Okay, I know I’ve been a little out of the loop this week. I’ve been trying to share pre-written and scheduled posts because I didn’t have a lot of time to come up with new content. The reason I’ve been busy is something I mentioned earlier. I’ve been interviewing bloggers for my podcast. I got such a great response and so many of you filled out the form or emailed me to ask me to be a part of the podcast. So, yeah I’ll be pretty busy this month with that. This week, I began interviewing people and the first person I interviewed was Jyl Barlow. And today, I wanted to share my blogger interview with Jyl.
This was not her first podcast interview and I appreciated how good she was at it. It was my first time so I was a little nervous but she was so sweet and easy to talk to. Which made it a lot easier for me.

Blogger Interview With Jyl
We talked about lots of things on the podcast including writing, publishing, music, things that make us ugly cry, blogging, parenting and more. It’s honestly such a fun interview so be sure to check it out. You can watch it on my YouTube channel:
Or you can check it out on Spotify:

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. Lol same, I’m still half asleep in the morning so nighttime works best for me.
Right? I was shocked too, I think due to self publishing more and more people are getting their books out there.
It’s very similar to an agent. She basically helps me with everything but I still self publish so we don’t share the profit rather I pay her a one time fee.
Thanks, the next interview will be out on Monday and I’ll share more about my publishing experience etc tonight/day 😊
I get a litttle excited when I hear different accents… and omg! Pooja talking, is like listening to background music with rhyme and melody and Jyl voice is simply so full of life.. if she were a line on a heart monitor, it would be doing somersaults 😂😂… that’s clearly the Grey’s Anatomy side of me talking (have been binge watching the show for over a few months now), can’t think much over it of late 😅
Lovely Pooja!
Thanks so much, haha yeah a lot of people tell me I have a soothing voice. Jyl was such a perfect first guest! I used to be obsessed with Grey’s and went through that phase so I understand 😅
Well done, Pooja G. I think I submitted my request as well. This was a great debut podcast with Jyl Barlow. Was only able to listen on Spotify, which is great as I listen to Spotify on my walks. The YouTube link didn’t work for some reason.
Great stuff.. am excited for this project of yours. 👏👏👏
Thanks so much for listening to it and I hope I responded to your request. If I didn’t let me know. I may have missed something cos I got quite a few requests that day. Thanks ☺️
I’ll check my emails and confirm. I’ll check again to see if the YouTube link is working. The problem may have been on my end. It was a good episode, and you’ll only get better. You did really really well 👏👏
I am very glad to see you move ahead with this project. I’ll be checking out Jyl’s blog for sure. I hope the rest of them go as smoothly as this one appears to have 😀
I don’t listen to podcasts because I’m usually writing or reading, but I did tune into this one for a few minutes. It was great to hear your voice, Pooja. All the best to you.
I enjoyed the interview! You should reposition the camera to get it closer to you, I think.
I would like to do an interview with you but I don’t want to share it publicly. When I was 27 I was on TV live interviewed about English teaching, it was so much fun and I was comfortable in the studio and on air. Now I’m not so confident which makes no sense to be honest. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more of those interviews with other folks.
Since you mentioned English teaching, that little part caught my interest. I am an English teacher/educator/trainer myself, and I also help students with the IELTS examination. It would be great to get to know you more… since we have something in common. Hope to hear from you…
Sounds good! are you working remotely?
I am actually looking to leave education after 16 years of putting my blood, sweat and tears into it. or maybe go into college teaching, not sure yet… i am open to suggestions
If teaching is a passion more than a profession, you could always go into training or simply have it as a sidekick with home tutoring while you take up something more exciting or engaging. I work directly face to face with students, remotely never really works with me… there isn’t a personal feel to it
