Vernon Saunders Law Quote

Quote Of The Day

Vernon Saunders Law Quote:

Vernon Saunders Law Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

I’m in a bit of a funk. Writers block is at my throat, fighting the words once more. I wonder when things got so complicated in life. I remember the days when it was simple. The good old days when times were bad.

It’s not that I’m sad, I’m not sad. It’s more like an indifference to it all. I’m tired. Or maybe I just need to take my B12 supplement which I keep forgetting to do lol.

In less melancholic news, we went to the Karen Blixen museum this weekend and it was my first time there in a long time. It was interesting to go back as an adult because her life seemed so much more sad and lonely now when I think about it. A bit of a tragedy despite all she achieved and fought for. But in another way, she’s also inspiring because despite all she went through she continued to pursue what she loved and helped many people along the way. She didn’t let life get to her or stop her from achieving all she did.

What I’m Listening To This Week:

I thought this was a really cool listen, created from poetry by Amy Jones.

  1. hi Pooj…sorry your having a bit of trouble with writers block, and indifference, and I hope you start to feel less tired soon, too! hugs! Xx

    1. Thank you so much, feeling a bit better today!

  2. I heard the quote before.
But I didn’t know who originally said it.
Now I’ll have to Google Vernon Saunders Law to find out who he is.

    1. I think he had something to do with sports, baseball if I’m not wrong.

      1. Yes, I googled him.
He apparently won the Cy Young Award for Best Pitcher in Major League Baseball back in 1960 and won the World Series with the Pittsburg Pirates that same year.

  3. Thank you for sharing something so honest. We all go through seasons where the words don’t come easily, but those quiet moments often lead to our deepest reflections. I love your perspective on Karen Blixen her resilience and determination despite life’s hardships is truly inspiring. Wishing you renewed energy, fresh inspiration, and yes… maybe that B12 helps too! 😊

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, I think ups and downs are definitely a part of life. The B12 is helping! 😊

  4. This quote is so true. As for the little bit of writer’s block, I hope you’ll get over it very soon. Might be you need a small break to recover yourself. My prayers are with you, Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much, I’m doing better today.

      1. Good to know that you are doing better. Stay healthy and blessed.

        1. Thanks, you too.

  5. Great quote and so true, thanks for sharing

    1. Thanks so much, happy to share it.

  6. I saw the movie based on Babette’s feast (with the same name). That was an amazing movie with Danish and Swedish actors. Sounds like an interesting museum. About the quote, I like it. It is best to learn from others but sometimes you have to make the mistakes yourself, and that is harder. Experience is indeed a hard teachers.

    1. She was a great writer too and artist. Out of Africa is another movie adapted from her book based on her own experiences in Kenya.
That’s true, I think the lessons we learn ourselves are harder but at the same time teach us lessons that remain with us.

  7. It seems natural that you need some inhale time, after having a big exhale this year! Taking your vitamins does seem a good idea though, D too, if you need it, and HYDRATE! I hadn’t been familiar with Karen Blixen by name, so thanks for that, and the quote is so good!

    1. True, this year has been a lot but in a good way too! I took my vitamin D for the month but I kept forgetting my B12 which I’ve taken today and already feeling a bit better. Check out Karen Blixen’s history/life- it’s quite interesting.

  8. Hi Pooja, I love the quote. Ironically I have been this teacher, kids tried to get me in trouble for giving them the test lol needless to say, they failed miserably
Anyhow, sorry to hear you are feeling down, what helps me is hanging out with folks that help me process and move on. Coincidentally, all of them are my old friends from 30 years ago, I’m so lucky to still be in touch. I feel like they are the only people who really know me. Anyways, if you have those old friends reach out to chat or write them a letter. I’m writing letters to feel better or reach out : hello, this is me! How are you doing?

    1. Haha well, maybe they will learn from that experience.
I feel that way about my best friend too, we’ve been friends since school and still talk all the time. Writing letters sounds so fun, I wish I could do more of it but our postal service sucks lol.

      1. Oh really? It’s outdated a bit I guess. Now it’s all digital

        1. Yeah but there was an art to letter writing. It feels good to put the words on paper instead of a text.

          1. I totally agree, it’s very therapeutic

  9. The quote is very true. I also believe it is better to learn from other people’s experiences :).

Hope you get past the writer’s block soon.

I have been taking advantage of some better weather to get things done outside. We lost power for a day last week after a funnel cloud passed through. (there was a tornado warning, but it did not touch down, but wind knocked down a lot of trees and power lines) Have a wonderful week.

    1. Haha very true, a lot easier to learn from other people’s experiences. Thanks so much.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the warmer weather, hopefully there won’t be any more tornado related issues again.

  10. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

    1. It happens to so many of us because we become disconnected from ourselves especially as we get older. I’m so glad you got better and can now fully enjoy life. I’m sure I’ll get there one day too.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, I think the quote hold so much truth.

      1. You are most welcome

Now that’s one thing I’ve never suffered from. Words come tumbling out and usually I’m in the mood to run with them. Sorry. I’m no help.

