Blogger Interview With Jes!

Blogger Interview With Jes!

I am so happy to share this interview with Jes– hope you guys enjoy reading it and I hope you take a minute to check out Jes’s blog

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hi Pooja, thanks for the opportunity. I am from Mumbai and I work in the finance sector. I live life to the fullest. I love to push my limits and get out of my comfort zone. I have done all sorts of adventure activities like paragliding in Turkey, skydive & bunjee jump in south Africa. I have in fact written detailed blogs on all of these.

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I have always been passionate about travelling and would plan my trips on a budget. My friends and family insisted that I start penning down my travel hacks which in turn led to the advent of my blog www.touristtotravellers.com

I mainly focus on hotel reviews/ staycations and travel guides.

3. What are some of your long term blogging goals?

For 2 years I wrote about travel and my experiences in general. Of late with the pandemic, I got an opportunity to spend some time learning about SEO. I intend to write more about what people are looking for such as day trips from a particular place, things to do in a particular place etc

I hope the blog reaches more people over the next few years and that they can make use of the travel tips.

4. Between working, travelling and life how do you find the time to blog and what advice would you give bloggers who are struggling with time management?

Time management can be tricky. I recently delivered a baby girl and finding time to blog and balancing personal life is difficult. If you are passionate about something, then you can definitely make time. They say “If it’s important you will find a way, if not then you will find an excuse”

Also, a lot depends on your support system, my family is supportive of my dreams and they allow me a lot of space to pursue my passions. So always feel free to ask your family to step in. If you are starting out, I suggest you learn about SEO first before you start writing i.e if you want to monetize your blog in the future.

5. What is your favourite thing about travelling?

It is said that “the journey is more beautiful than the destination” and rightly so. In my case, I love planning the trip. Right from picking a destination to going through various trip advisor forums to reading up numerous blogs jotting down to do list of things to cover. I love the whole process. Of course, the exhilaration on reaching the destination, trying different cuisines, getting lost in the beauty of nature or absorbed in the history is all very exciting.

6. What has been your favourite place to visit so far?

My favorite place/ country is hands down Turkey. It has something to offer every type of traveler, Right from enriching history to lip smacking food (they too use a lot of spices similar to India), to vast shopping options, Turkey has it all!

7. What is your favourite food?

I am a foodie so I love almost everything 😊 But if I have to point one out then it will be green thai curry.

8. What are some of the places on your travel bucket list?

I have been envisioning myself roaming the streets of Morocco since a while now and cannot wait to explore that country. Back home in India, I really want to travel to Munnar or Ooty soon.

9. What is one really crazy thing you believed as a child?

As I child, I always saw things with a rose-tinted glass. I always thought that life is easy and simple. Growing up now I see that one must take things with a pinch of salt.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

I have been following your blog and stories since the past 2 years and always loved reading them. You have come a long way and am extremely glad that you gave me an opportunity to come and speak on your platform. Looking forward to reading more of your blogs and staying connected with you.

Also, I would just like to say that life is short so live it to the fullest, Don’t have regrets. Go for that trip if you want to (office will always be there), spend some time with your kids (they grow up fast), learn that hobby that you have been planning since a while. Most importantly, be happy!

Blogger Interview With Aadhya

Blogger Interview With Aadhya

I am so pleased to be sharing this interview with Aadhya– a brilliant young blogger that I have really enjoyed the work of! Feel free to check out her blog which will be linked below.

  1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

My name is Aadhya. I’m 11 years old and I live in British Colombia, Canada. I love to read, write, sing and listen to music. I love camping, cooking, dancing, swimming, origami, coding, hanging out with my friends, and trying new activities! I love dogs, cats, and pigs (yeah, I just said pigs). I am also in an organization for girls called Girl Guides of Canada. In my free time, I work on my small fundraising project to support some charity organizations. I make and sell handmade greeting cards and donate the income to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and for literacy causes.

My blog is technically how I express myself in my OWN way. I write what I’m thinking of, my thoughts, feelings and emotions (sometimes it’s really random). Even my life experiences, what I’ve been through and other stuff like that.

  1. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging in June of 2020 during the quarantine. It wasn’t that easy for me during that time, it was really stressful with school, being safe wherever I went and being away from family. I needed some way to release my thoughts and I did not have blogging on my mind, but it still happened, so here I am.

  1. You’re a little younger than most of the bloggers I’ve interviewed which is great- you’re getting an early start to blogging which I wish I had. What are some advantages and disadvantages of blogging at a younger age?

