Many moons ago, I wrote this post and was asked to write a post about how I manage life with blogging by fellow blogger Devang from FGW. And now, after all this time I’ve finally responded lol. Actually, I had this post sort of ready but forgot about it. A couple of days ago I was going through my MANY drafts and thought I would finally share it. So, after all this time here is how I manage life with blogging and how you can too:
Schedules
When it comes to balancing life, work, and blogging schedules are your best friend. Did you know that you can schedule posts ahead of time on WordPress instead of posting them manually? Some of you that are familiar with the features offered on WordPress may be aware of this but for those of you that are new this may not be something you know about. The scheduling feature comes in handy often for me. There are days when I know I’ll have more work or more stuff going on in my life in general and on those days I like to keep posts scheduled and ready to publish.
Scheduling things in advance saves a lot of time and effort for us bloggers. So on days you’re lounging around wondering what to do with the next few hours, write a post and keep it ready. Future you that’s super busy will be thankful.
Boundaries
Boundaries are an absolute necessity whether it’s with blogging, work, life or people. When it comes to blogging, it’s really important to remember that blogging isn’t real life. And blogging takes up a lot more time and energy than people realise. Only people that blog will know how much effort we put into our blog posts. Even coming up with a topic to share content about is hard work for many.
So, when things get busy and you feel like blogging is starting to feel like a chore it’s okay to take a break. Some days are tough and you don’t need to force yourself to blog if you’re not in the right mood for it or if you don’t have the time for it. You’re human, you deserve breaks. And keep in mind, blogging shouldn’t feel like a chore. Like one more thing you have to do. It should be something enjoyable that you do because you want to.
Research
A little bit of research goes a long way and saves tons of time. For example, I never did my research when I first started blogging and I’m still spending time editing old posts to make them SEO friendly. Had I done the research back then and just shared already SEO friendly posts it would have saved me so much time. Also, learning how to use WordPress’s features early on by doing some research really helps save time too. That way you’re not trying to figure stuff out as you go, instead you know what you’re doing and only need to focus on your content.

What’s Love Got To Do With It?
In the end, the main way I manage life with blogging is simply doing whatever it takes to continue blogging because I love what I do. Blogging is my outlet, my sanctuary and my happy place. I love connecting with people on here, meeting new people and interacting with those I’ve known for ages. It’s something that’s a part of me now. And when you love something, you figure out a way.
Final Thoughts
And that is how I manage life with blogging. Hope those tips were helpful and gave you some options on how you can balance everything out while still blogging consistently. Also remember, it’s okay to take breaks when necessary and blogging doesn’t always come first, our real life does.
