One Sentence Story #5

Forever Mine

One Sentence Story:

In your arms, for the first time in forever, I dare to hope.

As most of you know by now, I am not a romantic and my one stories tend to lean towards darker themes. However, I have been watching the second season of Why Women Kill and ironically I was inspired to write this one sentence story. If you haven’t seen Why Women Kill if you are a fan of murder shows you absolutely need to. I do plan to share a full review of Why Women Kill with you guys. I know the show isn’t particularly popular but I think it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen lately. Sometimes it’s the less popular shows that are actually really good.

I’m not one that believes someone can improve you as a person. I think you need to consciously make a decision to be better yourself. However, I do think some people rub off on you and make you want to be a better person. And make you think that you have a chance in this big crazy world. No, I’m not secretly in love with someone and that’s now why I’m saying this all of a sudden. I highly doubt that’s ever going to happen. As you know, I don’t think writers make very good partners lol.

Do feel free to to leave your own six word story in the comments below. It can be on the same theme or even something completely different. I’m always excited to read what you guys come up with. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  2. Sounds like they both are hopelessly in love. It also seems as if they are meeting again for the first time; reuniting their love again. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks so much and yes that’s what it’s about.

  3. My 6ws: There’s a dog with bad breath.

    1. Haha I really like that SWS.

  4. I featured Pooja in my #FridayFinds! That fits the 6 word theme, right?
Seriously, I love all your posts!

    1. And she very much appreciates it, thank you!

      1. I’m babysitting a dog with an abscessed tooth. Makes his breath when he licks himself just awful.

        1. Oh that sounds awful. Dogs kind of have bad breath anyway and this probably makes it much worse.

          1. Pretty much

  5. I have to say people admire you. I just want you to know that.

    1. Thank you so much, really appreciate that. I really admire many bloggers too. Including you.

  6. Your post are never a disappointment. However, I believe if our environments, good or bad, can inspire us, so can can those people we allow in our bubble lending to our intimate life choices.
    My one sentence story.
“I’ll affirm the existence of miracles in my life once my longing eyes can gaze deeply into yours.”

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, our environment makes a big difference too. Really enjoyed your one sentence story.

  7. Love it 💕.
Deep within, love flows bountifully, we simply need to reach for it.

    1. Thank you so much. Couldn’t agree more 💕

  8. There are always people who motivate you to be better, but the most important thing is yourself because we are the main motivation to be a better person every day. I share your feeling.
    Brotherly greetings.

    1. Absolutely agree. At the end of the day it’s all about us.

  9. An amazing story Pooja🤗… Paints such a lovely image🤍

    1. Thank you so much 🤗💕

  10. Sweet share!!
On what you said… No one can improve you as a person…. I agree, although I feel you yourself are willing to improve, for your special one😊

    1. Thank you so much. I totally agree 😊

  11. Under your arms, it stinks bad!!!
    .
Yes, no one can improve us true. We should not change ourselves, under the influence of others. If someone is trying to change us, then that’s unhealthy.

    1. Lol hilarious!
      .
Yes, absolutely. We should only change if we want to.

  12. Learning from you even in separation.

That’s my six word story, today.
Loving yours and I agree with what you stated:
People can rub off onto each other.

    1. I love your six word story and yes people definitely rub off on each other.

  13. I like your one sentence story. I see it as hope in a reunion. Here’s my one sentence story:

For this vision like a whirlpool in a tea cup where I saw a prophesy of you once, for this, one ripple in the ocean catching my focus, I stare unfocused into a dark sea patch of blue water imagining you in a silver spiral, traveling in my mind through its tunnel, reaching into your mind, seeming to have captured the chosen ripple of the sea where clearly you appear for me, seeming to release a thought to you for the wave to carry, like a tsunami of love, and though only staring, I know that when it arrives, it will drown you for a moment, but you will laugh until a boat can bring you the rest of me.

    1. Thank you and I love your one sentence story too. It’s like a little short story.

    2. It’s cold outside; I look in the river for you, reminiscing about the days we spent together as the sun comes up, it’s so cold and the water is transparent; and at day time, I see you sitting at the bottom of the ocean, my heart breaks but it was nice to see you again.

      1. Deft portrayal of a story with many questions. A tragic mix of emotions to view a body whether at a funeral or lost at sea because reminders decay but memories last and pale in comparison to the living person lost.

