What I Eat In A Day

What I Eat In A Day

Introduction

I haven’t done one of these posts for a while now because I have been taking a semi-break and only been posting six word stories and interviews so I am super excited to share this post with you guys. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been trying a lot of new foods and just trying to make things that I don’t normally make often. Thanks to this I have discovered so many new dishes I now really like and make often and I have a bunch of food related content for you guys.

I decided to share todays meals because generally I make a lot of East Asian food- usually Korean- because I really do love those but I have also been trying to make more Indian/South Asian dishes. I generally avoid making Indian/South Asian food because I find it a bit time consuming and I feel like my sister is better at making them than I am so I leave that to her. However, on this day I was like no- I’m going to make some Indian stuff myself. Anyway, I’m going to stop rambling now so that we can finally get into the good part of this post- the food!

Disclaimer: I don’t usually eat like this but I wanted to try new things for this post and make it fun so I decided to try some not exactly healthy stuff which is fun once in a while! All the products used/mentioned are vegan.

Breakfast

Unsweetened Original Oat Milk | Silk Canada

Strawberry Stuff'd Oat Bites | Organic & Gluten Free Snacks | Bobo's

Some of you guys probably know this if you have read my earlier What I Eat In A Day posts but I don’t generally have much for breakfast because I am not a morning person and eating in the morning makes me feel kind of gross. I know a lot of people love having a big breakfast but I am just really not one of those people.

For breakfast on this day I started with some Silk milk which is a vegan alternative milk that I am absolutely obsessed with. I am pretty particular about alternative milk because some of the brands really water them down but I have noticed that Silk is pretty creamy and delicious. I hate oats but for some reason everything I had for breakfast on this day had oats in it and I loved all of it! I think I don’t hate the taste of oats I just don’t like porridge because of its texture. It just really grosses me out for some reason.

Anyway, I had some oat milk from Silk and I also tried Bobo’s strawberry flavoured Stuff’d Bites. I have tried one thing from this brand and very much enjoyed it and as expected I loved the Stuff’d Bites too (I got some more today but in a different flavour!). They are super delicious and the stuffing is the perfect amount of sweet and sour. I liked the first one so much I ate another one haha. It’s a little dry because of the oats but I was drinking oat milk with it anyway so I didn’t mind at all. If you have never tried Bobo’s products I would HIGHLY recommend them- they are super delicious and one of my new favourite treats.

Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of my breakfast because I didn’t think I was going to be making this post on that day but I decided to later on in the day. But I have added some images I found on Google in case anyone is interested- I know when it comes to stuff about food the best part is the pictures/videos.

Lunch

I had no idea what I was going to make for lunch so I did what I usually do which is YouTube a bunch of recipes till I find something I like and it totally worked because I found something that I am now super obsessed with- Shri Lankan eggplant curry. I had a giant eggplant in the fridge that I needed to finish and I usually make Korean eggplant with it but this time I wanted to make something new.

I have never had Shri Lankan food, authentic or otherwise, so I have no idea whether this tasted authentic or not but all I know is that my taste buds loved it and my mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. This is the recipe I used as a basis but I changed a couple of things like I stir fried the stuff that was fried in the original recipe and I added less curry powder and no tamarind juice and used lemon and water instead.

So, definitely not authentic but still extremely delicious. I ate it with some rice and it was a simple and delicious meal. Plus, eggplant cooks really fast so it didn’t take too long to make- I was done with everything in about forty minutes or so. It was also super light so I didn’t feel lazy in the afternoon and filmed a bunch of reels for my Instagram which was awesome.

Snack

Puffs Pink Salt & Vinegar (Organic and Plant-Based) | GoGo Quinoa
Source: https://www.gogoquinoa.com/products/puffs-sel-rose-et-vinaigre-biologique-et-a-base-de-plantes/

Of course, I have to have some snacks in between meals because that is just who I am as a person lol. I had some GoGo Quinoa Puffs in the flavour salt and vinegar. They were okay, not the best things ever. The quinoa made them kind of dry but they weren’t too bad. I would definitely not get them again though- they were pricey for the amount and the taste wasn’t worth it either if I’m being totally honest. I have the siracha flavour as well but I haven’t tried those yet- hoping they are better but I don’t have very high hopes for them. It may be because they are gluten free because a lot of times I don’t really like the taste of gluten free foods. They taste very gluten free- I don’t know how to explain it but if you have ever had regular pizza and then gluten free pizza you will probably know what I mean.

