No, this is not a test post so rest assured it will be in a language I know. Most like English. Oder Deutsch…
You may have noticed a test post on my site published a few hours ago. Well, I am here to tell you my side of the story about that. After days of waiting for WordPress to get back to me about the email issue, I finally snapped and emailed them for an update. Luckily they responded quickly and told me how to fix part of the issue. The problem of my followers no longer receiving email notifications when I publish a post is still being fixed. I’m pretty sure they had forgotten about me till I emailed them for an update which old Pooja would be pissed at but new zen Pooja finds quite amusing (waiting till the gummy wears off and old Pooja is back).
Anyway, I assumed they would somehow check the email issue without disrupting my site. But it’s WordPress and one can’t expect that from them. So in proper WordPress fashion, a test post was sent out to my followers without my knowledge, consent or even a friendly heads up. But since I am an optimistic pessimist now, I will just be grateful that they are at least attempting to solve the issue. Hopefully, in a few years this issue will be solved! *insert clown emoji here*
But Seriously…
On a serious note, shoutout to the people at WordPress just trying to do their job while this salty zillennial projects her anger on them. It’s not their fault that WordPress is doing whatever they can to get as much profit as possible. Even when it means sacrificing their quality. The Happiness Engineers seem severely understaffed, especially compared to a few years ago when you could instantly chat to someone and fix the issue. And I am guessing they’re underpaid too.
Let’s hope WordPress realises that they need to put their customers first (probably won’t) because so many of my favourite bloggers have already left this platform due to WordPress’s inadequate service. And it would break my heart to see more go. Instead of wasting time making useless changes to a platform that was fine, they need to put that money and effort towards improving their customer care. And for the love of all that is blogging hire more Happiness Engineers! So it doesn’t take weeks to solve issues that could be solved in a day. Or less. Geez. I can’t believe a historian has to give people business advice. What is the world coming to.

And shoutout to Aeryn Beining for doing a blog shoutout for Lifesfinewhine. People don’t get why blogging means so much to us bloggers but honestly the people on this platform are so kind. I was having a rough time with everything going a bit sideways in my life at the moment but this made my day- so thank you, Aeryn.
