I know you see me watching you
Your lips curl into a smile
Your fingers running through your hair
Your perfectly rounded hips swaying
Your body moving to the music
I’m captivated… desperate
To hold you in my arms once more
But instead I look away
Reluctantly
And focus on the woman in my arms
The woman merely hours ago
I promised to love and cherish
Till death do us part
About Watching You:
This poem is one of those random ones that popped into my mind and I had to write it down because why not. As you can maybe tell by my lack of related content, I’m not one for relationships. Definitely not long term ones. However, I do find relationships fascinating to observe. Some say I’m nosy, I say it’s all for my art…
Anyhoo, I find it fascinating how some people end up settling instead of being with who they truly want to be with. Sometimes it’s due to circumstances, sometimes it’s due to mistakes, sometimes it’s just bad luck and things didn’t work out. And I think that’s what this poem is about. Sometimes you can crave someone so much but yet know that you’ll never be with them. That and also this is a friendly reminder to not invite ex’s to the wedding lol…
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the poem. Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments because I would love to hear them!
