharge time.

    1. Glad you liked it! Yeah, as a perfectionist absolutely agree. It’s exhausting. Sometimes we just have to live life the best we can, not perfectly. Thank you!

  15. Love this quote Pooja and so true!

    1. Glad you enjoyed it!

  16. I like that quote Pooj! I am glad you had a good time with your cousins! Happy 18th birthday to your cousin, and also wishing his brother a happy birthday! Xx

    1. Glad you liked the quote! Thanks so much!

  17. I guess, “uni” stands for university?
    Thank you for sharing.

    1. Yup, that’s right. Thanks so much.

  18. I’m glad the time that has passed since your last post has been filled with family and fun, Pooja. And now it’s time to recharge. I do understand that!

    1. Thank you so much, yes it’s been really nice and this week is mostly going to be me relaxing which I’m looking forward to as well!

  19. That’s been a mantra of mine as well 🤣😎🙃

    1. That’s great! 😀

  20. Dear Pooja
Thanks for liking my re blog of Nusrat’s post, added with my poem. ❤️🌺❤️🌺

    1. My pleasure. Thanks for stopping by as well ❤️

  21. The quotation’s good–it’s apt because it’s true. I’m pleased to read you’ve had such pleasant visits with cousins (plus the happy birthday salutation). I can agree: I get tired after social interactions and need to recharge, away. But it’s charging in a different way to be with them and then to have the memories. I hope both realities, social and individual, continue to go positively for you. Oh, I’m still trying to move (so much more complicated than I thought or, well, hoped) and still breathing bad air in my infested place. Sigh.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote. Thanks so much. Yeah, after all that socialising we need some time to recharge so we can do some more socialising haha. Oh no, that’s awful- hope you’re able to move soon!

  22. Gifts are nice and when not expected… that’s cool.

    1. Yeah, that made it even better.

  23. The quote is so true, Pooja! I’m still having issues with WP, and slowly getting around to visit. 💕

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote! Oh no, sorry about that- hope it’s resolved soon 💗

Neat quote. Glad you are keeping busy with family.

    1. Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed the quote.

  25. Great quote. Too often we chase perfection and miss all the good stuff along the way. Sounds like a fun time with relatives, and nice to have some down time after all that. That’s a classic song… I’ve been listening to a wide variety, as usual, trying to mix genres and periods for interest’s sake.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote. I so agree, chasing perfection just makes us waste our lives away. That’s great, I love how diverse your taste in music is. I often just stick to what I like haha.

      1. It’s true we can waste precious time instead of just doing our best then moving on.

And hey, don’t forget… you regularly check out and comment on my Sunday classical music posts, so your musical tastes are more diverse than you give yourself credit for! 🙂

        1. Haha yes that’s true, thanks to your posts I’ve dipped my feet into a lot more genres actually! 🙂

  26. Happy Birthday Cousins (( <3 )) !!! I LOVE the quote and sure hope it's right or I'm in big trouble (bit of a failing perfectionistic 😉 introvert here … lol) !! Enjoy this time and it appears you and your family have bright futures ahead ~ 😀 P.s. & the song (perfection) !!!

    1. So glad you enjoyed the quote! As a failing perfectionistic introvert myself too, I can relate 😅 Thank you so much, have a lovely holiday season!

  27. Busy week with family and enjoying it…good week 👍🏾.

    1. That’s great, glad you’re having a good time with them. 😊

      1. I was referring to your time with family 😊.

  28. When I was watching Annette as a Mouseketeer or in Beach Party Bingo, I never would have imagined she was also a philosopher!

    1. Yes, she’s so smart too!

  29. Wow, it sounds like you’ve had such a busy and heartwarming week! 😊 I love how you described meeting your cousins from both Nairobi and the UK — family really does bring so much joy, and it’s amazing that they showered you with gifts. Happy birthday to your cousins, especially the one turning 18!

I completely understand the need for some introvert “me-time” after so much socialising — it’s important to recharge. I hope you get some calm and restful moments soon. I really enjoyed this week’s quote too; Annette Funicello’s words always feel uplifting. I’d love it if you could visit my blog as well and share your thoughts!

  30. Oh my Annette of the Disney series for kids rises again. Good observation.

    1. Yup, this was a great quote from her. 🙂

  31. Glad to hear you are having fun with family. Winter is settling in here, so I am looking forward to staying inside and getting some creative things done.

    1. Thanks so much. Hope you get a lot done, winter is the best time for creative hobbies.

  32. Life’s not perfect but I wouldn’t swap it for nothing.

    1. I feel the same way 😊

  33. I love the quote – perfection is highly overrated. Love the family time, but hope you got your necessary recharge and that the nightmare went away, Pooja! 💞

    1. I totally agree, perfection just makes us miserable at the end of the day. Thank you and yes I did! 💕

Sounds like a full and exciting week, PJ … Life may not be perfect, but it’s full of little joys like family, blessings, and connections.

    1. Yes, it was a wonderful week. Thanks so much.

        You are very welcome …

  35. Incredible song. Also it must be really nice at times, to have so many family members. 🙂

Also, every time I hear Annette Funicello’s name, Beach Blanket Bingo starts playing in my mind. heh

    1. Thank you and it can be really nice with the right family members 🙂

      1. That’s right. I have one family member I enjoy, outside of those I brought into the world. 😀

          1. 🙂 We should definitely cherish these connections – however many or few, we’re fortunate. <3

            1. So agree 🙂

  36. Great quote! I hear you on fun 🤩 overload and needing time!! It’s almost coming. lol

    1. Lol yup it gets overwhelming after a while 😭

  37. This quote is spot on. Nothing’s perfect. Enjoy the little things along the way. Love to you, sweet Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much. Lots of love to you as well.

  38. That’s cool to hear about the family visiting, I love it when folks get together because they really appreciate each other. I sometimes love gifts but it’s hard for people to know what to give me. I like tea and jam and good books. But the thing is no one knows what tea, jam of books I actually like. LoL when I get those I go, wow, they don’t know me at all… Spoiled, I know.
Anyways, my sister is also in the UK and I will be visiting her soon, we are expecting a baby boy in a few months. Exciting!!! Never been to that part of the world before. I would love to go and also feel super anxious about it all, the flight, the stay and the timing for all this. At the end of the day it doesn’t have to be perfect for us to enjoy a little get together, right?

    1. Thank you so much. I think it’s hard because you’re expecting something specific. It happens.

Omg how exciting- congratulations! I’m sure that will be a lovely visit.

      1. I’m looking forward to it