Dinner

At night, I got kind of lazy and did not want to do a lot of cooking so I decided to heat up some frozen samosa’s and make samosa chaat. Samosa is probably one of my favourite Indian foods but I rarely eat them because they are not the healthiest thing out there but I felt like I wanted a treat and I didn’t want to eat boring healthy foods if I was going to make a post about it so I decided to heat some up. The samosa’s I used are from Shana and are available at most Walmart’s. I prefer the Deep ones but I couldn’t get them the last time I got groceries so I got these instead and they are pretty good too.

I topped the samosa’s with some chickpea curry, chopped tomatoes and onions and later added some Silk coconut yogurt.as well as some chutney. I know authentically people also add some sev but I didn’t have any so I added some Haldiram Bhel Mix which still tasted pretty good. I’m pretty sure I added too much by “accident” though…

I have made this before so I knew I would enjoy it and of course it’s always fun to eat some Indian food after a while- made me miss my mum’s cooking though!

Dessert

After a kind of greasy, junk-y dinner I wanted something sweet so I had one of these chocolate cups. They’re from b2b and this one was mint flavoured. They are absolutely delicious and I am obsessed with them lately. Seriously, please stop me I have been eating way too many of these.

Your Thoughts

Have you ever had any of the foods I mentioned above? What did you eat today? Do you enjoy South Asian food? What is your favourite food?

Life Update #3

Life Update #3

As you probably know if you have read my earlier post, I am trying to go back to blogging regularly like I used to and blogging on a number of topics not just six word stories and interviews. I had taken a break from longer posts because they take a lot more time but I feel ready and excited to get back into it. Why now you may ask? Well, my answer is stop being nosy. Kidding- I just had a fun break but now I have a lot to say that’s all.

I thought I should do a little update post because I haven’t really talked much about what’s been going on with me lately and I thought it would be nice to catch up with everyone and let you know what’s going on in my life.

If you follow me on my Instagram page you probably already know this but I have been spending a lot more time on my Instagram and I am currently trying really hard to grow it. The progress is a lot slower than with WordPress but I don’t mind. At the moment I am just really enjoying the process of creating content. I have been having a lot of fun with the reels feature which allows you to make short 15-60 second videos. I have been making short funny ones but I also want to start making makeup tutorial videos and more stuff to do with makeup because that’s something I am very into right now and I don’t want to post makeup stuff on my blog too often so I think my Instagram would be a good place to post it. Feel free to check out my reels- I would appreciate it!

This is the latest one I posted:

I’ve also been posting reels about blogging which you can check out below if that’s something you would be interested in:

I also recently hurt my chin by mistake so now my face is all bruised up. It’s kind of annoying because I wanted to take pictures and create reels for Instagram but I can’t because of the bruise. Thankfully, I still have some videos and images I had made earlier that I can use but yeah I’m hoping this heals quickly. Also don’t ask what happened- it’s kind of an embarrassing story of my stupidity so I’m going to choose to not share it with the internet for now lol.

I have been making a lot of new foods too which I am excited to share with you on my What I Eat In A Day posts as well as my recipe posts. I have honestly eaten so many interesting things in the last few weeks I have a lot of food content coming up so definitely keep an eye out for that!

I have also been watching A LOT of Grey’s Anatomy which I am so obsessed with now- if there are any other Grey’s fans out there let’s chat in the comments about it!!

I have also been meaning to get back into art recently so I will be sharing my progress with you guys when that happens.

I have been listening to a lot of new music too and I plan to make an entire post about that at some point but for now I thought I would share some tracks I have been listening to lately:

The songs below contain explicit content so if that is something you would like to avoid please do not watch them.

