So…

So…

I’m working on a post for next week so I don’t really have a post for today but instead of a post I thought I would share some of my favourite reels from Instagram that I’ve been making. I have been having so much fun on Instagram lately which is weird because last time I tried the whole IG thing I wasn’t that into it. I think I like it more this time around because I’m just having fun with it and not really wasting too much time trying to do stuff that’s trending or going viral or whatever. I also love makeup and creating new makeup looks for IG has been so much fun and has really got my creative side going.

I know a lot of you guys aren’t on IG or following me there so I thought I would share them here too since this is my biggest platform:

Hope you enjoyed those- they were a lot of fun to make!!

Getting Old Sucks

Getting Old Sucks

I was kind of preoccupied filming for my Instagram so I didn’t have too much time to come up with a post but I have been listening to this band called Bowling For Soup since I was a teenager and recently they released a song called Getting Old Sucks and it was a little too relatable for this wrinkled, grey haired blogger so I decided to share it with you guys since we always have a lot to talk about when it comes to music.

I know I’m only 24 but I’m already saying things like “kids these days” lol. Should I be concerned? Is this how it starts? Is it downhill from here? I’m still hip I swear! Lol kidding, I love my little greys and I like getting older. I’m okay with that. Let me know what you guys think of the song below and let me know if you’re a fan of BFS like I am!

Life Update #3

Life Update #3

As you probably know if you have read my earlier post, I am trying to go back to blogging regularly like I used to and blogging on a number of topics not just six word stories and interviews. I had taken a break from longer posts because they take a lot more time but I feel ready and excited to get back into it. Why now you may ask? Well, my answer is stop being nosy. Kidding- I just had a fun break but now I have a lot to say that’s all.

I thought I should do a little update post because I haven’t really talked much about what’s been going on with me lately and I thought it would be nice to catch up with everyone and let you know what’s going on in my life.

If you follow me on my Instagram page you probably already know this but I have been spending a lot more time on my Instagram and I am currently trying really hard to grow it. The progress is a lot slower than with WordPress but I don’t mind. At the moment I am just really enjoying the process of creating content. I have been having a lot of fun with the reels feature which allows you to make short 15-60 second videos. I have been making short funny ones but I also want to start making makeup tutorial videos and more stuff to do with makeup because that’s something I am very into right now and I don’t want to post makeup stuff on my blog too often so I think my Instagram would be a good place to post it. Feel free to check out my reels- I would appreciate it!

This is the latest one I posted:

I’ve also been posting reels about blogging which you can check out below if that’s something you would be interested in:

I also recently hurt my chin by mistake so now my face is all bruised up. It’s kind of annoying because I wanted to take pictures and create reels for Instagram but I can’t because of the bruise. Thankfully, I still have some videos and images I had made earlier that I can use but yeah I’m hoping this heals quickly. Also don’t ask what happened- it’s kind of an embarrassing story of my stupidity so I’m going to choose to not share it with the internet for now lol.

I have been making a lot of new foods too which I am excited to share with you on my What I Eat In A Day posts as well as my recipe posts. I have honestly eaten so many interesting things in the last few weeks I have a lot of food content coming up so definitely keep an eye out for that!

I have also been watching A LOT of Grey’s Anatomy which I am so obsessed with now- if there are any other Grey’s fans out there let’s chat in the comments about it!!

I have also been meaning to get back into art recently so I will be sharing my progress with you guys when that happens.

I have been listening to a lot of new music too and I plan to make an entire post about that at some point but for now I thought I would share some tracks I have been listening to lately:

The songs below contain explicit content so if that is something you would like to avoid please do not watch them.

Oh, and the other day my concealer randomly fell down in the middle of the night from my shelf which I keep all my makeup on and disappeared. Like it just disappeared completely. I turned my bedroom upside down looking for it and I still haven’t found it. It’s been more than a month… Am I being haunted? This is definitely one of the weirdest things that have ever happened to me.

That’s pretty much it for me at the moment- I’ll edit stuff in later if I remember more stuff I want to share with you guys lol. Have a great day everyone!

Your Thoughts

What have you been up to lately? Anything exciting or interesting happening in your life? Are you a fan of Grey’s Anatomy? What music are you currently listening to? Let me know in the comments below because I always enjoy chatting with you guys or simply stop by and say hi- I swear I don’t bite anymore 😂

Blogger Interview With Nick

Blogger Interview With Nick

I am so excited to share this interview with you guys- Nick is a brilliant photographer and blogger and I’m sure you will love his blog so don’t forget to go over and check it out when you’re done with the interview. As usual it will be linked below.