It’s definitely easier for me to write. Just, it goes smoothly when I start, I can add what I want. At this age, it’s ok for me to make as many mistakes as I want, that’s how we learn, although it’s not a good thing, but readers aren’t that expectant. I can express my opinions, perspectives and share my experiences. Something that is a bit hard blogging at my age is thinking of what to write. I always write a post a day before posting because it always takes me at least a week to figure out what to write and there’s still editing to be done. Also, being a young blogger, I still have school, homework, family, and days where I’m just not in the mood. It’s very time-consuming, I can’t always take time out after school to write a new post.

  1. How has blogging changed your life?

Blogging has changed my life in many different ways. I love writing and it makes me happy. It has opened different learning avenues and helped me grow as an individual.

  1. Do you see blogging as something you would like to do as a career/full-time or do you think it will be more of a hobby?

I’m honestly going to keep blogging as a hobby rather than a career. There are many other things I want to do with my life. I am a lot better at other things, but who knows, it might change in a couple of years. I still love blogging, but I’ll keep it as a hobby.

  1. What has been your favourite blog to write so far?

Okay, so um… this is a hard one. I think my favourite posts to write so far are probably The Power of Peer Pressure and The Story of My Biggest Fear. They’re both about something I went through, that’s what makes them special. My most favourite post to write so far is More About Me just because it’s about me. Lol

  1. What is your favourite food?

My favourite food is quiche. You can have it for any meal! That makes it the best!

  1. Who are some of your favourite writers?

Two of my favourite writers are, Robert Munsch, I read him a lot as a child and his books were always so entertaining (I still read his books now), and Tui T. Sutherland. At one point, I had a major obsession with her novel series “Wings of Fire”.

  1. What is one place you really want to travel to?

I really want to travel to Bora Bora, Mauritius, Tanzania, Poland and France, but if I were to pick one, it would be Bora Bora.

  1. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers

Thank you so much, Pooja for taking the time to interview me! And thank you everyone for taking the time to read! I would love for you to drop by my blog and comment, like and perhaps follow! Thanks again!

Blogger Interview With The Confessions of a Random Blogger

Blogger Interview With The Confessions of a Random Blogger

I have been a fan of this blog for a while and therefore super excited to share this interview with you guys! Be sure to check out the blog- as always it will be linked below.

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Well, I’m 17 years old and I’m a first year college student. I’ve lived all over the world, but I’m currently in India. My blog is sort of a cocktail of every single niche out there; it’s kind of hard to describe! I simply talk about whatever is on my mind at the moment. I write about music, movies, cooking, poetry, psychology- you name it! My blog, quite simply put, is the confessions of a random blogger.

2. When did you start your blog and what inspired you to start a blog?

I started my blog in June 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown. I was going through a lot mentally, and I really just needed a creative outlet. I needed a place where I could say whatever I wanted without feeling like I was burdening the people around me. I started noticing that a couple of my friends had their own blogs where they published niche content every now and then. I’ve also always loved writing- many of my blogs have been drafts sitting in my notes app for years that I didn’t know what to do with. So, I decided to start my own blog!

3. What are some of your long term blogging goals?

I would be lying if I didn’t say the typical goals that almost every blogger has- views, likes, followers! For now, my long term blogging goals are just to be consistent. Maintaining a blog while trying to manage university can be extremely difficult. However, if I’m dreaming bigger, I would love to be featured in larger forms of media such as magazines and newspapers. Maybe even write my own book someday?

4. What inspires your posts/inspires you to write?

Almost everything around me inspires me to write. From movies, to music, to conversations with friends. For example, the other day I was watching a movie about the supermodel Gia Carangi, which inspired me so greatly to the point that I wrote an entire article about it. Inspiration is everywhere. You just have to find it.

http://theconfessionsofarandomblogger.com/2021/02/05/the-tragic-demise-of-gia-carangi/

5. What are some of your favourite topics to blog about?

Although my blog does sort of cover every niche out there, I would say that my favourite topics to talk about are movies, music and psychological analysis.

6. How has blogging helped you as a person?

Blogging has completely transformed me as a person. Before I started writing and posting regularly, I always felt this sense of incompleteness. It was sort of like I knew exactly what I was supposed to be doing but I didn’t know how. Blogging has also helped my anxiety both due to the pandemic and otherwise. As many of my fellow bloggers will testify to, blogging is hard work! It takes a huge amount of time and effort to consistently post. Therefore, it has really helped me to have an outlet to pile my extra energy and time into. There’s also a sense of belonging that comes with blogging- the community is always so welcoming and supportive!