Oh, and the other day my concealer randomly fell down in the middle of the night from my shelf which I keep all my makeup on and disappeared. Like it just disappeared completely. I turned my bedroom upside down looking for it and I still haven’t found it. It’s been more than a month… Am I being haunted? This is definitely one of the weirdest things that have ever happened to me.

That’s pretty much it for me at the moment- I’ll edit stuff in later if I remember more stuff I want to share with you guys lol. Have a great day everyone!

Your Thoughts

What have you been up to lately? Anything exciting or interesting happening in your life? Are you a fan of Grey’s Anatomy? What music are you currently listening to? Let me know in the comments below because I always enjoy chatting with you guys or simply stop by and say hi- I swear I don’t bite anymore 😂

Blogger Interview With Olivia

Blogger Interview With Olivia

Super excited to share this interview with Olivia– I have really enjoyed her blog for a while now so I am happy that we could do this interview. Feel free to check out her blog which will be linked below

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hi there, my names Olivia and I am a Lifestyle blogger.  I really write about everything and anything. My blog covers topics such as body positivity, interior design, self-care, mental health, blogging tips and so much more.

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

My blog originally started as a beauty blog back in 2015. I really wanted a platform to share all things hair and makeup. I blogged for about a year and then decided to stop. I had a 4-year break from blogging and came back in July 2020, mid pandemic. I completely re-branded my blog into what it is today. My original reason for starting the beauty blog was to raise awareness of the lack of diversity in the beauty world. We constantly see the same skin tones and complexions from brands. And so, I wanted to create a space for people who didn’t fit the ‘normal’ standard that the beauty world has.

I decided to re-brand and come back to blogging in 2020 because I needed a focus in life. Life as we knew it stopped and I really needed something to focus on besides work.

3. You sort of recreated your blog/brand- what inspired you to do this and what advice would you give bloggers looking to redesign their blog?

I knew that sticking with the beauty blog I had created would have only gotten me so far. The content I was creating was far too niche and it really excluded a lot of other people. I want to create content for everyone, and although I know beauty and makeup is for everyone. I still knew there was a large chunk of potential audience that I wasn’t reaching.

The advice I would give is, if you feel like you want to re-brand your blog don’t wait until the perfect moment. Do it there and then. You don’t want to wait too long into your blogging journey to do it as it could have negative impacts. I’m glad I did it, but there were so many steps I had to do afterwards to sort of, clean up the mess. Like removing broken links with my old domain name. That was annoying to say the least!

4. How has blogging changed your life?

Blogging really gave me a purpose. It really ignited my love for content creation. It also lead me to other avenues too. I recently created a small business selling digital illustrations. And I don’t think I would have ever done that if it wasn’t for blogging. It’s probably one of the best things I have done in life so far.

5. How do you find the time to blog while doing so many other things too and what advice would you give other bloggers looking to manage their time better?

It’s funny because some days I feel like I’m killing it with blogging and managing everything else. And then I have other days where I feel like I am not doing well at all. Being organised and scheduling things in advance really helps me to keep on top of everything. I like to bulk write my blog posts and this helps to keep me on top of things. I put aside an hour or two and write about 2-3 posts at a time.

6. What are some of your long term blogging goals?

I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing brands already, but I would love to continue to work with more. I also look forward to increasing my following and hopefully hit 5k this year! Which would be crazy, but amazing too! One of my biggest goals is finding ways to help other bloggers. I know how it feels to be pretty clueless when it comes to blogging, so I want to help and support as many people as I can.

7. What is your favourite food?

I don’t think I have a specific food, but type of food would be Mexican or Italian. Give me all the carbs.

8. What is one of your favourite childhood memories?

Being able to spend so much time outside playing games with my friends or family. Some of my most fond memories are being active and outside of the house.

9. What are some of your favourite hobbies other than blogging?

I really love digital illustrations and calligraphy. Its a new love of mine but one I have really grown fond of over the last few months.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

Thanks Pooja for having me on your blog for this interview. I have been such a big fan of your work for so long. You’re an inspiration to a blogger like me.