1. Thank you so much for being part of this interview. Please tell us a little about yourself and your blog.

My name is Nick. I live in the South of England, near Brighton. I have a daughter who is 4 and has been featured a couple of times in my blog. My blog is photography based and focuses on black and white. My blog is still very young, I think it is 7 months old. I have on occasion swayed from photography and I have done a couple of short stories and parental hints and tips. I have a masters degree in childhood and youth studies, and so i have extensive knowledge in that area but I always end up returning to black and white photography.

2. What inspired you to start a blog?

I started my blog during lockdown. I already had a black and white photography instagram account but i felt it was not personal enough. I felt I did not have a connection with my followers and wanted a platform where I could talk to fellow photographers and see what others were doing. In no time of starting my blog, I was having great conversations and learning so much about photography. The hardest part for me was learning how to blog and reach my readers. Your blog was an inspiration for me and taught me so much about blogging. I still have so much to learn but i am having fun.

3. What inspired you to get into photography?

My interest in photography started very late. I was given a professional camera about ten years ago but I would never really use it. It was from many comments from people saying I had an eye for photography and people really liked the pictures I was taking, that I started to work on my photography. I have always seen photography as an art and I love the work professional photographers can do.

4. Your images are beautiful and what makes them unique is that they are in black and white. Why did you choose black and white?

I was one day scrolling through my personal instagram thread, and i came across this black and white photo that had me looking at it for a crazy length of time. This photograph was perfect and made me so happy. It made me want to do the same so within the next ten minutes i had created a black and white instagram account and i started to take photographs in black and white using my phone. Black and white is beautiful and timeless and it removes the distraction of colour. You look for different things in black and white, shapes, shades, patterns.

5. What are some of your long term goals with blogging and photography?

I am amazed I have been blogging for this long. But i want to keep it going. I want to continue to improve my photography and offer blogging and photography help to others. You inspired me so i hope i can inspire at least one person to get started and give them the help required to keep blogging. I would like to write some more short stories. They focus on my time in munich but the stories are very fictional. This year, I have had very limited time for writing content on my blog, I have focused more on just photography, so I hope soon to be able to write longer posts.

6. What inspires you to continue blogging?

The readers inspire me to keep posting. I get so many amazing comments that make me want to go outside and to take more photos. The blogging community is so powerful and so helpful and that is the reason my blog still has a strong heart beat. I have met some amazing people and I have great chats with them. I look forward to many many more fellow bloggers.

7. What is your favourite food?

I love pasta. Bolognese, carbonara, lasagne. The list goes on. I have been to Italy once and the pasta was out of this world. Beautiful food and a beautiful country.

8. What is one place you really want to travel to?

I am torn between Australia and america. Australia because it looks beautiful and growing up I would always watch Steve Irwin. America because there are so many famous areas to visit. Maybe New York or Disney haha.

9. Have you ever had a crazy experience while shooting photographs and if so what was it?

Nothing crazy recently. But my honeymoon was in Kenya, and I remember we were on a safari and we had come across a lion who had just eaten their lunch. We were so close to this lion and the guides were saying it was fine because she would not be hungry anymore. But i could not take my eye of the lion through fear so i didn’t want to look through the lens resulting in missing the chance for some great photos.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

Thank you all to everyone who has liked and followed my photography. Thank you to everyone that reads my blog and takes time to leave me comments. I understand how busy life is and it means the world when people take time out of their busy schedule to like and comment on my work and so I will always reply to everyone. And i wanted to say a huge thank you to you Pooja, for taking the time to interview me and giving me this opportunity. Your blog was the first to captivate and inspire me to carry on blogging. I learnt so much about blogging from you, so thank you.

Blogger Interview With Susi

Blogger Interview With Susi

I want to thank Susi for this wonderful interview and she has an incredible blog so do take a minute to stop by and check it out- it’s linked below!

1. Thank you so much for being part of this interview. Please tell us a little about yourself and what your blog is about.

Maybe the best way to tell you a little about myself is by sharing my bio – Susi Bocks, writer/author/poet, has self-published two books – Feeling Human and Every Day I Pause and is the Editor of The Short of It. You can find her work at IWriteHer.com, where she invites you to read her thoughts to get to know her. You can also follow I Write Her on Facebook. Bocks’ has works published in the anthologies As The World BurnsSMITTEN: This Is What Love Looks Like: Poetry by Women for Women and in VitaBrevisSpillwordsLiterary Yard, and other literary magazines.

