The One With The Reels

The One With The Reels

I have been sharing my Instagram reels on here for the last few weeks since some of you seem to enjoy them. I know that not everyone that follows me here follows me on IG too since some of you may not have an IG account or some of you may not be interested in the content I post there since it’s quite different from what I post on my blog. However, some of you do enjoy my reels when I share them here and have asked in the comments if I can share them more often and honestly they are so fun to make that I get excited about sharing them so I decided to occasionally share them here too. I’ve always been VERY camera shy so this is a big deal for me lol. Hope you enjoy them!

More Reels!

More Reels!

As you probably know, Instagram recently introduced a reels to their platform and I have been really enjoying making them. They are basically short little videos and you can get really creative with them. I was always quiet shy in front of the camera so I’m kind of surprised that I’m having so much fun making reels but I guess people change lol.

I shared some two weeks or so ago and some of you really enjoyed them and asked if I could share reels more regularly so I decided to share some more of my favourite ones again. I know a lot of you guys follow my IG page which I am super grateful for but some of you guys may not use IG or may not want to follow me there since it’s so different from my blog. I thought this way you guys can still check out my reels if you like- WP is my biggest platform so I feel like it just makes more sense to share them here. Anyway, enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed those- they were a lot of fun to make!!

I’m working on a post for next week so I don’t really have a post for today but instead of a post I thought I would share some of my favourite reels from Instagram that I’ve been making. I have been having so much fun on Instagram lately which is weird because last time I tried the whole IG thing I wasn’t that into it. I think I like it more this time around because I’m just having fun with it and not really wasting too much time trying to do stuff that’s trending or going viral or whatever. I also love makeup and creating new makeup looks for IG has been so much fun and has really got my creative side going.

I know a lot of you guys aren’t on IG or following me there so I thought I would share them here too since this is my biggest platform:

Hope you enjoyed those- they were a lot of fun to make!!

Life Update #3

Life Update #3

As you probably know if you have read my earlier post, I am trying to go back to blogging regularly like I used to and blogging on a number of topics not just six word stories and interviews. I had taken a break from longer posts because they take a lot more time but I feel ready and excited to get back into it. Why now you may ask? Well, my answer is stop being nosy. Kidding- I just had a fun break but now I have a lot to say that’s all.

I thought I should do a little update post because I haven’t really talked much about what’s been going on with me lately and I thought it would be nice to catch up with everyone and let you know what’s going on in my life.

If you follow me on my Instagram page you probably already know this but I have been spending a lot more time on my Instagram and I am currently trying really hard to grow it. The progress is a lot slower than with WordPress but I don’t mind. At the moment I am just really enjoying the process of creating content. I have been having a lot of fun with the reels feature which allows you to make short 15-60 second videos. I have been making short funny ones but I also want to start making makeup tutorial videos and more stuff to do with makeup because that’s something I am very into right now and I don’t want to post makeup stuff on my blog too often so I think my Instagram would be a good place to post it. Feel free to check out my reels- I would appreciate it!

This is the latest one I posted:

I’ve also been posting reels about blogging which you can check out below if that’s something you would be interested in:

I also recently hurt my chin by mistake so now my face is all bruised up. It’s kind of annoying because I wanted to take pictures and create reels for Instagram but I can’t because of the bruise. Thankfully, I still have some videos and images I had made earlier that I can use but yeah I’m hoping this heals quickly. Also don’t ask what happened- it’s kind of an embarrassing story of my stupidity so I’m going to choose to not share it with the internet for now lol.

I have been making a lot of new foods too which I am excited to share with you on my What I Eat In A Day posts as well as my recipe posts. I have honestly eaten so many interesting things in the last few weeks I have a lot of food content coming up so definitely keep an eye out for that!

I have also been watching A LOT of Grey’s Anatomy which I am so obsessed with now- if there are any other Grey’s fans out there let’s chat in the comments about it!!

I have also been meaning to get back into art recently so I will be sharing my progress with you guys when that happens.

I have been listening to a lot of new music too and I plan to make an entire post about that at some point but for now I thought I would share some tracks I have been listening to lately:

The songs below contain explicit content so if that is something you would like to avoid please do not watch them.

Oh, and the other day my concealer randomly fell down in the middle of the night from my shelf which I keep all my makeup on and disappeared. Like it just disappeared completely. I turned my bedroom upside down looking for it and I still haven’t found it. It’s been more than a month… Am I being haunted? This is definitely one of the weirdest things that have ever happened to me.