We Were On A Break

We Were On A Break

Don’t worry I’m not breaking up with you!

I don’t have anything to post today because I decided to take a little break for the day and concentrate on just doing some fun things I enjoy apart from blogging- a lot of it involved food lol! I’ll share a What I Eat post soon so you guys can check it out then.

I have actually been taking a break from blogging for a while now which is why I have just been posting six word stories and interviews. I had a long semester and I wanted some time to just relax before getting into blogging again but I think I am ready to get back into it. I know I haven’t been very active on other blogs but I plan to be a lot more active starting tomorrow and my posts will also be changing starting tomorrow. The interviews will stay because I love doing them but there will be a lot less six word stories (*angry booing from the crowd as someone throws a tomato at me*) and I will be blogging like I used to again. If you’re fairy new you may not know this but once upon a time lifesfinewhine had more than just six word stories. Rumour has it that the writer wrote on topics like blogging/social media advice, poetry, makeup, food, mental health, lifestyle and more. I plan to get back to that and I have decided that once a week I will talk about something going on in the world that I find interesting. It will probably be a rant knowing me lol but I hope to do some research and try to make it kind of educational too. And don’t worry I’ll still post six word stories just less frequently.

I know I haven’t been replying to emails either but I will be doing so starting tomorrow. I just really needed some time off.

Anyway, have a great day!

Blogger Interview With Jes!

Blogger Interview With Jes!

I am so happy to share this interview with Jes– hope you guys enjoy reading it and I hope you take a minute to check out Jes’s blog

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Hi Pooja, thanks for the opportunity. I am from Mumbai and I work in the finance sector. I live life to the fullest. I love to push my limits and get out of my comfort zone. I have done all sorts of adventure activities like paragliding in Turkey, skydive & bunjee jump in south Africa. I have in fact written detailed blogs on all of these.

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I have always been passionate about travelling and would plan my trips on a budget. My friends and family insisted that I start penning down my travel hacks which in turn led to the advent of my blog www.touristtotravellers.com

I mainly focus on hotel reviews/ staycations and travel guides.

3. What are some of your long term blogging goals?

For 2 years I wrote about travel and my experiences in general. Of late with the pandemic, I got an opportunity to spend some time learning about SEO. I intend to write more about what people are looking for such as day trips from a particular place, things to do in a particular place etc

I hope the blog reaches more people over the next few years and that they can make use of the travel tips.

4. Between working, travelling and life how do you find the time to blog and what advice would you give bloggers who are struggling with time management?

Time management can be tricky. I recently delivered a baby girl and finding time to blog and balancing personal life is difficult. If you are passionate about something, then you can definitely make time. They say “If it’s important you will find a way, if not then you will find an excuse”

Also, a lot depends on your support system, my family is supportive of my dreams and they allow me a lot of space to pursue my passions. So always feel free to ask your family to step in. If you are starting out, I suggest you learn about SEO first before you start writing i.e if you want to monetize your blog in the future.

5. What is your favourite thing about travelling?

It is said that “the journey is more beautiful than the destination” and rightly so. In my case, I love planning the trip. Right from picking a destination to going through various trip advisor forums to reading up numerous blogs jotting down to do list of things to cover. I love the whole process. Of course, the exhilaration on reaching the destination, trying different cuisines, getting lost in the beauty of nature or absorbed in the history is all very exciting.

6. What has been your favourite place to visit so far?

My favorite place/ country is hands down Turkey. It has something to offer every type of traveler, Right from enriching history to lip smacking food (they too use a lot of spices similar to India), to vast shopping options, Turkey has it all!

7. What is your favourite food?

I am a foodie so I love almost everything 😊 But if I have to point one out then it will be green thai curry.

8. What are some of the places on your travel bucket list?

I have been envisioning myself roaming the streets of Morocco since a while now and cannot wait to explore that country. Back home in India, I really want to travel to Munnar or Ooty soon.

