Blogger Interview With Rahul

Blogger Interview With Rahul

This interview was so great to do and if you enjoy it as much as we did be sure to check out Rahul’s blog using the link at the end of the interview.

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

My name is Rahul Gaur, and I am primarily a filmmaker who has made 3 short films and is in the process of writing feature films and TV series on spec now. I have a particular affinity with the written word and have also tried to describe myself in a simple sentence.

Filmmaker by day, reader by night and poetry happens in between

The poetry part is what the blog is about. It is a digital archive of all my poems.

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I started this blog on January 12, 2017. Since it is January, I guess you could say it was the air of the start of a new year when you want to strive towards becoming a better version of yourself. My simple aim was to write regularly and seeking clarity of my thoughts when I write (which I talked about in my first blog post. If I satisfy the ignored feelings inside a reader, then all the better.

3. Your poetry is really great- where do you draw inspiration for your poems from?

First comes the first words for me, almost always. It loops in my mind until I accept to put it on paper. Then comes a piece of music to it that holds the rhythm of the words to come. If not this then it’s by listening to music, going on a walk, meditating and following the kick you get from learning new ideas.

4. What inspires you to continue blogging?

If I call myself a writer, I have to write. The other inspiration is gaining knowledge, being in this wonderful community of WordPress and reaching as closer to my higher self as it is possible through writing and thinking.

5. What are some of your long term goals for blogging?

My only long-term goals are to write more than I have written in the past year and read and interact with more poets, writers and other artists.

6. Do you ever experience writer’s block and if so how do you combat it?

More than combatting writer’s block it has been about understanding the source of it. What actually makes me think I can’t write? Is it perfectionism? Is it getting creatively stuck? Or is it an external reason not in my control? Then after accepting these problems, I think and write about them themselves.
Recently I went through an illness that made me sleep throughout the day and made me feel a pain that I have never experienced for such a long time. Instead of not writing because of it, I wrote poems that turned that pain into an understanding of it. How my body is reacting to it, the way the illness is metamorphosing in my body and how my mind feels while battling it. This helped me give the strength to overcome the pain and as well as overcome a potential writer’s block.
Here is an example of one poem that talks about it: About Fragility

7. What is your favourite food?

All the things that I can’t and should not eat like, Burgers, Pasta and Gulab Jamuns. Oh, how hard it is to resist a Gulab Jamun! It is a bigger battle than overcoming writer’s block.
Maybe it is the reason why I am not a big foodie.

8. What was your favourite cartoon as a child?

I didn’t have a particular favourite cartoon per se. But I had phases of loving cartoons like Oswald, Galactik Football, Ed, Edd & Eddy and Tom & Jerry. I was more into reading Enid Blyton’s The Secret Seven and The Famous Five.

9. If you could have any superpower what would it be?

I would like to have the superpower to have multiple versions of me to write more, help more, listen more and sleep more.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

I would like to thank you Pooja for giving me this wonderful opportunity to express myself outside of my poetry. To anyone reading till here, come over to my blog to read my journey of growth and an attempt at understanding the world around me. If you stick by then, I promise you will learn from the articulation of my understandings as I will learn from reading your works as well.

Thank you and keep on writing and reading!

Blogger Interview With Wayne

Blogger Interview With Wayne

I would like to thank Wayne for stopping by lifesfinewhine- he has one of the best travel blogs I’ve had the pleasure of reading so be sure to stop by his blog which will be linked below!

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hi there!!! My name is Wayne and I love to blog about my travel experiences and events happening in my life at the moment. I am from Northern Ireland and have been living in Australia for 4 years now.

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

The move to Australia made my decision to start blogging. I wanted to share my experiences and showcase places that I had visited. I started blogging as soon as I arrived Down Under. I had always wanted to try blogging and this was the perfect timing for me.

3. What inspired you to take such a big step and move to Australia?

I had previously been to Australia on a one year working holiday visa. That was in 2009. I fell in love with the country, the people, the weather and the chilled out lifestyle. Therefore, I made it my mission to return 1 day.

4. What do you love about travelling?

I love seeing new places with my own eyes, taking photos, meeting new people and learning new things about different places. I love seeing new cultures and appreciating their way of life, especially the food. For me, it’s about learning every day and opening your mind, your way of thinking.

5. What are 5 things you could never travel without?

First of all my camera! Then my phone (I like to to be connected 🤣), swimming shorts, sun screen and lastly good company. I prefer to travel with others, mostly my partner 🤗

6. What advice would you give to people looking to become travel bloggers or that are just starting out as a travel blogger?

Just give it a go if travel is something you love to write about and share your experiences. You don’t have to have a big following on social media. Also, you don’t have to travel to far and wide places. You can travel local and people will still be interested. Just do what suits you.

7. What is your favourite food?

Italian cuisine. I love pasta!

8. Have you had any crazy travel experiences?

I once planned a trip around the world. I was planning to travel for 1 year around the globe. I had bought my ticket, left my 2 roles of employment, had the most epic farewell parties, said goodbye to my loved ones and off I went. 6 days later I returned home 🙈. As fate would have it, I began a relationship with my partner 3 months before leaving for my trip. Being away was extremely difficult and I didn’t want us to be apart. It was the best decision to return home and 14 years later we are still together 🥰. We have since had many, many travels together.

9. If you could have any superpower what would it be?

I would love to be able to teleport. I could go anywhere at any time and visit loved ones 💛

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

Thanks so much reading and getting to know me