7. What is your favourite food?

Tough question! I know it doesn’t necessarily count as a food, but coffee! Coffee in an IV please!

8. Where would you love to travel to if you could go anywhere in the world?

This is an answer I always have prepared! So I was born in Peru, but I only lived there for a year, which I obviously don’t remember. So if I could travel anywhere after the pandemic, it would definitely be Peru! I’d like to be able to answer the question I keep getting asked- “What is it like there?”

My second answer would absolutely have to be Paris. If you know me personally, you know that I cannot get through a conversation without mentioning France or The Eiffel Tower at least once.

9. What are some of your pet peeves?

Ah this could be an entire blog post! I’m one of those people that’s easily irritated by almost everything. However, since this is a blogging interview, I’ll talk about blogging pet peeves. I absolutely HATE those spam comments that are either trying to sell some sort of useless product or are literally just promoting their own blogs. I mean…what sort of answer do they expect? “Thank you so much- I’ll take two?”

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.
Thank you to the readers that took the time to read this far; things are so incredibly uncertain right now, and the fact that you decided to take the time out of your busy schedule to read this interview means so much to me. I would also like to thank Pooja for interviewing me! Your blog was one of the first that I came across when I started blogging and you have been nothing short of an inspiration ever since.

Blogger Interview With Devika

Blogger Interview With Devika

I was such a pleasure to chat with Devika and I hope you guys enjoy this interview. Be sure to check out her wonderful blog- as always it will be linked below!

  1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hi Pooja, I am glad I could come and join your stunning blog in exchange for our conversation. My name is Devika Mathur, a lover of nature, believes in mindfulness and who hates small talk. I love everything that moves a soul through art and poetry. I blog about poetry at my valiantsoul. You will find everything that can make you feel melancholic, loved, gloomy and all the emotions that instil our heart and minds with things sometimes unnoticed.

  1. When and why did you start blogging?

If you ask about writing poetry, I think I have been doing that since I can remember and for that as I can recall I needed a platform, so blogging happened when I was in the darkest phase of my life. Nobody would believe but I chose my passion, hard work over things that made me feel trivial back in 2014. I used to be lost at words, feeling quiet and would hardly have the confidence to present my abstract thoughts to the world. So, when blogging happened, I remember the amount of love and support I got on WordPress, people would be so kind that it nearly overwhelmed me.

I consider writing is nothing but liberation to me. I needed to bleed somewhere, in some form and so My valiant Soul happened.

  1. How has blogging changed your life?

As I said, WordPress is my first home when it comes to writing. I have tried and experimented with a plethora of platforms but the genuine love that I receive here is so surreal. Writing poetry on my blog did make me believe in the life that I chose. I chose to inspire rather than being a nobody. I feel it is good that we humans have such a tremendous gift of producing things, of creating things out of nothing and when I created words, sentences, poems here it made me feel something. Something better.

  1. Your blog primarily consists of poetry- what is it about poetry that really draws you towards it?

So there’s this saying “If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you done”. And something treacherously was burdening me. I have had moments of anxiety, severe panic attacks and multiple sleepless nights .I still do often but I needed to explode or direct my emotions into something beautiful yet calm. I write poetry to feel that feeling of calmness. As I am mostly a confessional, surrealist poet my work is dark, my imagery is dark and writing dark makes me calm. See, we can’t confine definitions according to one person. To me everything is art and art soothes me only till the time it is there in a conducive form.

  1. What are some of your long term blogging goals?

Sadly, off late I am not much active on my blog as before as I started curating my newsletter. I was busy with my poetry book that was released in 2020 ‘Crimson Skins’ published by Indie Blu(e)and various other anthologies by Indie Blu(e) Publishing and others. I started so many various projects that I was left with almost no time in hand to write my poems for my kind readers. But I see myself expanding my horizon, I see myself working on my areas, spreading shades of my art or whatever I could possibly generate that can help inspire people. I might start some or the other projects soon..you never know!:)

  1. Is blogging something you would like to pursue long term or is it more of a hobby for you?

Yes, I think this is very imperative for me to know as well. I would say it is in a hybrid form. I can’t make myself attached or a representative of my blog forever. It has to be much more than that. How about, if we say blogging is a part of my life and not the entire life? I feel, when we don’t make everything our complete, whole part it is better. But I see blogging as a long term as well as a hobby to me.