That’s pretty much it for me at the moment- I’ll edit stuff in later if I remember more stuff I want to share with you guys lol. Have a great day everyone!

Your Thoughts

What have you been up to lately? Anything exciting or interesting happening in your life? Are you a fan of Grey’s Anatomy? What music are you currently listening to? Let me know in the comments below because I always enjoy chatting with you guys or simply stop by and say hi- I swear I don’t bite anymore 😂

We Were On A Break

We Were On A Break

Don’t worry I’m not breaking up with you!

I don’t have anything to post today because I decided to take a little break for the day and concentrate on just doing some fun things I enjoy apart from blogging- a lot of it involved food lol! I’ll share a What I Eat post soon so you guys can check it out then.

I have actually been taking a break from blogging for a while now which is why I have just been posting six word stories and interviews. I had a long semester and I wanted some time to just relax before getting into blogging again but I think I am ready to get back into it. I know I haven’t been very active on other blogs but I plan to be a lot more active starting tomorrow and my posts will also be changing starting tomorrow. The interviews will stay because I love doing them but there will be a lot less six word stories (*angry booing from the crowd as someone throws a tomato at me*) and I will be blogging like I used to again. If you’re fairy new you may not know this but once upon a time lifesfinewhine had more than just six word stories. Rumour has it that the writer wrote on topics like blogging/social media advice, poetry, makeup, food, mental health, lifestyle and more. I plan to get back to that and I have decided that once a week I will talk about something going on in the world that I find interesting. It will probably be a rant knowing me lol but I hope to do some research and try to make it kind of educational too. And don’t worry I’ll still post six word stories just less frequently.

I know I haven’t been replying to emails either but I will be doing so starting tomorrow. I just really needed some time off.

Anyway, have a great day!

Beauty Hacks For Busy People

It’s not always possible to look your best. Be it because of late working hours; juggling family, kids, home and work; lack of sleep or eating well; stress or just a simple lack of time. But we all like to look good (which automatically makes us feel better too) and well-presented, be it at the office or now, in Covid times, on a zoom call! Here are a few hacks and tips to cover up the late nights and tiring days and look like a million bucks (even if you’ve slept for just five hours last night).

  1. Dry Shampoo

There’s a reason for the term ‘bad hair day’ – when a persons hair is a mess, they just feel low and down. It just brings their whole appearance notches down, and that makes them feel as glum as they look. And as much as they would like to wash and condition and style it everyday, it’s not always possible to do so. For some busy people like parents, getting to wash their tresses even once a week is a big task – it’s just too time-consuming and takes effort.

Enter dry shampoos. These work miracles on oily looking, unwashed hair, making it look clean, fresh and smelling amazing. Just a spray and a quick brush through and you’re ready to have a great hair day!

  1. Invisible Braces

Everyone desires a great smile with perfect pearly whites. But that’s not always in their hands as genetics don’t always guarantee a perfectly aligned set of teeth. And if you missed the bus for braces in your childhood, you don’t want to add fuel to the fire and flaunt shining silver metal on your teeth in your thirties or forties!

But clear aligners such as Invisalign work on giving you the perfect set of teeth, without anyone knowing it. They are, in simple words, invisible braces, so they go about doing their job fixing minor teeth alignment issues while you go about doing yours – and nobody will ever know! What’s more, they can be removed as well so are a preferred option to traditional braces.

  1. Greying Roots

Most of us don’t like our grey hairs and hence colour, highlight or just touch up the roots every few weeks. As you guys know I personally started getting grey hair pretty early on and I choose not to dye them at all but I know a lot of people do but don’t always have the time to do so regularly. So if time doesn’t permit a root touch-up and you have a meeting or event to attend where you prefer to not flaunt your greys, try this quick fix – just re-arrange the parting of your hair to cover up the grey roots. A side parting usually does the trick of hiding grey roots.

  1. Beauty Sleep

Lack of sleep can lead to dark circles and dull-looking skin. Which is where your BB and CC creams come into play. Cover up dark circles, blemishes, even pimples and brighten up dull-looking skin with these wonder creams – just make sure you get a colour that naturally matches your skin else your secret will be out! I am someone who loves the natural no makeup-makeup look and BB creams and CC creams are the perfect way to look naturally flawless.