9. What is one really crazy thing you believed as a child?

As I child, I always saw things with a rose-tinted glass. I always thought that life is easy and simple. Growing up now I see that one must take things with a pinch of salt.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

I have been following your blog and stories since the past 2 years and always loved reading them. You have come a long way and am extremely glad that you gave me an opportunity to come and speak on your platform. Looking forward to reading more of your blogs and staying connected with you.

Also, I would just like to say that life is short so live it to the fullest, Don’t have regrets. Go for that trip if you want to (office will always be there), spend some time with your kids (they grow up fast), learn that hobby that you have been planning since a while. Most importantly, be happy!

Blogger Interview With Aadhya

Blogger Interview With Aadhya

I am so pleased to be sharing this interview with Aadhya– a brilliant young blogger that I have really enjoyed the work of! Feel free to check out her blog which will be linked below.

  1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

My name is Aadhya. I’m 11 years old and I live in British Colombia, Canada. I love to read, write, sing and listen to music. I love camping, cooking, dancing, swimming, origami, coding, hanging out with my friends, and trying new activities! I love dogs, cats, and pigs (yeah, I just said pigs). I am also in an organization for girls called Girl Guides of Canada. In my free time, I work on my small fundraising project to support some charity organizations. I make and sell handmade greeting cards and donate the income to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and for literacy causes.

My blog is technically how I express myself in my OWN way. I write what I’m thinking of, my thoughts, feelings and emotions (sometimes it’s really random). Even my life experiences, what I’ve been through and other stuff like that.

  1. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging in June of 2020 during the quarantine. It wasn’t that easy for me during that time, it was really stressful with school, being safe wherever I went and being away from family. I needed some way to release my thoughts and I did not have blogging on my mind, but it still happened, so here I am.

  1. You’re a little younger than most of the bloggers I’ve interviewed which is great- you’re getting an early start to blogging which I wish I had. What are some advantages and disadvantages of blogging at a younger age?

It’s definitely easier for me to write. Just, it goes smoothly when I start, I can add what I want. At this age, it’s ok for me to make as many mistakes as I want, that’s how we learn, although it’s not a good thing, but readers aren’t that expectant. I can express my opinions, perspectives and share my experiences. Something that is a bit hard blogging at my age is thinking of what to write. I always write a post a day before posting because it always takes me at least a week to figure out what to write and there’s still editing to be done. Also, being a young blogger, I still have school, homework, family, and days where I’m just not in the mood. It’s very time-consuming, I can’t always take time out after school to write a new post.

  1. How has blogging changed your life?

Blogging has changed my life in many different ways. I love writing and it makes me happy. It has opened different learning avenues and helped me grow as an individual.

  1. Do you see blogging as something you would like to do as a career/full-time or do you think it will be more of a hobby?

I’m honestly going to keep blogging as a hobby rather than a career. There are many other things I want to do with my life. I am a lot better at other things, but who knows, it might change in a couple of years. I still love blogging, but I’ll keep it as a hobby.

  1. What has been your favourite blog to write so far?

Okay, so um… this is a hard one. I think my favourite posts to write so far are probably The Power of Peer Pressure and The Story of My Biggest Fear. They’re both about something I went through, that’s what makes them special. My most favourite post to write so far is More About Me just because it’s about me. Lol

  1. What is your favourite food?

My favourite food is quiche. You can have it for any meal! That makes it the best!

  1. Who are some of your favourite writers?

Two of my favourite writers are, Robert Munsch, I read him a lot as a child and his books were always so entertaining (I still read his books now), and Tui T. Sutherland. At one point, I had a major obsession with her novel series “Wings of Fire”.

  1. What is one place you really want to travel to?

I really want to travel to Bora Bora, Mauritius, Tanzania, Poland and France, but if I were to pick one, it would be Bora Bora.

  1. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers

Thank you so much, Pooja for taking the time to interview me! And thank you everyone for taking the time to read! I would love for you to drop by my blog and comment, like and perhaps follow! Thanks again!

If you enjoyed this interview don’t forget to stop by Aadhya’s blog by clicking here.