My blog is the place where I share my feelings, my observations, and more about myself. I do this primarily through poetry but also in stories and other writings. I’m an avid reader and frequently share pieces that have resonated or their writing has impressed me.

2. What inspired you to start a blog?

I posted this a while ago which explains the drive to write. https://iwriteher.com/2018/09/11/intent/  I’ll add that in my late 40s, the “who” that inspired me to blog was a young man who helped me realize that I needed to write. He was only 26 years old but the most engaged individual I’d run across. His energy was infectious. Shortly after meeting him, I started my first blog – Susi’s Soap Box. A few years after that, came PhiloSusi. This blog is where I drifted into poetry and the rest is history.

3. What is your favourite part about being a writer?

What I love the most is the freedom to create but reading and reflecting is a big part of what fuels my creativity and direction. I enjoy being inspired by visuals and other’s thoughts because it helps me understand my own feelings about the subject matter.

4. How has blogging changed your life?

How hasn’t it changed my life? lol I am very fortunate that I can devote my days fully to what I love doing, this alone has made the greatest impact on me. My well-being and peace of mind got a much-needed boost when I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. The bonus is that it’s given me more confidence in my abilities as a writer.

5. What are some of your pet peeves about blogging?

My biggest pet peeves are the glitches related to blogging that I’ve experienced – likes and comments disappearing, blogs I follow drop off the reader link, or somehow WP changes the subscription I’d chosen to follow, sometimes not delivering them at all.

6. What are some of your long term writing goals?

I do think another book is in my future, poetry for sure, but writing my 5 Day Tales every month has piqued my interest in writing a full-length story. The anthology I’m working on right now is the fruition of another long-term goal. My intention with The Short of It was not only to feature poets/writers every week on I Write Her but to turn their contributions into a printed publication. Every other year, I’ll be featuring their work, and then each following year, an anthology will be produced.

7. What’s your favourite food?

There are so many, it’s hard to choose. Let’s just say I love food, all of it. lol

8. Where would you love to travel to?

Any white or pink sand beach with blue water and loads of palm trees. And not just travel to it but stay there forever!

9. What is your favourite movie?

I have quite a few favorites of those too but off the top of my head – Dirty Dancing, In America, Soldier Blue.

Blogger Interview With Stacy

Blogger Interview With Stacy

I want to thank Stacy for stopping by lifesfinewhine for this interview- I had a wonderful time interviewing her and I hope you guys take a minute to check out her blog which is linked below.

  1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Please tell us a little about yourself and what your blog is about.

Thank you so much for having me! I’m Stacey, I’m 29 years old and I live in a place called Wiltshire in England, UK. My blog is called 29 and Feeling Fine and I use the tagline Life, Lessons and Literature as every post tends to fall into one of those three categories. Life posts are where I write about what’s going on with me currently, Lesson posts are reflective and I write about things that have happened in the past (normally things I would do differently now!) and Literature posts are about books I’ve read because I’m a huge book lover.

  1. When and why did you start blogging?

I started this blog on my 29th birthday on May 4th 2020 but it’s actually something I’ve wanted to do for years. We were in the first lockdown in the UK and I was feeling really reflective about life and things I wanted to do so I researched blog platforms that night, came up with the name and pressed publish. I started my Instagram (@staceyblogs) at the same time and it doubles as a bookstagram/blogging page. It was quite impulsive but I’m so glad I did it, it’s been so therapeutic for me to spend time outside of work doing something I enjoy and I hope I continue for a long time.

  1. What has been your favourite post to write so far?

My 30 before 30 was fun, although this year has blown a lot of those goals out of the water. I’m thinking of doing a 30 AT 30 to replace it haha! Aside from that, the posts that are most rewarding for me are ones I haven’t planned. I’ve just had an urge to get my feelings out – often at 2am when I can’t sleep. I’m quite an open book but these posts are typically the ones I get the best engagement from.

  1. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I have been interested in writing in different ways since I was a kid. I have always adored reading and if I could ever get my mind to concentrate for long enough I’d love to write a book. When I was a teenager my dream job was to be a Magazine Editor which later turned into a Journalist (although neither materialised sadly!) and in regards to blogging, I must have signed up to 5 different blogging platforms over the last decade but this was the only one I actually pressed publish on!

