Quote Of The Day

Oscar Auliq-Ice Quote:

Oscar Auliq-Ice Quote

What’s Up With Me?

Where do I start? So, I think I was too excited about my second book and hitting 30k words because I am having the worst writers block for the last week or so. I am struggling to write so I’ve decided to take a break for a bit. Writers block won’t last forever (*knocks on wood like a maniac*) so I’ll just wait until I feel inspired to write again. It’s so bad I’m struggling to write this post even though I have so much to say. Send some good vibes my way people, I need them.

As for the Oscar Auliq-Ice quote, I absolutely love it. For me, it’s all about my writing. That’s how I want to be remembered and that’s how I want to leave my mark in this world. I may not be able to speak everything going through my mind but I sure can write it. Obviously not right now with the writers block but you get what I mean. That’s why I’m so excited about my first book, I feel like this is the start for me. It’s the start of my journey as a writer.

  1. A good quote, and our brains can think a lot faster than we can write. Bummer…

    1. Thanks so much and yeah I definitely have that problem.

  2. I want to be remembered for my words too so I get it. Congratulations on your book!

    1. Thanks so much!

  3. I find the quote quite sobering. It makes me want to choose my words carefully.
This week has been busy for me. My real estate for sale sign is up, so I have been packing away clutter and cleaning to get ready for showings.

Pooja! Pooja! Pooja! You can do it! You can break that writer’s block! That is me cheering you on. 🙂

Seriously though, make sure you take some personal time to help with the stress. Sometimes when we stop to relax it helps the creativity flow. I find my creative brain turns on just as I am falling asleep sometimes. Good luck with your writing.

    1. Thanks so much, I think we should definitely be careful with our words. Good luck with packing, I feel like packing isn’t too bad. It’s the unpacking that’s annoying.

Thank you! I’m trying to take some time off writing and hopefully that will help.

  4. I doubt my words will last forever!

    1. I hope they do!

  5. A lot of books have been written in history but only a few survived the constant wars and disruptions of ancient times. When the huge depositary of learning was raised to the ground in Alexandra Egypt in the past a huge amount of ancient wisdom was lost forever for example. Much of the cuneiform writings from ancient times still are buried under centuries of accumulated soil waiting to be discovered.

    1. That’s very true, very little writing actually remains longterm.

  6. I love the quote because my words are always taken seriously, and for some reason remembered. I hate it. I would say something in jest when I was in a bad mood, tired and hungry and years later some one will still remember them as god’s truth. It’s annoying as hell, if you know me you know how hard it is for me to shut up. Well, this is why I have this blog and it’s working for me really well.

This week I am finishing the school year, giving final tests and going to graduation.

I’m listening to my heart and sending you good vibes, you can do it, Pooja

    1. Thanks so much. That’s annoying, I don’t mind when my words are taken seriously but I joke a lot and when people take that seriously I hate it. My relatives remember all the dumb stuff I say too. So I can relate.

Blogging is definitely good, you can ramble and people won’t hold it against you.

      1. Most of the time. I had a few episodes writing about things in general, voicing ideas and people took that personally. And they keep taking it personally, I guess it’s just how they are

        1. Some people are just like that, they take things very personally and are easily offended.

  7. that’s the thing isn’t…what will your final words be…think about the final thing you said to a loved one or someone special…or the final words they said to you…..you’ll never know when that’ll be….crossing the street, struck by lightening tripping on a curb, what was that last word?

    1. That’s so true, that’s why we should be extra careful with our words.

  8. Congratulations on book success.

    Best wishes

    1. Thank you so much.

  9. I think it is a bit of exaggeration, well unless it is written words. A published book or an article can probably last for a very long time, maybe forever. But if it is spoken words just among family or friends then no one will remember in a hundred years. Good luck with your book.

    1. That’s very true but I think the person I quoted is a writer and so meant it in that context. Thank you so much, I really appreciate that.

