Blogger Interview With Vanya

Blogger Interview With Rita

Today, I wanted to share my blogger interview with Vanya. But before we get into the interview and post for today, I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m not conducting any more interviews at the moment. Interviews should resume within a few weeks though and if you are interested in being interviewed please be on the lookout. I’ll let everyone know when interviews resume.

Her blog is Vanya Wryter Consulting Services and as you may have guessed, she’s a writer and offers multiple writing services on her blog. We first got to know one another through blogging. And we began reading each other’s posts and commenting on each other’s content. It was lovely to get to read more of her content and I very much enjoyed it. So it was cool to meet the person behind the writing.

We talk about a lot of things in this interview including about writing, freelancing, our journey towards our dreams and much more. I really hope you decide to check out the interview either on YouTube or on Spotify.

    1. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the interview. Absolutely, societal norms just hold us back and keep us in a box. As someone who doesn’t plan to get married or have kids, I always say do what makes you happy. Don’t care about what others tell you. Yes, apparently some politicians think you should have less rights if you don’t have kids or aren’t married. They only use religion when it helps them, otherwise they don’t care. Hypocrites is what they are.
Never slow down and keep smiling!

      1. Thanks You Too

  6. You know what I am finding I enjoy the most out of these interviews? You are turning a “name” into a real person. We all know other bloggers are real people, behind their screens, but there are times we don’t necessarily act towards them like they are. So these interviews make it crystal clear that they are people. And that is a good reminder for me. So thank you for doing these….

    1. I totally get what you mean, it’s always nice to remember that there are real people here behind their screen. When we don’t see that we sometimes to think about it consciously but these interviews are a good reminder. It’s really been a pleasure to talk to so many bloggers in person.

      1. You’re welcome Pooja G. 🙏

  13. It’s so interesting to hear other writers, their lives and thoughts and what makes them click. Writing is hard. Good luck Vanya.

  19. I enjoy Vanya’s posts and visits to my site. I look forward to listening soon. Thank you, Pooja. 🎙️

    1. She’s lovely and hope you enjoy the interview. Thanks so much 😊

      1. 🙏🏻😊

  20. Yeah, sort of. There is an important clash, now, between introverts and extroverts w/r/t “public” discourse. Sparked by Elaine Aron’s book, and Susan Cain’s.
    I’m not sure it’s a positive outcome.
I like face-to-face discourse/combat, etc. and so on. Killing or liking/loving from a distance does not “float my boat”.
I like the real world – that of sight, sound, touch. 🙂 cheers

    1. Yes, I think that clash has been happening for a while but has grown. I don’t see a positive outcome from it. I think we need to respect one another as we are, we’re all different and that’s okay. That’s great, sometimes I wish I liked the real world a little more.

  21. love it.. Miss the video portion though.. Did you change that?

    1. Not all my interviewees like to be on video so it’s just audio for some of the interviews!

  22. I loved hearing all the writing tips, this is what I really need to hear. Vanya is a wonderful writer because she is so honest about things, and it feels like she doesn’t mind sharing the bits of wisdom she gained through her own blood, sweat and tears.
I learned that today is women’s equality day, so I loved you two discussing this particular issue. Because sometimes I think it’s just all in my head. I need to hear it more, happy women’s equality day!!!

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, she’s a fantastic writer and person too.
It’s definitely not in your head. Women live in almost a completely different world than men. We have very different experiences.

      1. and expectations

  23. Thanks, Pooja and Vanya! I enjoyed this interview very much. I dabbled in corporate freelance work back in the day, but experienced many of the issues you discussed — not valuing my own work, not knowing how to negotiate, how to handle taxes, etc. In the US, at least, education is geared toward grooming people to be cogs in the corporate machine and entrepreneurship isn’t encouraged (though it’s lauded when it’s visibly successful on a larger scale).

I really appreciated the conclusions you drew about social media instigators and just not engaging. This is a broadly applicable principle of life, I think. There’s no point adding fuel to the fire when people are basically just attention-seeking. You know where you stand.

On that note, as a woman nearing her 60’s who chose not to have children at a time when that concept was being peddled as the only opportunity for fulfillment, I encourage and applaud you both (and all young women worldwide) for questioning that paradigm. Nothing wrong (and everything right) with that choice if that’s what you truly want, but there are many other ways of being. And being female doesn’t determine your fate in any particular direction. You determine it, in whatever direction you wish.

Cheers to you both, and thanks for a great interview!

    1. So glad you enjoyed the interview!

Yes, freelancing is really difficult especially when you first start out. In my experience, that’s how most education is. Even here, it’s really geared toward grooming people to be cogs in the corporate machine. They teach you very little about entrepreneurship or any sort of independent work options.

Agreed, I think when you respond to attention seekers you’re the one losing since you waste time on negativity.

I’m always happy to read about other women that chose to be childfree. I’m almost certain that this is the best choice for myself too but sometimes it’s difficult with certain societal pressures still very much existing.

  24. You are one busy girl with podcasting and writing. How is the marketing going for your new book?

    1. Yes, I’ve been quite busy but I’m happy with that. Marketing is going well, I’ve gotten some great reviews which I’m very grateful for.

  25. Great interview, Pooja, and you are an inspiration with everything you’re accomplishing. ❤️

    1. Thanks so much, that’s very kind of you to say ❤️

  26. This was aa great interview!!!

    1. Thanks so much!

  27. My comment disappeared before, so I hope this doesn’t post two or three times!

This interview felt like relaxing in a living room with friends, easy and wise, especially toward the end. <3

    1. Thanks so much 💕