  1. No More Puffy Eyes

Few hours of sleep can also result in you waking up with puffy looking eyes. Fear not, there is a quick fix for this too – apply a white eye-pencil in the corner of the eye and white eyeshadow under the eyebrow to make your eyes look brighter and more ‘awake’. This will instantly make your eyes look better and the best part is it’s so easy to do.

E.L.F “Bitter” Lipliner Pencil Review

The “Bitter” Lipliner Pencil

E.L.F is a vegan and cruelty free makeup brand- all their products are vegan and cruelty-free. They are also quite affordable and tend to be very good quality for the price.
The lipliner that I tried out in the shade Bitter is no longer available on the E.L.F Cosmetics official page but can be found on Amazon and other sites. I bought it quite a while back but hadn’t tried it till a few months ago.

  • The first pro for me was that E.L.F is vegan and cruelty free- I am trying to only buy cruelty free products at the moment and I love shopping from E.L.F Cosmetics because I don’t have to Google a million things to find out what’s tested on animals and what is not.
  • I thought it was very affordable for a lipliner- I forget the exact price but it was a bit over a dollar if I’m not wrong.
  • The colour is really pretty! I was expecting something more purple because it looked more purple in the picture but I was pleasantly surprised when I realised it’s more of a deep pink colour. If you use very little of it with gloss it looks really natural and if you use more of it you get a really nice more obvious look.
  • It was easy to apply and soft to wear.

  • It’s a bit dry. As someone who already has dry lips this was not the best formula for me. I know wear it with lip balm underneath and lip gloss on top.
  • It doesn’t last very long so if you’re planning on wearing it when going out to eat take the pencil with you as you will need to reapply. However, the pencil is pretty small so it’s easy to carry with you- you can even put it in your pocket.

Final Thoughts

I thought the it was quite good for the price. The colour was pretty and if worn with lip balm/gloss you can easily wear it all day without your lips drying out. However, compared to other lipliners I have bought at a similar price this was not the best- it was pretty average in my opinion and I can see why E.L.F seems to have discontinued it. I will definitely finish the one I have but I don’t think I would buy it again. I would recommend other E.L.F Cosmetics product though- I use almost all of them and I love them!
Also random story about this review: the picture above was taken like months ago and the other two pictures with the pros and cons was taken a few days ago. I used a snap filter for the one above because I looked like crap and had no other makeup on but I realised the filter slightly changed the colour of the lipliner. So, a few days ago I took more pictures with no filter/editing so you could see exactly what it look like in real life. Yes, I was wearing the same tshirt in both pictures for some reason… And yes I have weirdly small hands- everyone (my sister) makes fun of them- but the rest of me is totally average I swear!
Also I hope you enjoyed this review- it’s been a while since I’ve done a makeup review. You can probably tell by the fact that the brand doesn’t even sell this product anymore lol…
Do you like ELF Cosmetics? Did you like this shade? What is your favourite E.L.F product? E.L.F cosmetics or Elf the movie? What are some of your favourite cruelty free brands? As always let me know in the comments or simply stop by and say hi!

How To Feel At Peace With The Way You Look

Perfections And Imperfections

Self-esteem and body image sometimes go together.
When we’re not happy with the way we look, we can lose confidence, and hide away from others. On the flip side, when we do feel happy about our appearance, we can act confidently and feel better within ourselves. This is something you might identify with.
Of course, your appearance shouldn’t define the way you feel about yourself. None of us are perfect, so you shouldn’t let any so-called imperfections get you down.
I know it can be a struggle to accept your imperfections and to love your body the way it is- it has definitely been a struggle for me. It does help a lot that there is so much more love for plus sized bodies but I still feel like we’re not quite there when it comes to loving all body types.
If you- like most of us- are struggling with what you look like at the moment, if you do need a boost in your self-confidence, and if you do want to feel at peace about the way you look, consider the following suggestions.

