Blogger Interview With Jyl

Blogger Interview With Rita
Okay, I know I’ve been a little out of the loop this week. I’ve been trying to share pre-written and scheduled posts because I didn’t have a lot of time to come up with new content. The reason I’ve been busy is something I mentioned earlier. I’ve been interviewing bloggers for my podcast. I got such a great response and so many of you filled out the form or emailed me to ask me to be a part of the podcast. So, yeah I’ll be pretty busy this month with that. This week, I began interviewing people and the first person I interviewed was Jyl Barlow. And today, I wanted to share my blogger interview with Jyl. This was not her first podcast interview and I appreciated how good she was at it. It was my first time so I was a little nervous but she was so sweet and easy to talk to. Which made it a lot easier for me.

  1. This video isn’t available anymore

    1. I can see the video

I think it’s an error from Wp
      Or due to internet connection.

You can find the video on her YT channel directly.

      1. I should restart since our area had two short power outages. Again, thank you and have a great night.

        1. Yes ma’am

Sometimes it’s due to internet connection

          You have a peaceful night

Here it is early morning 🙂

    2. Try viewing the video on my site instead of the Reader, that may fix the issue.

  2. Great share!

    Best wishes 🙏🏻

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

  3. Great Podcast!
    Thanks for sharing Pooja.
    Congratulations, Jyl!
    💓

    1. Thank you so much, do check out Jyl’s site too! 😊

  4. Pooja, how very cool! Loved the format and the interview. Happy to learn you’re a night writer as well…mornings and me have never been friends ☕️ ☕️☕️

Jotted down some interesting stuff… wow, 8 books published every minute? Eee yiiii!!

You mentioned a publishing manager… is that similar to an agent? Also, the contests part was interesting, gotta look into that for fun.

    Weird Al 😂🤣

Great job, looking forward to more interviews! 👏😎

    1. Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. Lol same, I’m still half asleep in the morning so nighttime works best for me.

Right? I was shocked too, I think due to self publishing more and more people are getting their books out there.

It’s very similar to an agent. She basically helps me with everything but I still self publish so we don’t share the profit rather I pay her a one time fee.

Thanks, the next interview will be out on Monday and I’ll share more about my publishing experience etc tonight/day 😊

  5. I get a litttle excited when I hear different accents… and omg! Pooja talking, is like listening to background music with rhyme and melody and Jyl voice is simply so full of life.. if she were a line on a heart monitor, it would be doing somersaults 😂😂… that’s clearly the Grey’s Anatomy side of me talking (have been binge watching the show for over a few months now), can’t think much over it of late 😅
    Lovely Pooja!

    1. Thanks so much, haha yeah a lot of people tell me I have a soothing voice. Jyl was such a perfect first guest! I used to be obsessed with Grey’s and went through that phase so I understand 😅

  6. Is your podcast on Spotify, or just YouTube? I have been gone for a while, so I am playing catchup. How have you been?

    1. Yes, it’s on both Spotify and YouTube, you can find the links on the post. It’s nice to see you back here, you were missed.

      1. Thanks, I missed you all too. It is so good to be back.

  7. Well done, Pooja G. I think I submitted my request as well. This was a great debut podcast with Jyl Barlow. Was only able to listen on Spotify, which is great as I listen to Spotify on my walks. The YouTube link didn’t work for some reason.
Great stuff.. am excited for this project of yours. 👏👏👏

    1. Thanks so much for listening to it and I hope I responded to your request. If I didn’t let me know. I may have missed something cos I got quite a few requests that day. Thanks ☺️

      1. I’ll check my emails and confirm. I’ll check again to see if the YouTube link is working. The problem may have been on my end. It was a good episode, and you’ll only get better. You did really really well 👏👏

        1. Yeah, the YT link is working for me so it may either be an issue with the Reader or your internet. Thanks so much 😊

          1. Thank Pooja. Turns out that email is still in my drafts. Will update when I get home and send it through. 🙏

            1. Oh no problem, take as much time as you need 😊

  8. Great share and congrats.

    1. Thank you so much.

  9. I am very glad to see you move ahead with this project. I’ll be checking out Jyl’s blog for sure. I hope the rest of them go as smoothly as this one appears to have 😀

    1. Thanks so much, this one was great and so far they’ve all gone very smoothly. The next one will be out on Monday 😊

  10. Really enjoyed this Pooja thanks!

    1. Thanks so much!

  11. What a wonderful interview, Pooja. It’s exciting to hear voices. I really enjoyed this.

    1. Thank you so much, yeah it’s fun to hear instead of read sometimes 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  12. It was so good, your are so chilly and comfortable to talk too. Jyl is so engaging and keeps the convo going on… best wishes on your podcast

    1. Thanks so much, I’m so glad it came off that way because I was actually pretty nervous. Jyl was wonderful, so easy to talk to.

  13. This is lovely great podcast and you seem multi talented person 😁😎😁 loved it

    1. Thank you so much ☺️

  14. 🙂 🙂

  15. I don’t listen to podcasts because I’m usually writing or reading, but I did tune into this one for a few minutes. It was great to hear your voice, Pooja. All the best to you.

    1. I really appreciate you listening to mine and thanks so much.

  16. channeling indian demi moore. oo la la!

    1. Lol yayyy I love her.

  17. I enjoyed the interview! You should reposition the camera to get it closer to you, I think.
I would like to do an interview with you but I don’t want to share it publicly. When I was 27 I was on TV live interviewed about English teaching, it was so much fun and I was comfortable in the studio and on air. Now I’m not so confident which makes no sense to be honest. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more of those interviews with other folks.

    1. Since you mentioned English teaching, that little part caught my interest. I am an English teacher/educator/trainer myself, and I also help students with the IELTS examination. It would be great to get to know you more… since we have something in common. Hope to hear from you…

      1. Sounds good! are you working remotely?
I am actually looking to leave education after 16 years of putting my blood, sweat and tears into it. or maybe go into college teaching, not sure yet… i am open to suggestions

    2. Thank you! I’ll try that with the next interview. We can do an audio interview if you’re not comfortable with being on camera?

      1. camera is okay, my accent is sometimes a burden i have to carry lol

        1. Oh don’t worry about that, we have all sorts of accents on here.

          1. It’s reassuring

  18. If teaching is a passion more than a profession, you could always go into training or simply have it as a sidekick with home tutoring while you take up something more exciting or engaging. I work directly face to face with students, remotely never really works with me… there isn’t a personal feel to it

  19. Loved the interview. You were so composed for your first interview!

    1. Thank you so much! I was nervous on the inside lol 😅

      1. You wouldn’t know it! Congratulations. 🙂

        1. Thanks so much 🙂

    1. Thank you.

  20. Congratulations on your podcast! Great job!

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. My pleasure!

  21. Great podcast! Looking forward to other ones to come 🙂

    1. Thank you so much 🙂

  22. Congrats, Pooja…it went so well ..from both you and Jyl.
where you say nervous, we see… aaaw, it’s Pooja😋🤗

the voice recorder sounds a nice idea with the rush for time at times .

    thanks for sharing 🤍

    1. Thank you so much, aw that’s so sweet of you to say 😊

      1. pleasure always 🤍🤗

  23. I am going to watch it, not today !! I am so busy. But good job !!! 🙏✅

    1. I appreciate it, thank you! 🙏

      1. You’re welcome !!🙏