7. What is your favourite food?

I love my Indian cuisine, everything home cooked and also love Thai, Continental.

8. Where would you love to travel to?

Ah! Everywhere possible before I die.

9. What is the most inspiring thing someone has ever said to you?

“Indulging in self -care is such a beautiful thing. Once you begin it, there is no way you feel connected to things that are only trivial”

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

It is completely my pleasure Pooja! I am beyond grateful to my dear readers, anybody who has found some peace, home in my works. If anyone is interested, could check out my published works by visiting my blog. I also happen to dispatch weekly mindful, self- care along with classic poetry newsletters. If anyone wants one, they can subscribe for free! I wish everyone Love and light!

Blogger Interview With Saumya

Blogger Interview With Saumya

I want to thank Saumya for being part of this interview- she is wonderful and so is her blog so definitely do take a minute to check it out. As always her blog will be linked below.

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hey there! My name is Saumya and I’m a teenager from India. I’m currently in 8th Standard. I love to draw, write, dance and listen to music. I also do lettering and calligraphy. I am a proud GryffinClaw and my patronus is a Dolphin. Writing and reading is something I’ve been doing from a long time. My blog is mainly a lifestyle blog. I write poems and songs, make art, currently I’ve been working on the Blogger Interview Series that I started

To know more about me and my blog, you can check out my About Page. (https://drawwriteinspire.wordpress.com/about/

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?
I started my blog in around end of January this year. I used to write many stuff and send it to my friends and I also made my mum and dad read them. They used to appreciate my works and it was one of my friends who suggested me to post my write-ups and artworks somewhere publicly and that is why is started my blog.

3. I noticed that you write about a number of topics on your blog- do you have a favourite?
Well, I enjoy doing all types of post because different kinds of post attract various types of people. But my most favourite kind of post are the poems and songs that I write. It is because they are always something very personal and they also make me reach out other people who have gone through the same situations.

4. What are some of your long term blogging goals?
I have been focussing on my blog very much from the past 1 month and it’s going pretty good. I haven’t really thought about it but maybe 5K followers. I’m only on 100 followers but a girl can dream right?

5. How has blogging impacted your life?
Blogging has impacted my life in a good way. It has made my personality better and has obviously taught me time management. When we need to do something we like, we automatically find time to do it. And blogging has taught me that I can manage doing my studies and all my hobies together.

6. What is one thing you love about blogging and one thing you hate about it?
There are a lot of things I like about blogging. But the most important one is the audience that I reach out. WordPress is an amazing community and it has shown me such a nice support so I think that is the best thing about having a blog here. Everyone was so encouraging and I made so many new friends here! I don’t think there is anything so far that I don’t like about blogging, it’s pretty fun.

7. What is your favourite food?
I’m a very moody person when it comes to food. If there are 10 things in the world to eat then I only eat 3 out of them. Trust me, I eat a lot but I’m not a foodie. I don’t like trying new dishes until and unless it’s something chocolate. I think my favourite food has to be Corn and Cheese Pizza.

8. Do you have any pet peeves?
Yes, actually I have a lot of pet peeves but I’m just gonna state one or two. I hate it when people judge me because of my gender. Yes I know we’re living in 21st century but still there still seems to be some kind of inequality. Like when I play badminton with my friends, just because I’m a girl, they think I won’t be able to play like them so they don’t wanna team up with me. So yes, I find it extremely annoying when someone does a kind of thing like that.

9. Do you have any weird phobias?
Oh, I’m probably the most coward in the world. I’m scared of almost everything! Insects, dogs, reptiles, cats, birds, firecrackers, trust me, everything!! Even there are some people around me, who I meet and talk to everyday but I’m still afraid of them.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.
Thank-you so much to everyone who has read my blog so far and shown me support. Thank-you Pooja for having me here. All the questions were so much fun.

Blogger Interview With Esha

Blogger Interview With Esha

I want to thank Esha for stopping by and she has an amazing blog so don’t forget to stop by her blog and check it out. I hope you enjoy the interview!

  1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.

Hello and Namaste! 🙏

Thanks for letting me be a part of this. I am a 25-year-old girl, based in India. I completed my postgraduate degree in English Literature back in 2019. My hobbies include reading, writing, photography and swimming.

My blog came to fruition in 2017, when I made it with the help of a friend. My aim was to use it as a creative outlet. However, over the last year, it has grown into something more than what I had hoped for. Now, I write about productivity, book review and mental clarity – things that I took an interest in and trying to inculcate in my life in order to live more meaningfully.