  1. I noticed you are a fellow rom-com fan and I had to ask- what are some of your favourite rom-coms?

Wow that’s tricky I have so many. I think Notting Hill is an all-time favourite of mine, I could watch it over and over. I actually went to visit some of the filming spots in Notting Hill in London a couple of years ago which was very cool. I have a picture of the bookshop on my bookshelf.

  1. Who are some of your favourite writers?

Jodi Picoult, Giovanna Fletcher, Catherine Isaacs, Lisa Jewell and Gail Honeyman are just a few who have all written wonderful books.

  1. What are some of your 2021 goals for your blog?

To be more consistent and just keep it up! Nothing makes me smile more than seeing comments under my posts or messages via my Instagram so reaching more people is definitely a big goal of mine this year.

  1. What is your least favourite thing about blogging?

That I turn 30 in 4 months and have a blog called 29 and Feeling Fine! New name suggestions are welcome – maybe I’ll be like Adele and change the name on an age-at-time-of-writing basis.

  1. What is your favourite food

Anything with cheese.

  1. What would be your dream vacation?

New York is number one on my dream list. It was always my plan to be in NYC on my 30th Birthday but sadly this won’t be possible this year. One day though!

  1. How has 2021 been treating you so far?

Lockdown 3.0 aside, it’s been okay. I got a new job which is great, especially in the times we’re in but I miss my family and friends hugely. Fingers crossed at some point this year we see some return to normality.

  1. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

Thank you Pooja for having me on your blog and everyone for taking the time to read 🙂

Ask Me Something

Ask Me Something

What Is This?

In March, I did my first “ASK ME SOMETHING” post and it was so much fun. I know a lot of you enjoy these kinds of interactive posts and when I first started again back in January, Zainab a fellow blogger suggested I should do another Q&A post to catch up with everyone and answer your questions and I thought that was an amazing idea. I had been meaning to do one of these posts since then but to be honest I just got super busy with university and knew I would not have enough time to reply to everyone’s questions so I decided to wait till I had a bit more free time.

So, How Does This Work?

In case you hadn’t participated in the last Ask Me Something post or have forgotten how it works I thought I would leave the instructions here again. So, I got the idea for this from how people have that “ask me anything” box on Instagram and thought it would be a lot of fun to do on WordPress too because I have a larger following here and people are a lot more interested in connecting with one another rather than just playing the following/unfollowing. And on that note follow me on Instagram by clicking here- I promise I won’t follow/unfollow you! 😂

I thought it would be particularly fun as some of us are stuck at home and don’t have a lot going on (I’m some of us…). I thought this would be a fun way to connect, start some fun conversations, get to know one another better and just have a nice little virtual get together in the comments section!
Okay so back to how it works. All you have to do is leave a question/questions in the comments section.

After about a week I will publish a post tagging you along with your question and will give an answer to the question on the post.

Thank you!

I want to thank everyone in advance for your comment and for being a part of this! Honestly, it’s just so great that we have this awesome platform on which we can connect with each other. I always enjoy talking to you guys and you always come up with some really interesting questions.

Hey!

Hey!

I didn’t have much time today to write a post so I decided to catch up with you guys! What have you been up to? Have you seen any good shows or movies lately? Try anything new? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to find out what’s going on with you!

I’ve been watching The Office again and apparently so has everyone else right now 😂 It’s comforting since it’s so wholesome and I’ve already seen it so I know what episodes I like. I watched Scrubs for a while and it was pretty good. It probably isn’t my favourite show ever but it’s pretty funny.

I’ve also made a lot of new recipes which has been fun and I’m excited to share more recipes with you guys! I’ve also been trying to finish my essay proposals which has been a little difficult but at least I found topics.

Oh and I wanted to let everyone know that I am avoiding Instagram for a few days because of all the school work I need to deal with and Instagram/social media can be kind of distracting. But I will be back on Instagram in a few days and I will reply to everyone and respond to the comments and stuff. I have a lot of exciting stuff I want to share and a lot of makeup looks/reviews I enjoyed trying out. If you’re interested in makeup, fashion and food/recipe posts on Instagram feel free to follow me by clicking here.

However, I decided to do one today since I have a bit more free time next week.

I want to thank everyone in advance for your comment and for being a part of this! Honestly, it’s just so great that we have this awesome platform on which we can connect with each other. I think I may have gone crazy stuck at home if it hadn’t been for this blog. So again, thank you in advance!!