#1: Don’t accept the media’s definition of beauty

Many of our insecurities come from the media’s definition of beauty. When we scroll through fashion magazines or browse websites that feature our favorite celebs and reality TV stars, we can start to feel less-than. We start to compare ourselves unfavorably to the way they look, with their super-slim bodies, expensive fashion tastes, and bright, white smiles. We focus on our flaws and lose confidence because we feel that we aren’t as attractive as they are.
But here’s the thing. If you ever feel like this, skip overthinking. Yes, the people you see on the page or screen might be attractive but doesn’t mean they are more beautiful than you. And besides, many images are photoshopped to eliminate signs of any flaws, so what you see might not be reality anyway. The celebs you adore also have make-up artists and fashion designers working for them, so of course they look good. The way they look without any enhancements might tell the real truth.
Instead of comparing yourself, create your own definition of beauty. Consider the aspects of your face and body that you enjoy, and embrace what is good about you. And look at the people you meet every day and consider those aspects that make them radiate beauty. It could be the way they smile at you or the way they rock an outfit that others might consider unfashionable. Beauty is multi-faceted, so don’t get hung up on the way the media portrays it.

#2: Make changes where you need to

If making a change will make you feel at peace with yourself, then fine. If you think a brand new outfit from the store will give you the confidence you crave, buy it! If fixing your smile with cosmetic dentistry will improve the way you feel, then by all means, book that appointment with a dentist. And if your hairstyle doesn’t fit the way you want to think about yourself, go and see a stylist.
By doing something rather than nothing about your looks, you can make improvements where you feel they are needed. Again, you shouldn’t define yourself on the way you look, but if you know you will feel better about yourself after making a change here and there, then do what needs to be done.
I know that a lot of people will say love yourself as you are and I agree that you definitely should do that. However, in my opinion if something about your self really bothers you to an extent where you need to change it and can afford to do so I think you should go for it. Sometimes little changes like changing your makeup, hairstyle etc. can be a huge confidence booster. I know that I got a lot more confident after I learnt how to do makeup and wear my hair properly.

#3: Wear what you want to wear

woman spreading arms near body of water

You don’t have to buy the outfits that are on-trend, as they might not suit your body or your tastes. And you don’t have to dress to impress your friends, as they should love you, no matter what you choose to wear.
In all of your buying choices, buy those outfits that you know you will look good in. And focus on those pieces that are fitted to your body size. When you look good and feel good, you will feel more at peace with yourself, regardless of the opinion of others.
A lot of times, companies try to sell the same style to everyone but everyone is unique. On the one hand what looks great on someone may not be for you and on the other hand what looks great on you may not look good on someone else. We all have our own unique style and we need to embrace them instead of embracing uniformity.
So, with all of your choices, learn to dress your truth. Embrace the styles and colors that are pleasing to you and choose those that match your personality. When you wear what you want to wear, you will discover a more confident you.
And don’t feel pressured not to wear something because you feel like people will judge you for it. If someone is shallow enough to judge you by how you look or what you wear you really don’t want someone like that in your life anyway.

#4: Focus your attention on your best bits

For the bits of yourself that you’re not happy with, do what you can to change them if you want to. But instead of dwelling on them, focus on your best bits instead. Show gratitude for them, be positive, and remind yourself of your best features whenever you’re feeling down about your looks.
Then do what you can to draw attention to your favorite features. If you love your lips, learn how to apply lipstick properly, and choose those colors that will make your lips stand out. if you love your eyes, choose the eyeshadows that will complement your eye color. And if you love your cheeks, play around with a highlighter and a good contour to emphasize them even more.
It’s not easy to love every inch of your body but you can start by loving the small things about yourself that you do like and then move on to the parts of you that may not be your favourite.
So, today, be happy with who you are, and stop comparing yourself to others. Dress the way you want to if it will make you feel good. You are beautiful, so remember that, and be kinder to yourself today.

What are some of the ways through which you love yourself and your body? How do you feel at peace with the way you look? As always let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you.

Our makeup bag must have versatile products such that a single product can be used for a variety of purposes. Today I am going to mention 5 which serve various multipurpose beauty tasks.

1. Coconut Butter

I suggest you can get this at any organic store or you could create it on your own by freezing coconut oil overnight in your fridge.

2. Lip And Cheek Tint

Benefit had come up with this idea long back and it has really been a blessing. It is one of the best dual purpose product. If you are not able to get this product, you could always use a lipstick too!

3. Mascara

You may have read this million times in a lot of blogs but these little wands are a must! They give a dramatic effect to your eyes and it could also be used as Khol for your waterline.

In case, you look tired, face mists will always help you give a fresh look and some even come with properties to keep your makeup set for a long time!

5. Makeup Wipes

These come really in handy in case you have disturbed your eye make up or lips and are a really good fix. Always carry makeup wipes as you may never know what could go wrong.