  1. When did you start blogging and what pushed you to do so?

I had a blog before this. I started my first blog when I was 18 (that is, 2014 for me) and was fresh out of high school. The reason was simple – I loved writing. However, I only wrote a few posts on that blog before I abandoned it with the excuse that I was too busy for it. I decided to get back to blogging in 2017 when I was 21. I made a new site since I thought that the previous blog was too juvenile for a 21-year-old. I still love writing and this blog is the little corner on the internet where I can furnish my thoughts and beliefs.

  1. What is your favourite post that you’ve written on your blog so far?

I don’t know if it’s weird but I do not have any favourite post? Everything on this blog is a result of the things I’m passionate about. However, I must admit that the post – How to get over a reading slump? – is one of the posts that resonate with me a lot. Especially since I have gone through a long period of reader’s block for years before I reconnected with reading again.

  1. How has your blog evolved since you first started blogging?

Very much! As stated earlier, I started this blog to post creative stories and articles. However, now, it has turned into so much more. I write book reviews, topics about productivity and mental clarity. These are the things that I am trying to inculcate in my life too. I have suffered from the uncertainty of putting myself out there but with time, I have managed to put that behind me. I also started doing requested book reviews recently – which is something that I never thought would happen until I actually got contacted by authors. I feel like writing about topics like productivity, books and mental clarity is actually a great way to hold myself accountable and try out the things that I am preaching about. I never really thought that I could write non-fiction for a long period of time. Now, the majority of content on my blog is non-fiction.

  1. Do you have a favourite topic to write about on your blog?

I have a bunch. Also, everything on my blog is something I love and is passionate about. My two favourite topics here would be books and organisation & productivity. I am really passionate about those things and I believe that it shows.

  1. You have a lot of great book reviews- what has been your favourite book to review so far?

The books I review on my blog (apart from the ones that are requested) are all about the books I liked. I think that it is better to write reviews for the books I enjoyed and would recommend rather than the ones I don’t. Among the requested ones, I only posted 3 of them till now and I have been lucky enough to get the good ones. However, the last 5-stars review from me was Lucia’s War by Susan Lanigan. Although it is historical fiction, set in the times of early to mid-1900s, it features some relevant topics that are prevalent even to this day and age – like race, sexuality and gender. I really liked it and would recommend it to the people looking for book recommendations.

  1. What are some of your blogging goals for 2021?

After experimenting with different schedules, I found out that I am better off with set routines. I do not have number goals in case of followers. That is not something I can control so I try not to dwell on it so much. What I can control is the number of posts I can churn out every week. So, nowadays, I am looking to post twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I started 2020 with one post a week and ended up loving blogging so much that I ending up writing multiple times a week. So, this year, my goal is to post twice a week. I also want to touch on newer topics like minimalism and stoicism – something that I have been experimenting for quite some time. I am still very amateur in terms of these topics but would love to explore them more in future.

  1. What is your favourite genre to read?

I am normally a crime and thrillers fan – my favourite crime fiction author being Agatha Christie. I also love John Grisham. I also love self-help books that would help me become a better version of myself. Recently, I have started liking contemporary/modern fiction too.

  1. What is your favourite food?

Garlic Chicken – been so for over a decade now and nothing really topped it.

  1. Which Hogwarts house do you belong to?

I am a Pottermore-certified Hufflepuff. Go Badgers!

  1. If you could go to Hogwarts for a day what would you do there?

Become a student, attend classes, learn magic, and go to the quidditch tryouts! I believe that I’d be an excellent Chaser. I am really good at catching and throwing stuff. How hard can it be with a Quaffle?

  1. Who are some of the people that inspire you to write?

I do not have a specific name for this question. I believe it is a cumulative effect of many people I came across in my life. I have been interested in writing ever since I wrote my first essay – “Myself” – back in kindergarten. I also sent a Facebook message to an Indian author named Priya Kumar after reading one of her novels. She mentioned my writing skills and encouraged me to continue writing. I guess that incident crystallised the idea of me writing more and publishing it online. It was around the same time I started my first blog.

  1. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you want to share with the readers.

Hey there! If you have managed to read till here, then thanks for sticking by! If you are interested in topics like productivity, books and mental clarity, then feel free to check out my blog – Felix Felicitated. I hope you’d find something valuable there.

Stay safe and healthy! 👋🏾