  10. Good vibes to you 🙂

    1. Thanks so much 🙂

  11. I don’t know if you have ever read ‘On Writing’ by Stephen King, Pooja, but he recommends to write, even when you can’t, because it is very easy to get into the habit of not writing. You can always edit/discard it later, but just KEEP WRITING! If you haven’t read his book, I strongly recommend it. 💕📚

    1. That’s good advice, I haven’t read it but of course Stephen King knows what he’s talking about. Will definitely check the book out, thank you! ☺️

      1. My pleasure. 🤗

  12. Love this! Very well-written and interesting to read. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂

  13. Yes I agree with this quote 💯 %. I hope you can overcome the writer’s block. The best way is to relax and give writing a break.

    1. Thanks so much, yes I took a few days off and am focusing on different projects for now 😊

      1. You’re most welcome

  14. Love this quote, and it’s new to me. Thanks for that. About the block, try writing something else, anything else and see if that helps. Good luck!

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the quote. I’m doing just that and focusing on another writing project which is actually helping!

  15. This is why I try to schedule my stuff. When I feel like writing I can pump them out, because yeah, we all have days/weeks we just don’t feel like writing 😀

    1. That’s so true. I generally try to schedule some stuff ahead of time too but since my quote posts have a bit about what currently happening with me they need to be written on that day. But today I’m posting something I’ve had in my drafts for ages 😅

  16. You’re doing great. Sometimes the imagination just needs a little jump start. Writers are immortal… That’s my biased thought on the quote. 😎😎 Blessings, PoojaG. 👏👏

    1. Thanks so much, haha agree with your thoughts about the quote 😊

  17. a beautiful and meaningful quote shared.
    go easy on yourself…💫🤍

    1. Thanks so much 💕

      1. most welcome 🤍

      1. boom ! like that. wednesday morning 3am. sad song. hear it and sing it. oof!

  19. becoming gupta aint ez lady

    1. No it ain’t.

      1. is it . see yourself. and put bs to the shelf. hoot!

  20. Love the quote! Hoping and praying that the writer’s block lifts!

    1. Thank you so much!

  21. Writers’ block can indeed be so hard to deal with, especially if you’re writing for a profession. Give yourself some time to celebrate your accomplishment, though! I know that imposter syndrome can have us feeling like we can’t repeat previous victories, but you’ve been doing this for a long time. The words will come.

    1. Yes, it’s been difficult but I’m trying to just take it easy for now. Thanks, I celebrated this weekend which was fun 😊

  22. 30k words is… wow. Haha! I could probably write 30,000 characters if I really tried.

    1. 40k more to go and I’ll be done lol! I majored in history so I wrote really long papers for that and am used to writing 15-20k words but 30k is a personal best for me.

  23. I’m not familiar with the quoter but what an intriguing name. The quote is apt but also daunting. It’s like saying all our dreams should come true except that some of our dreams are rather awful. Well, more importantly, good vibes, good vibes, good vibes. Though I’d also keeping knocking on wood (one of my favorite gestures, so much so a student made a polished block for me so that I could always have wood available to knock on). I’m sorry about your writer’s block (pardon the pun), and it will go away. You’ll find your focus and in the mean time could write anything, if you want. Maybe have a pleasant meal with relatives and-or friends. Such meals seem to inspire you. Hang on.

    1. He’s a writer and philanthropist from what I know. That’s very true. Thanks so much, I appreciate that. Haha yes, I do that too and always have to knock on wood when I say something like that. I’m sure the writers block will go away, it rarely stays. Thanks so much.

  24. Love the quote and feel spoken words, as well as written words will live forever. Kick the writer’s block in the butt, Pooja! You can do this! Hugs!

    1. Thanks so much, I’m sure the writers block will be gone in a few days!

  25. That’s exciting about the new book being released, good luck with everything. Hope your writer’s block resolves soon!

    1. Thank you so much!

  26. Hey Pooja. Sorry about the writers block. I suggest using chat gpt to get helpful ideas and ignite your creativity 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, I’ll definitely keep that in mind. 🙂

  27. Love the quote and I believe it! It was stagnant and then the wind came bringing an unexpected maybe/possible new adventure. So, my fingers and toes are crossed, so I don’t jinx anything (lol). You never know what to expect when you’re not expecting to expect anything! hahaha … enjoy your breather!

