Clutter Begone By Franci Eugenia Hoffman Review

About The Author:

A gander at me –

I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry, and encouraging others to pursue their goals.

My writing and creative endeavors can be found at my WordPress blog, Moonwashed Musings, where I have gathered a following of kindred souls who share my passion for writing.

About The Book

A tangle of poems written to toss out what clutters my mind. You know, those little annoyances that have followed you around too long. I feel it’s time to unburden myself from my own personal clutter, and I find penning my thoughts defines those awkward feelings.

I am sure many of you know Franci Eugenia Hoffman aka Eugi from the wonderful blog Moonwashed Musings. She is such an active and wonderful part of this community, always leaving positive and encouraging comments on so many of our blogs. When she announced that she was publishing a poetry collection, I ran not walked (metaphorically of course) to get it. I have enjoyed her poetry from when we first followed one another and I was excited to be able to read more from her. She truly has a way with words and I am sure anyone that is familiar with her writing will second that.

Now, let’s get into the book itself. To begin with it is an amazing poetry collection and shares the writers experiences, thoughts and feelings. It sheds light on the ups and downs of life and I ended up finding so many poems relatable in my own way. My favourite poem in the collection was “Whataboutery” which calls those that choose to blame everyone but themselves. That is exactly what I have been dealing with for the last few months with someone in my life and that poem really said exactly what I’ve been wanting to.

I think the title “Clutter Begone” makes a lot of sense for the book because as we read through the poems we understand that the writer is trying to process a lot of things and free herself from the burden of carrying them around. And by the end of the book, the reader feels unburdened in their own way.

Overall, the book itself is so well written and very easy to enjoy. The poems are thought provoking, poignant and very raw in some instances. Since the book isn’t very long, it’s easy to finish in one sitting which I am so appreciative of. I’ve not had too much free time but still want to read so shorter books really help with that.

Final Thoughts

I want to conclude by saying that I really loved reading Clutter Begone and would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys poetry and/or is looking for something new to read but prefers for the book to not be too long. And even if you don’t love poetry, do give this book a chance. I feel like most people would really enjoy it.

I actually had no idea because she is so humble and hasn’t shared much about her books on her blog. I read Pooja’s post when she did a review on Clutter Begone and inquired about the book.