        1. To be honest, it was just a quickly done response but also similar version to what you wrote. Yours honestly is more interesting and sophisticated. I could drink expensive aged wine and cheese from a charcuterie with yours.👌

  14. Loved it! And I want to see that review of Why Women Kill – the title alone is quite catchy

    1. Thanks and it’s so good so far!

    1. Thanks and I will definitely check it out.

  15. 6 words: Like the one sentence you wrote

    1. Love that haha.

  16. Your one sentence initially elicited a frown, but the background information brought a huge grin. Thank you, Pooja! For whatever reason, this one sentence bubbled up:

“I correct you because I love you.”

Of course, this sentence is not directed at you; it reminds me of “parental love.”

May you have a wonderful day and week ahead 🙂

    1. Thanks. I kept the little background information part for just that reason lol!

I like that one sentence story. It reminds me of parental love too. They correct you because they want you to be the best you can.

Have a wonderful day and week ahead too 😊

  17. […] lifesfinewine -one-sentence-story-5 by Pooja […]

  18. I look into your eyes and it makes me smile.( more than six words, yet close enough 🙂

    1. Don’t worry it’s a one sentence story post so you’re good. And love the one sentence story, so romantic 🙂

      1. Thanks, Pooja! I’ve been really getting into reading/writing romantic stories lately too 🙂

        1. That’s so nice. Read anything good lately?

          1. At the moment I’m reading Let it Snow which is basically three short romance Christmas themed stories. I’ll let you know of any others once I read them 🙂

            1. I’ve read that when I was in high school. Such a good book and I like how all three stories come together.

  19. Thank you once again for writing an article that gets us thinking, I stated following you recently just because everything you write gets me thinking

    1. Thanks, I’m glad my writing makes you think. As a writer that’s really one of my main goals.

      1. You are accomplishing your goals extremely well

  20. OWS: “It’s a long way to fall downstairs, so I hope you remember me when you go.”

Anyway, I think people can rub off on you, but I think it’s mostly due to wanting to change to be better for them.

    1. Dang, I meant as you go. Whatever.😂

      1. Lol I assumed that, this is why we need an edit option 😂

        1. I know right. Wonder how many decades it’ll take for that to happen with WordPress.😒

          1. Hopefully never but who knows 😞

    2. Very sinister OWS.

      Yes, I so agree.

  21. A writer’s love can be fictional.

  22. Yeah … I thought the romantic themed sentence was strange for you, but I’m glad you crossed over, even if it’s just one post. Haha. Sweet. 🙂

    1. Haha thank you 🙂

  23. “As the weight of her sleeping head causes his arm to fall asleep, he reflects upon the fact that this moment will never be repeated.”

    1. It started out romantic but now I’m sad. Loved it though!

      1. Thank you! I really loved your story, too. (I probably should have said that in my last post but I was in too big a hurry blurting out my reply.)

That moment of hope over something new, or that feeling of coming home after a long time away, is good. That of course led my contrarian brain down the mental path of “for the last time in your arms” and what that feels like and what the circumstances are.

        1. Thanks as well!

          1. You’re welcome!

  24. Love this post. And thank you for the series suggestion. 🙏

    1. Thank you so much 😊

  25. My 6 word story: Life is always on my side 🙂

    1. Love that six word story, so uplifting.

  26. Soooo romantic.
    Lovely ❤️

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  27. My six word story for today is ‘let me find a good job’

    1. I’m sure one is right around the corner.

      1. Me too. I just have to find it

  28. I agree with you. I used to be a romantic until I got married 😆 but im doing well-ish in my marriage now. It’s a lot of hard work. I hope one day you find a compatible partner, if that’s what you want.

    1. Thanks so much. Lol nothing like getting married to disillusion you. Just kidding. I think we sometimes think marriage is all good but like everything else it has its ups and downs.

      1. Yeah, especially with movies and novels. I now roll my eyes at some novels that go with the cheesy romantic idea of marriage and look for ones that deal with childhood trauma, mental health and other things.

        1. Yeah the media is not very realistic about its portrayal of marriage.

  29. Hope that you have washed under your armpits, but alas, this was the first and last time in forever I was in your arms.

    1. Lol was it because of the not washing thing.

      1. Unfortunately yes 😂
