Inspiration For The Day

Inspiration For The Day:

P. J. Gudka Quote, All The Words I Kept Inside | Inspiration For The Day

What’s Up With Pooj?

Generally, I share a quote by someone that I find inspiring. This week, I decided to share one of my favourite poems to write for my book, All The Words I Kept Inside. Mostly because I’m a giant narcissist that loves the attention (I’m kidding… partially) and slightly because this was my editors favourite poem from the book. It really resonated with her and hope it will resonate with you as well.

We all have scars and wounds from our past, we all have trauma. But our scars are often not just a reminder of what we have been through but rather of how incredibly resilient we are. How we look at things matters and I think choosing to look at our scars in this way is more beneficial than feeling sorry for ourselves all our lives.

This week’s song is one that I listened to a lot when I was growing up. Yes, I went through an emo phase, okay? Anyway, as soon as I saw this poem, the song just started playing in my head and I thought perfect!

  7. I loved this poem too.. many times we do need to change our perspective on things. It’s so much healthy to have a positive mindset in all situations. This week I’ve been listening to Teddy Swim’s Lose Control. It’s been stuck in my head for some reason. 🙏

    1. Absolutely agree, when we change our mindset we change our lives. It’s okay to feel negative emotions but we can’t let them consume us. Interesting, I haven’t heard that song before.

  8. what a lovely thought for the day!

    1. Thanks so much!

  9. Love this!!

    1. Thank you!

  10. I think almost all teenagers go through some sort of emo-phase. With all those new hormones blasting through them, it’s almost impossible that they don’t 😀

And I fully concur. How you view things shows whether you’ve moved on and are healing or are still stuck in the past. Sadly, too many people choose to never let their misery heal so they can have an “excuse” for whatever 🙁

    1. True, it’s the mix of hormones and the school environment. It gets so crazy.

Absolutely, it’s okay to feel negative emotions but you can’t let them consume you because then you’ll be stuck in a victim mindset.

  11. Nice one Pooj!! Wear the scars with pride!

    1. Thanks and yes absolutely!

  16. most inspiring, Pooja…🤍🌷

    1. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  18. We all have struggles. Ride the waves.

    1. Exactly, I think that’s the healthiest way to look at it.

  19. It’s a good work and good work. Unfortunately, I have scars abounding, though they are reminders (when I’m reminded) that they represent healing.

    1. Thank you. Sorry to hear that but yes you’ve come a long way and even if they haven’t fully healed you’ll get there eventually.

  20. Thoughtful reflections, Pooja. Easy to understand why the quote you shared is one of your editor’s favorites. ✨

  23. Pooja, beautiful poem. I can see why it was a fav of your editor 😎

What am I listening to… hmm… there’s a miniseries I just finished, “The crowded room.”
Very well done, a bit heavy in places, but at a pivotal moment they play “Let it Be” by the Beatles. Beautiful sentiment and a transcendent arrangement. Too bad they broke up after this, who knows what else the could have come up with…

    1. Thank you so much 😊

That sounds like an interesting miniseries. I’ll check it out. And absolutely love that song, one of my favourites by The Beatles.

  24. The scars are something unique to a person. We all have them. I have scars on my hands from nitrogen wort removal. Something to remind me of my teen years.
This week I have a few things going on: concert tomorrow and art class on the weekend. I’m excited about these two.

    1. Yes, very much so. Oh nice, sounds like you’ll have a fun week.

      1. Fingers crossed

  25. Lovely poem, and a banger track! One of my faves – I was picturing the clip while reading it before I saw the video embed 😅

    1. Thank you! Haha I guess we both thought of the same song 😅

  26. Wounds may heal but the scars always remain.

    1. Yes, that’s very true.

  27. A powerful and poignant poem.

I spent the day getting the AC fixed on my car again. I am hoping it will last through our next week of heat wave (mid 30s C).

We have an airshow in town this weekend. I have friends that are attending who are coming to stay with me. I have to set aside my hermit ways for a couple days, so a bit of mixed feelings about that, lol.

    1. Thanks so much.

Wow, that is really hot weather. Hope the AC works well now.

Haha as an introvert I understand but I’m sure you’ll end up having a fun time.

  28. Loved the quote!

It’s a funny coincidence that my favorite blogger have same quote in her book.

    Who is copying who

    1. Thank you so much! Haha we may be copying one another 😅

      1. I don’t know!!

it can get legal if you keep doing it.

The book seems like a fire.

        I wish it was thicker.

        Like 200 pages

        1. My next one will be longer, more than 20 pages 😊

I like that it turned what many people view as shame to something they can be proud of.
