Dolly Parton Quote

Dolly Parton Quote:

Dolly Parton Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

I really love the Dolly Parton quote above. It’s a much needed reminder that although we don’t have control over what happens to us, the way we choose to react is up to us. We can fall apart or we can take things in stride.

Not much is up with me at the moment. I have lots of books to read all written by fellow WordPress bloggers. Slowly but surely I am moving through my TBR list. I’m so impressed by the talent writers we have on this platform.

Other than that, I’m still doing my art which has been relaxing and much better for my brain than mindlessly scrolling through social media. At the moment, I’m working on this image of Roger from American Dad. I’ll share it on here when I’m done.

I’ve also been watching some more shows lately although none have been impressive enough for me to share yet. I started watching Furious the other day and so far it’s pretty good. I’ve only seen the first episode though.

That Dolly quote is such a great reminder that we may not control what happens, but we can choose how we respond.

    1. Yes, absolutely. Life becomes much easier when we understand that.

  4. Excellent advice

    1. Yes, absolutely is.

  5. Yes I think that is a good quote. It is impossible to control the world or for the most part what happens to you but you can choose how to react to it and find ways to adjust.

    1. Exactly, the way we react makes a huge difference.

  6. The wind of change is never dead, we are facing forward, and going straight ahead. Adjust the sail, reroute the ship, we are moving closer to the dream, we have a pretty skilful team.
The summer is over, cooler weather has set, mushroom hunting is promising big wins ahead. Leaves are turning, we are ready for learning. The plan is to work before the year is out of stock.

    1. Absolutely, sometimes you just have to reroute but keep moving.
Mushroom hunting sounds very fun, I didn’t know that was a thing.

      1. Big thing in this part of the world

  7. I love the quote. Dolly will be greatly missed.

    1. She absolutely will be. She was incredibly intelligent and so kind too.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

    1. I’m glad the quote resonated and it’s my pleasure! Thanks, have a wonderful week too 😊

      1. My pleasure. Thank you so much! ☺️

  11. This quote is exactly what I needed to hear right now! Thank you for sharing.

    1. I’m glad! Happy to share it. It’s one that really resonates with me too.

  12. The quote is real.

    1. Agreed, it’s one that really resonates with me.

  13. This monday was a minor holiday that I had off from work. so I spent the day watching tv and writing up posts for the future.
but today it is back to the regular schedule 🙂

    1. Glad you had some time to relax on Monday. Hope you have a nice day back at work 🙂

      1. Oh man Pooja, first day back, 10+ hour day. Not cool.

  14. A good quote. Yeah, scrolling social media is something that I’m fighting too.

    1. Yeah, social media is addictive but really bad for our brain. Hope we’re both able to scroll less.

      1. We will. You will be most able. You have a number of things you love and are good at.

        1. Thanks, that’s nice. I think you have a lot going on right now too so a social media break may not be very difficult for you too.

  15. Those are wise words from Dolly Parton, and one we should live by. I agree with you about scrolling social media. It’s become a waste of my time, and I need to focus more on things that are more constructive. 💗

    1. She was definitely a wise person. Social media is so addictive but awful for our brain. It’s also become so hateful and extreme these days. We would rather do something we enjoy instead. 💗

      1. I think political views have taken over social media, and since I don’t like politics, it’s time to move on.

  16. A very practical and well grounded quote.

    1. Yes, it’s one of my favourites by her.

      1. She was that sort of person.

  17. Nice one P.J Gudka and I can relate to this blog post. Life is a strange thing and I agree we have no control over what happens to us. I am taking a break from social media this month, I will be offline to focus on my own life, its quite a lot I have to do man

    1. Yeah, we have no control over what happens but we can control our reactions and that’s what matters most.
I’m glad you’re taking time off social media. It can really derail us from things that are actually important.

  18. Loved the quote. We choose how we react in every situation. But also, we choose the direction of our lives, no matter how the winds blow.

    1. That’s so true, it’s all about how we choose to reach and redirect our lives when things don’t go our way.

  19. Something I remind myself every day!

  20. One of the few who did something good with her money!

  21. Really beautiful quote! I like how you explained it in your words.
This is exactly what I’m doing — avoiding unnecessary posts, videos and thinking loop — to allow enough peace and focus for myself. I don’t care what happens online; not as much as I used to previously.
The time I spend offline keeps me stable, mindful and happy. Yes! Drawing is another way to improve your focus. It is engaging.

I realise, most of us either focus too much on what happened (and how we could have corrected it) or we easily get lost in what we want the next (4 best plans for a single doable task).
To be present mentally, emotionally, physically (feeling connected to the body) and spiritually, with the right order and balance, in the present, is what we are missing (at least me).

When I do something correctly and properly it gives me lots of happiness and satisfaction.

    1. Glad you liked the quote and the post! Yes, avoiding living our lives online is important. It’s okay to be on the internet some times but we also need to leave time to do things offline. Being present is important.

  22. Great Dolly Parton quote, Pooja!

  23. I love the Dolly quote. She was such an amazing human. Thank you for sharing.