    1. Lucky you, I wish the words came to me as easily!

  14. I’m listening to Enya’s “And Winter Came” cd this week. I know it is the height of summer, but it’s just been calling me 😀

On the words front, I haven’t written a post in almost 2 weeks. Thankfully my schedule was buffered for almost a month, so I’m not in any danger of running out of posts, but man, I’ve just been totally indifferent to blogging. For me, I think it is work. Just too much of it.

    1. I love Enya so much, it’s always the right season for any of her songs haha.

I think it’s the same for me, work got a bit overwhelming this month and I couldn’t keep up with blogging/writing.

The quote is an interesting observation to something we all know by default. Like the school of hard knocks. It is life and it happens to everyone.

    1. Absolutely, life happens to us all.

  16. That quote is so true, and I’m sure your writers block will cease soon. We all get in a funk every now and then.

    1. Thank you so much, yup I’m sure I’ll feel better soon.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  17. A heartfelt and relatable reflection. Every writer experiences moments of doubt and creative struggles, but those quiet battles often lead to deeper thoughts and more meaningful words. Wishing you renewed inspiration and a smooth flow of creativity. ✍️✨

    1. Thank you so much, totally agree.

Sorry to hear about writers block. Hope it clears.

    1. Thanks so much.

  19. It’s one of the truest quotes ever quoted. Sorry you’re feeling down. 🤣😎🙃

    1. I think so too, very true quote. Thanks so much 😊

  20. That quote is spot on, Pooja! 💞 Hoping you knock that block out of the way soon!

    1. Absolutely and thank you so much! 💕

  21. Hello Pooja, been a while. You just have to ride it out my dear, accept and it will pass…nothing is permanent! Loving vibes to you.🧡

    1. Hey, yeah thankfully the bad stuff is never permanent. Thanks so much 💕

I hope the words find their way back to you soon. 🙏 Sometimes God uses quiet seasons to refresh our hearts and remind us that our worth is not measured by constant productivity.

    1. It’s true, sometimes we need a break and time to do nothing.

  23. I’m sorry to hear about your writer’s block. You’ve had so much going on lately, you’re bound to hit a slump. Use this time to rest, recharge, and get your creative spark back.

    1. Thanks so much, I’m doing a little better now. I took a day trip yesterday and feel a bit more recharged.

  24. Out of Africa – one of my favorite movies.Another great one in a long list from Redford. Vernon Law – yep. Baseball inspires many fine quotes.

    1. Out of Africa was filmed at the house we visited, very cool to see it all. Hope you’re well.

  25. I’m sorry you’re in a funk. That’s an unfun feeling and attitude. I imagine it will pass, since you have so many interests and, of course, will keep writing. The quotation, I think, is painfully true. We fail by not knowing what’s going on; then we learn. Sigh. Regarding music, when I drive I listen to a station out of Philadelphia that plays Classical music during the day and jazz at night. I don’t know much about either genre, but it’s a pleasant experience to have while on the road.

    1. Thanks, I’m feeling a little better now and more motivated to write. Yes, some things we only learn through experience.
That sounds nice, I do find both Jazz and Classical music pretty fun to listen to.

  26. Hope things improve for you soon

    1. Thanks so much, doing better now.

  27. I’ve recently discovered that when I’m feeling less like writing I have to clear my head. In my case I lose myself in a really easy book to read that takes little or no concentration or binge watch a Netflix series.

When I’m outside trying to stay on top of the gardening I listen to music. With the continuous heatwaves we’ve been having I’ve returned to reggae music, it seems just right!

A great quote and something to remember when life is tough. It’s remembering to learn the lesson that so many of us humans often forget, only to repeat the lesson more than one!

    1. That’s true for a lot of us I think, writers block hits me most when I’m overwhelmed or tired. I’ve been reading more which helps, I’m not finding anything good to watch unfortunately.

Reggae is so fun, I don’t listen to it much but when I do I always enjoy it!

True, remembering the lessons is the hardest part.

  28. The quote is profound, and so true, Pooja. Much love to you!

    1. Thanks so much, hope you’re doing well!

  29. Love the quote!!
I know the feeling, it happens! They’ll find you, they always do! Great exhibit!

    1. Thanks so much! It happens and hopefully the writers block will be gone soon!

  30. Sure thing Pooja we gain more of ourselves through living experiences and not avoiding life

    1. Absolutely, life is all about living.

  31. Such a profound and true quote, Pooja

    1. Thank you, glad you enjoyed the quote.

  32. hate writing funks! I can usually expunge them by researching my next topic. That inspires me. I tried to visit you on X–then saw you aren’t there! But you’re on LI.

    1. Yeah, writing funks are annoying because the words are at the tip of your tongue but refuse to come to life! I usually just take break and eventually feel like writing again. Yup no longer on X but I’m on LinkedIn & IG.

  33. Great quote👏👍I am sure you overcome this situation.

    1. Thanks, I appreciate it.

      1. welcome dear friend

  34. haha I love that quote

    1. Glad you enjoyed it 😀