    1. Thank you so much! So true, the best things come when you least expect it!

  28. It’s okay to feel uninspired or unmotivated because that’s how our bodies cry for rest. Lol 😂 my words though! I too wanna leave a mark too especially with Expressing myself fully and bring new perspectives and ideas that might help bring some changes. Be proud of what you do Pooja self publishing isn’t easy plus you have other books coming just know even when you feel like it’s less just know it’s so big to others. Just take it slow don’t rush or force it and the writers block will dissolve, warm wishes

    1. Thanks, I think so too. I’m taking some time off from the book and working on other projects. I think many writers feel that way, we want our words to leave a mark.

  29. Great quote.

    1. Thank you so much.

      1. You are welcome.

  30. The quote is powerful. It makes me reflect on when I am no longer here, everything I’ve said and written will be remembered.

Last week I took vacation – I really needed it. I felt super refreshed coming back out to work. Can’t wait for you to finish your book though. I am excited to read it!

      1. Thank you, I’ll check it out tomorrow.

        1. Thanks, I really appreciate it.

  31. Let’s use and speak words that are constructive and helpful to others!

    1. Yes, absolutely. Words are powerful!

  32. I think Valmiki, Veda Vyasa, and Homer would agree.

    1. I think so too.

  33. Nice ones, thanks.

    1. Thank you so much.

  34. As someone who has experienced “writer’s block” with no small amount of frequency, I assure you that “this, too, shall pass.”

    I like the quote.

Oddly enough, when I promised my mom (and myself, too) that someday I’d be a writer, I also thought that my chosen craft would outlive me and give me a sort of immortality.

    1. Thanks so much, yeah I know the writer’s block will be gone soon.

That’s great, for me as well. I like the idea of my writing outliving me.

  35. I like the quote. In addition to your thoughts on it, I think it’s a good reminder that what we say matters, and once said, there’s no taking it back. Sending good vibes to get the writers’ block out of your system!

As for me, it is a really busy week, so I have not done my daily posts for the past two days, due to a lot of volunteer commitments relating to biking events that are coming up this month.

    1. Absolutely, our words hold a lot of weight and we need to be careful with them. Thanks so much, the writer’s block has gotten better recently.

Oh I see, yeah that sounds busy but great too.

It seems natural that after manifesting an important dream, you’d need a little reflection space, let the reality sink in that you’ve accomplished a big goal!

    1. Yes, I think that’s it. I’m taking a short break from the book and hopefully I’ll be back to writing soon!

  38. Good vibes to you, Pooj.
Writing does give purpose, and I know the purpose will wash away your writers block soon.
I’m writing mostly fiction for pleasure but my future plans include writing on deeply impactful topics in the world and community I’m in.
A few schools are beginning to take my books here so it’s a step in the right direction.
I pray for you whenever I can, my friend and editor, and supporter.
You deserve all the success that has and will come to you.❤️‍🔥

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, I think I just needed a bit of a break because I’ve been more busy than usual lately.

That’s so wonderful, wishing you the best with your writing. If anyone can succeed, it’s you.

      Thank you 😊

      1. Thanks for the vote of confidence. It means a lot.🥹🙏🏾

        1. You’re most welcome 😊

  39. They’re not my words. i borrowed every one of them. I just rearrange them.

    1. I think it’s like that for us all.

  40. Sorry about the writer’s block. I hope it passes soon!

I like this quote and it’s one of the ideas that has pushed me toward blogging / writing / etc. One of my oldest friends passed away last December, but his Facebook page is still up. It’s weird and spooky and great that I can still hear his voice in my head while reading his old posts and comments, when they pop up in my “memories.” Writing is like leaving behind an echo.

    1. Thanks, it’s much better now. I’m sorry for the loss of your friend and I think it makes a difference to know your words will live on even after you’re gone.

      1. You’re welcome! I’m glad your writer’s block has lifted. It’s frustrating when that happens.

Thanks, re: my friend. It was a big shock, for sure.
